[IC] ODSTs: Hunters Become Hunted (Datadogie + kalinsovrin)

Sarah Arrowson sat in her pod, fists clenched, waiting for the moment where the pod would be released and she would fall to the planet. She began to type commands onto a tiny terminal in the pod, staring at the map of the local area, which was being provided by a satellite above the planet. As she scrolled around, she saw a pelican dropping a few marines onto a roof, before taking off again. She watches as a tiny smoke trail floats it's way to the pelican and detonates at one of the engines, causing the aircraft to swerve and hit a building. Sarah winced slightly, but was quickly drawn away from the distraction as the light above her, which was normally red, flashes green for a few seconds. "Squad leader, this is Arrowson. I saw a bird get hit on the satellite feed. There could possibly be survivors." Sarah says, before she feels a wave of sickness, and saw that the pod was descending rapidly from the ship. She groans slightly, feeling nauseous. "I hate the drop. It's the only part I hate." She clenches her fists harder, and forces herself to avoid throwing up.

James had been watching the pelican when it was hit. He shook his head when Sarah said there may be survivors. " odds are they all died but we will take a look and see if anyone made it." He relaxed as the g force grew. If you tensed up it only got worse. As they hit the atmosphere his pod was rocked from side to side. He saw a few of his soldiers throw up at this but he forced himself to stay relaxed and started to align his pod with the drop zone. He had been shaken of course by a good 20 yards from his designated drop point. He did a quick check of his weapons and then said " when we hit be ready for gunfire the momentn you step out. We are not invisible in these pod just harder to kill."

"Roger that." Sarah sighs, shaking her head slightly. She looks around the pod, checking her gear was secure, which it was. Sarah couldn't help but notice that the air inside of the pod was becoming increasingly hotter, but she tried to ignore the heat. As the pod descended, she began to see the city below her, columns of smoke rising into the air, as well as many people dotting the streets, scrambling into buildings. Suddenly, the thrusts on the bottom of the pod activated, slowing the pod down before it hit the ground. The cover of the pod popped off, and Sarah grabs her equipment, quickly leaping to nearby cover as it gets dotted with gunfire. She immediately returns fire with her sidearm.

As soon as his pod hit James had all his weapons in hand and rolled to the left as the lid popes off. He was under a ton of fire as he got out of the pod the moment he got behind a fallen pillar of stone he got his battle rifle ready and took aim on where he traced gunfire to. He looked through the scope and took a few shots taking out two or three men before they turned their attention to his hiding spot. " set up a sniper post and get Sarah there right now we need to take these guys out quick." He said over their coms. He saw the indicator lights saying they understood. He stood up and opened fire with his rifle to give them some cover while they moved. When they were clear he ducked behind his pod for cover.

Sarah quickly runs, taking out the grappling hook and throwing it at a nearby building's window. She quickly ascends the rope, and hops into the window, doing a one-eighty and placing her rifle on the windowsill. She quickly began to pick off targets, at the same time saying on the COM; "I'm in position, and taking out targets." She exhales, and takes out a pair of guys with one shot. "Two birds with one stone." She whispers to herself, as she changes clips. Suddenly, she gets grabbed from behind, and quickly grabs her knife, stabbing the man who had grabbed her. "Fuck. That was close."

James watched the rest of his troops run for cover only to be cut down by machine gun fire. He saw that one of them had only taken a leg hit and was playing dead. " Sarah take out the mg can't move from this point with it still in action." He then turned and took out two men who tried to get close to his pod from behind.

"Roger that." She popped up at the window, aiming carefully, making sure to count in gravity, as well as wind speed. Then, she fired. As she fired, the gun tilted a bit, and the bullet hit the gunner. Unfortunately, as the gunner fell backwards, his finger remained jammed on the trigger, and the rising column of bullets began to impact around the windowsill, one flying straight at her shoulder and whizzing through it, feeling like a red hot razer. "Fuck!" She screams out, as a second impacts the same arm. She quickly ducks down, bringing her gun with her. The bullets pass as the gun points to the sky, and the gunner's finger slips off of it. "I'm hit!"

James lit her locator up on his HUD and did a quick check. He had a path picked out in a minute that would get him to her quickly. He dashed from his cover and rammed his shoulder into the solid steel door at the base of the building and it gave way. He ran to the stairs and quickly went up to her floor. He looked around and saw no foes so be moved to her side and pulled the pin on his bio foam can. He handed it to her and then took position at the window with his battle rifle.

Sarah quickly inserts the biofoam into her arm, groaning because of the sting of it sealing her wounds. "I'm good." She mumbles, standing, pointing out of the window with her rifle. "I'm good." She repeats, shooting at an Insurrectionist that thought running out onto the middle of the street was a good idea. "Sorry, squad lead. At least my head is still on." She pats her helmet. "It looks like most of the Innies on this street have cleared out. Awaiting orders, sir." She says. She doesn't salute him, as that would be marking her superior as a target for hostile snipers. Suddenly, a burst of static hits the COM.
"This is Delta-one-four, our bird was hit by a hostile RPG, and we need assistance! We crashed into a building, and we're held up there." The voice of the pilot sounded feminine, but it was hard to tell because of the static. On the ODSTs tactical maps, a new marker was placed down, labelled 'crash site'. Sarah sighs. "Sir, this may be inappropriate at this time, but," She pauses to giggle quietly. "I told you so."

"Can the humor soldier. We don't have the strength to do much more than go and get pinned down our selves. We need to think this through. Report in I need a head count." He saw four blue indicator lights including his. " Damn we have for people left. This will be hard for us to do much. Let's get to planning the route we will take to get to that downed bird and plan several pull out points."

"Roger that, sir." She sighs. "If we only have four guys left, I think we may need to call for an evac soon. Things ain't looking so good for us." Sarah shakes her head slightly. "I think I should get higher, onto a rooftop maybe. Then, you guys can move in and secure the downed airmen." She suggests, shrugging. "Poor guys." She mumbles, removing her rifle from the window and pointing it at the ground.

James grabs her arm and points to a door on the back of the building with the downed pelican. " you keep that door clear no matter what it takes. That's our way out." He then stands and sprints to join the other two. Together they make their way to the building and see a few men standing outside. They just have pistols. James and his men quickly disable them and move into the building.

Sarah nods, taking aim. One man outside makes a run for the building, but suddenly falls over, dead, from a bullet wound in the back of his head. Sarah smiles a little. "One down, god knows how many to go."

Mary crouches behind a bit of debris from the crash, her co-pilot dead on the ground beside her. She hears footsteps, and pokes up, ready to add another dead body to the pair of dead Innies already dead there. She aims her pistol at the door, and readies to fire as soon as the first person steps in.

As they make their way up the stairs james sees a group of innies about to break down the door to the floor they needed to get to. He drew his pistol an put a round in the head of two of them before they knew what happened his men put the rest down quickly. They climbed over the body's and did a quick check for ammo. "ODSTs are on your floor and coming in through the door hold fire." He called over and open com channel. He opened the door and stood to the side just in case the pilot shot at them still.

Mary's finger tensed on the trigger, but then released itself. "Oh, thank god." She says. "My co-pilot is dead. It's just me." She comes out of cover, and quickly jogs up to the door. "We need to get out of here."

Sarah fires off a few more rounds, then goes to reload, but is suddenly smacked in the back of the head by something. Combat instincts kick in, and she twists around to punch the attacker, turning on the COM at the same time to say something. Suddenly, she gets what feels like a pipe to her side, and gets knocked onto the ground, groaning into the COM, falling unconscious. Jorge smiles evily at the unconscious ODST.

James heard her groan. His head dropped and then he dashed to the window he used the scope on his br to look at her position. He was to far to get a clear shot on her captors but he could hit her tracker from here. He took the shot and got the tracker. When damaged the tracker turned on to full for a total of 3 days. " okay we have lost our sniper so we have to move now. We will get her back." He then switched to his shotgun and moved back down the stairs.

Mary nodded, readying her pistol. "W-What should I do?" She asks shyly, shaking a little.
Jorge ducks down in response to the gunfire, then his face turns to anger. "Shit, your friends are gonna come looking for you." He quickly begins to kick her in the stomach. He then looks around, reaches into his pocket and presses a small button for a beacon, then gets onto his knees, hands on his head in the way of surrending for when the UNSC troops would enter. Sarah remains unconscious.

"Just keep your head down." James called back. He blasted the lock on the door at the base of the building. He saw there was a pelican about 2 clicks out and moving towards them. He placed a marker on the pelican and then ordered his men to stay here. He took of at a sprint for the building where Sarah was. He got there quickly and was able to get to the roof stair well without problems. When he was two floors from the roof he was met with heavy resistance. He was able to break through the innies thanks to his shotgun. He got to the roof just as the pelican did. He ripped the door open and had his rifle at the ready again.

Jorge looks at the ODST that came onto the roof, and keeps his hands on his head. "I surrender." He says, sounding a little pissed. Sarah groans, and slowly begins to open her eyes. Her helmet must have been hit, because it seemed that everything was a little distorted and tinted red. No. Its not the helmet. That's me. she thinks to herself, and rapidly blinks to clear the negative things in her eyes. "W-What the..." She whispers. "W-Where... Oh..." She begins to raise her head, and a little blood seeps from a crack in the side of her ODST armour. Mary comes up and peeks her head through the door.

"Get on the ground before I put a round between your eyes for what you did to my sniper. I don't care if you have surrendered I will not hesitate to kill you." He uncoiled one of his med backs and tossed it to Sarah. "Get patched up we are leaving on the next bird." He kept his gun on this innie as he put in a call to the marine base calling for an evac. " one move and I will drop you innie just give me the reason." He said when the evac was confirmed.
