Here's my idea for the IC incipit:
The story begins with our characters aboard a ship, which sailed from the Colony and is headed towards King's Stone. Our heroes wish to reach the town for various reasons: these days, the small coastal city has been quite the hive of activity. Piracy in the neighboring seas of Barbary is at an all-time high, and wealthy pirate captain often come to King's Stone to spend their loot and recruit crew; Forestlings attacks are on the rise, and the rich merchants are looking for someone to defend their caravans; great expeditions of pioneers often leave from the town's port, hoping to find a new place to call home; bold explorers set out into the unknown wild, in search of glory and riches in the untamed lands of the Rim. There are but a few of the great opportunities that are ripe for taking in the southermost of the Imperial colonies, and the place that lies at the beginning of out heroes' journey.
