Tarani was alone. A great and powerful goddess, and beautiful besides, she had a void in her heart. She was the First.

Out of the nothingness sprang Felan, a mighty god, strong and proud. He decided that he would indeed take the beautiful Tarani to be his bride, and for a time things were good. He was the Second.

The heart-void remained.

First, Felan forged the molten lands to the north, awesome in their fiery beauty. Still, Tarani barely smiled.

Emboldened by this slight display of emotion, the Smith froze the south with his powerful bellows. The ice was breathtaking, but Tarani was still melancholy.

Felan tried his hardest, gathering material from the far corners of his creation. The god forged it all into two small creatures, cutting his thumb during the smithing. A tiny bit of his blood became part of the creatures, giving them his will and ingenuity. Tarani was astonished by these creatures, and while holding them in her hand her heart was filled. She blessed them with her gifts- language, magic, and a moral compass.

Erim and Naora, they were named, the Third and Fourth. Together they set out into Felan's creation, seeking to tame the wilds left from his neglecting of the world while he forged humanity. A test, the Smith decided. Defeat the disorder, and immortality was theirs.

The two did well. Well enough for Felan to make many more, in fact, and in different shapes, sizes, and abilities. A proud but small race known as the Terna were created during this time, as well as the Rewan, not loved like Felan's other creations.

Two, however, were different. Nerom and Hema were incomplete, lacking Tarani's sense of good and evil. The Fifth and the Sixth. They chased after Erim and Naora, seeking to steal their right to immortality.

All would have been well, if Naora was not pregnant. Forced to stay and with her mate refusing to leave her, Nerom and Hema caught them as the child was born. All five were snatched up and deemed immortal, by a reluctant Felan.

The child is known as the Strider in Darkness, earthborn but godly parented. He wanders this world, seeking his completion, not truly belonging anywhere. He is the Seventh.

Rumors speak of an Eighth coming, though the form they will take and when they will come is a mystery...

The Gods:
The First: Tarani, Goddess of Magic, Language, and Good, Tarani was the first to come out of nothing.
The Second: Felan, God of Creation, Light, and the Forge, Felan created the land to attempt to fill a gap in Tarani's heart, eventually creating mankind.
The Third: Erim, God of Humanity, Faith, and War, Erom was the first man- and half of the pair that finally filled the empty place.
The Fourth: Naora, Goddess of Beauty, Love, and Valor, Naora was the first woman, created at the same time as Erim.
The Fifth: Nerom, God of Evil, Cruelty, and Fear, Nerom was a flawed being created with Tarani's touch, and seized godlike powers when Erim and Naora got theirs.
The Sixth: Hema, Goddess of Death, Destruction, and Lust, Hema is the partner of Nerom, and born with the same flaws he was.
The Seventh: The Strider in Darkness. Only four beings know his true name, and he's the only god bound to the mortal plane. Not near as powerful as the others, he's been tainted by the dark and can't return to his home until he finds his partner and is made complete. God of travelers, children, and “places between.”

The World and its Inhabitants
Western Belun is a widely varied land, from the village of Sieg in the Artanan Mountains to the east to the port of Teluma in the west. The north is home to the volcanoes of Yon, and the south the glaciers of Xew.

Important locations and species are detailed here, with those made by players listed afterward.
Locations:
Sieg: A small village in the heart of Burgin's Gap, what used to be the only safe passage through the Artanan mountain range. The Gap was sealed when a necromancer-led horde of undead soldiers destroyed the Kingdom of Fraveth. A statue of an ancient knight stands in the center, said to revive when the world needs help.

Teluma: A port city and the capital of the human kingdom sharing its name, Teluma is the premier location for new technologies, art, and fashion. It's lit by magistone lamps, with the roads radiating in spokes from the Imperial Court in the center. Sturdy walls surround the town, though the gates haven't been closed in centuries.

The Alban Woods: A great forest in the center of the continent, and home to the majority of the Terna people.

Hefil: A town in the southern wastes, Hefil is the settling place of most Rewan.

Peoples:
Humans are going to be your main race. The first species created by Tarani and Felan working together, almost all humans have some type of magic. That magic may manifest itself as slightly enhanced physical abilities, pyrokinesis... The usual, though focused abilities like pyrokinesis are usually those who have trained for decades. Most powers are very weak.

Warlocks, a subspecies of human, are those who have so much internal magic that it bubbles over, making them a living battery of arcane power. These generally have a hard time focusing their abilities into a cohesive spell or the like, instead using focusing instruments, like a pair of pistols. Warlocks all have one thing in common- eyes that glow slightly in the dark.

Another race, the noble Terna, almost exclusively focus their formidable magic power into their physical form, and are able to pull off nearly impossible feats as a result. The Terna also specialize in making "charged" weapons, an implement that allows normal people to use a warlock's powers- for a limited number of charges, of course. The average Terna is slightly shorter and slighter than a human, with runic tattoos and friendly but proud green eyes. They live in small camps inside the Alban Woods, and are a species of proud warriors and hunters.

The final major race, the Rewan, are, despite their unearthly beauty, a side-effect of humans. Having no natural magic of their own and shunned by the other species, the Rewan are practically immune to the other races' arcane arts. Spells falter within five feet of them, and a Terna's strength will desert him or her, leaving them with ordinary abilities. A Rewan is tall and graceful, with skin like that of purest ash. Their eyes are, nearly without exception, blue. They tend to be more skittish and timid than other races, and few Rewan are seen outside of their village of Hefil in the frigid glaciers of Xew.

Profile Form
Name:
Species: Human, Warlock, Terna, Rewan or custom. Customs must be well detailed, and I would highly, highly prefer that they be original. Don't go for the vampire, go for the Vrewa (made that up XD).
Appearance: Duh.
Age:
Personality: Optional but encouraged.
Weapons/Possessions:
Skills/Abilities: For all those physical and magical skills you have.
Biography:

Please note that this is a guideline- feel free to add more blanks, but I need to see that information.

Rules:
1. All RPGuild and Casual RP rules and standards apply.
2. Listen to the staff.
3. Arguments/debates may go on for 5 posts in the main thread. After that, take it to PM or the discussion topic.
4. No godmodding. Dodging unavoidable attacks, ignoring injuries, etc.
5. This fits under godmodding: No metagaming. Knowing things your character didn't learn, magically crashing another player's party without a good IC reason.
6. Put “Let gods lie” in your profile to prove you read this.
7. Don't kill another player's character without permission from him/her. Make sure to write that you have permission in the post where you kill the character.
8. NPC autohitting is permitted as long as you play realistically. If you charge a group of Terna warriors waving nothing but a wooden sword and you're winning, that's breaking the rules.
9. No destroying major locations without explicit permission
10. No bunnying. That means taking control of another person's character without permission.
11. Double posting... Nah.
12. Have fun!

Recent History:
This section is mostly blank. However, the King-Regent of Teluma is currently hosting a ball, and all citizens are invited. The nobles are in an uproar over the invitation of Terna and Rewan as well.

The Terna are worried about magical disturbances in the core of the Alban Woods. Talk to Meri, the Terna clan-chief, for more information.

Rumors abound that the Rewan are planning on moving out of their keep in the mountains, and into the lush woods below. None have talked to the leader, Kine, to see if these are true as of yet.

And a final note: With the beginning of the new site and (hopefully) abounding players, I'm bringing this thing back. I'd like most characters to start at the ball or in one of the other two villages, but it's up to y'all. Happy posting/profiling!

Background: Lana was born in Kembre, the largest oasis city in the vast Calliope desert. Her mother Enid, and father Maksim, had only gotten married when Enid found she was pregnant with his child, not for any sort of love, just responsibility, and then Lana was born. Enid was never the type to be a mother, or wife, having much more fun dancing, drinking, and seducing men at taverns. Being home with a baby, and doing chores was not her cup of tea. When Lana was two in a half, Maksim had had enough of it all, finding Lana home alone when he came home from work, among other things was not how he wanted his flesh and blood raised. He took Lana with him to live with his cousin just outside the city, in the little town called Vaters. They stayed there for a few months, but Enid came banging on the doors at all hours of the night demanding Lana back, and Maksim was to head off to battle in a few weeks, his cousins did not want to take care of a little toddler.

Maksim ended up giving Lana back to Enid, because he had no other option, and he left for battle. Three months later Enid was sick and tired of being a mother yet again, and wanted Maksim to come back from battle, to take Lana off her hands, but instead she found out that Maksim had died in battle, axe to the chest. Not knowing what to do with a little toddler, she Dropped three year old Lana off to live with sister Enid's older sister Ivanna, in her home village of Roon. Enid was a native Dragoth, but she hated the traditional lifestyle with a passion, and wanted to stay in Kembre city, and be rid of all responsibilities. So from age three to fifteen, Lana lived with her Aunt Ivanna, Uncle Victor, and two cousins Olga, and Trina, in the little desert village of Roon, home to only Dragoth People. Lana even came to call them ma and pa, and considered her cousin to be her own sisters.

Growing up in Roon was like a little adventure within its self, the canyons, and caves being home to many dragons, and magical creatures. The rocky cactus land always had lizards, and snakes lounging around in the sunshine, and was even home to some rare man eating flowers. Roon is a native Dragoth Village, also known as a moving village, and every five years the people and village move to a new location in the Calliope desert. Lana would play in the jungle like forests with her cousins, and with the other village children, climbing trees, racing, hunting, and picking cactus needles. She went swimming in the jungle Lagoon practically every day, and during the summer would go looking for fire, and moon stones with her family up in the volcano mountains. During winter she would sit by the fire with her family, and paint, or help her aunt with weaving on the loom, as her pa sang songs, and told stories, but most of all she loved to read about all the different plants and animals around the world. She got letters from her mother every few months, sometimes a package came with the letters, and Lana would always open it gleefully, only to see another fluffy dress or fancy hair ornament. She always wrote her mother two letters back, and would send along pressed flowers, and pieces of fabric she had embroidered.

When she was eleven, her mother came to see her for the first time since she had sent to live in Roon. Her mother had come not see Lana specifically, instead Enid was dying from some venereal disease she had had for the last few years, and only wanted pity from her family, which she got none of. Enid died a few weeks later, a traditional Dragoth funeral was held, and Lana mourned for the mother she never knew. She painted two of her mothers death beads with flowers, and watched as Aunt Ivanna hung enids death bead chain high up in a large tree.

When she was thirteen she found a dragon with a broken wing in the canyon. She helped mend the dragons wing, and the dragon flew off, only to comeback every day to see her. Lana and the dragon became friends. The Dragon later chose to be bond to Lana, and with that become her dragon, who she named Libellule. When Lana was fifteen had her Masha Ceremony. Later that year she decided that she wanted to see the world and travel all around, so she set off on the back of Libellule. She got jobs as a messenger, flying letters, items, and secrets all around, and that is what she has been doing for the past few years, along with going on her own little adventures, typically resulting in stupid and dangerous situations.

Not for the first time, I find myself in a topic bearing the name "Felan", and its progenitor is similarly familiar. My return has arrived, and for good or ill...

It's your fault, Kaithas. :p

Well, as you say above, let sleeping gods lie.

But alas, it is time to open the hushed casket.

Name: Alistair Sieg
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown, somewhere in the neighborhood of several hundred years. Looks to be in his early twenties.
Weapons: Alistair carries on his person several weapons, notable among them a large longsword sheathed on his back. It’s blade is carefully maintained, with ancient lettering on the side, indecipherable for those of the modern era. Its hilt is gold in color, with a simple leather wrapped handle. Several long daggers are sheathed at his waist.
Magic: Alistair was given for his valor a unique gift. He can, in limited capacities, channel the power of Erim, his old King. Such powers are usually related to weapons and combat, and they can manifest in several forms. However, there is a severe drawback. The mortal form was never meant to channel the power of a god in any capacity, even with their blessing. Extended use causes damage to his body, and if he were to use it for too long, his body would destroy itself from the strain. As such, it is an ability rarely used.
Appearance: Alistair stands at over six feet tall, clad in shining, off white armor. Silver accents give color to the metal. The armor itself is clearly old, a relic of a more civilized age, crafted with a unique sense of dignity. Large shoulder pauldrons rest on either side of the chest piece, the edges tinted silver. His helm forms closely to his head, sculpted to resemble a lion’s head and mane. Outside of his armor, he tends to dress in old clothes, simple leather or cotton, despite his fomer affluence. He is, unsurprisingly, quite muscular, though it is not always obvious at first. His black hair is kept carefully maintained, resting a short distance above brown eyes.
Bio: Generations ago, in a time long lost to the annals of history, Felan was at war. Nerom and Hema had gathered their forces on the land’s western side, a great army filled with the most powerful creatures the two could conjure, the worst shades, the things of nightmares. They intended to march on the west, and march they did. But when the first wave crossed the mountains, they discovered that the other gods had been ready for them. An army had been created to face them head, their ranks filled with every able bodied fighter they could find, led by a single King. The fighting was vicious, but the assault was slowed, and before long, evil’s forces began to fall back, inch by inch, toward the mountains.

But another force waited beyond them, slower than the first, moving to aid the army in the west. Valiantly though they fought, the King’s army would not prevail if reinforcements were allowed to arrive. And so it was that when Nerom and Hema’s vanguard arrived at the narrow Burgin’s Gap, they found their way blocked by a small contingent of soldiers. The King’s very best, they fought for four days against the numerically superior foe, their number slowly dwindling. By the morning of the fourth day only four warriors remained to defend the pass. By noon, only one remained. Surrounded by fallen enemies and allies alike, the knight continued to fight, determined to hold the pass as long as possible. But despite his best efforts, he was felled by an enemy sword. Nerom and Hema were not able to savor their victory for long, for no sooner did he fall, than a horn sounded from beyond the gap. The warriors had bought the King’s army enough time to prevail in the west, and carry on to the pass. Nerom and Hema’s forces fell that day, never again to gather in such force.

But the final knight was not yet gone. At the battle’s end he still lived, but it was clear that he would soon pass. Tarani, however, deemed that it was not yet his time. Moments before his passing, the knight was sealed in a statue, surrounded by stone effigies of his fallen comrades. A single inscription on the base proclaimed that when the gods deemed the time right, the warrior would awaken once more.

Decades passed, and a town of the same name arose in Burgin’s Gap, built around the monument. Over the years the writing has faded, and the legend with it. Even those that remember doubt its truthfulness now, but some still believe, and spread the story as they can.

But the time foretold is now upon the world.

Hey look at that, a direct copy paste from the last revival. :p If the profile doesn't work this go around, boss, let me know and I'll think of something new.

It looks great. I'm really surprised someone actually chose to put that amount of time into this, which is awesome.

The only thing I will say is that I'm kinda iffy with pheromones (long story) but that's just personal preference. Watch your power levels and you'll be great.

I just have two quick things for you, Emma, even though that's incredibly awesome.

I would like to know the extent of your magic and flame control, but that's not as major as this:

How much will you use Libellule? I ask because dragons be powerful.

I was also gonna ask if you wanted to work with me on defining dragons in Felan and some of the locations you mentioned, but that's entirely optional ^^

The extent of Lana magic is just your basic witch magic

Her flame control, is like that of a firebender in the avatar show, but without all the karate movements and arm swinging. A Pyrokinetic ability to control fire. She draws her power from the sun, so her fire magic does not work at night, and is rather pathetic on cloudy/stormy days. She can defuse and extinguish a fire. She can create a flame in her hand, and thrust the flame down in an explosive fire burst. Lana can also crate Blowtorch-like jets which are created from her fingertips to use like throwing knifes. However, they lack the ability to actually block physical objects, seeing as they are made of fire. She can heat smaller things like, liquids, like water or tea, heat metal to scalding temperatures, or melt blocks of ice. Heat and fire does not burn her skin, and is only warm to the touch. (if this is to much I can totally dial it down, I don't plan on using her powers or fighting very much in the RP. unless the situation pops up. Basically she can light a fire at night to keep herself warm)

Libellule - Is more of a companion, that happens to fly and breath fire. I wrote it out in the dragon description below. Libellule is normally at her smallest size and ether perched on Lana arm or shoulder, unless flying, or carrying supplies, in such cases she is in her full large form. She is also in her large form when hunting for food, and being out in the large open lands traveling beside Lana.

- Dragons Of Felan -

Appearance - Dragons come in all shapes color and sizes. They come in many different colors but mainly greens and blues. Many are huge fire-breathing, scaly and horned lizard-like creatures, with leathery, bat-like wings, four legs and a long muscular tail. sometimes have with feathered wings, crests, fiery manes, ivory spikes running down there spine and various exotic coloration, such as metallic, or iridescent scales.

Found - They live in the canyons of the Calliope desert, in the volcano mountains of the north, the Artanan mountain range, and places of very high elevation. They gain their energy from

lifespan - Most dragons can live to be 2000 years old, unless they have bonded with a Dragoth person, in which case their lifespan ends when their person dies. Female Dragons only have up to three mating seasons in there whole life, resulting in one precious egg that takes 300-500 years to hatch.

Powers/abilities -

Bonding:A dragon can choose to bond to a Dragoth person, essentially their souls bind together as one. It is extremely rare, almost impossible, but there are two known case of a dragon bonded to a species other then dragoth.

Flying: They can fly using their strong wide wings.

Fire Breathing : They can breath fire, but only after eating such things as gems/crystals/metals. Depending on how much they ate is how powerful and big the flame can be.

Size manipulation: Dragons have their natural form (basically huge), but they can change their size to be smaller. They can get as small as a falcon if they wish.

Immunity: Their body temp in normally rather high, and they can not feel cold even in the coldest part of the world. Fire can not harm them, nor lava/magma which is a place they like to swim in.

Enhanced: Enhanced Vision, hearing, and smell comes along with being a dragon.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - -
Locations Mentioned

Calliope Desert - Is a vast desert, home to the many races and and creatures. The southern part of the desert resembles that of the american sonoran desert, and the farther north you go, the scenery changes to a more sahara like desert, the natural occurring oasis normally have towns and city build around or next to them. Throughout the Calliope desert there are many canyons, home to some dragons and other magical creatures. Humid jungles also pop up around the desert, but due to the man eating and poisonous plant people do not inhabit it and normally chose to walk around the jungle areas rather then through.

Kembre - Is the largest oasis city in the vast Calliope desert.

Name: Lee Allace

Species: Rewan

Age: 21

Weapons/Possessions:

-An old Yak named Vinnie pulling a wooden wagon.
-A big wooden chest full of clothing, blankets, food, and other must for journeying.
-A pouch of gold coins and gems.
-Bow and arrows
- one long very sharp dagger

Skills/Abilities: No magic abilities -- Let Gods Lie

Biography: Lee is a seventeen-year-old girl from Hefil, an isolated village located in the frigid glaciers of Xew, who has never been allowed to work with the rest of the villagers in the quarry, that keeps the community alive. As a child, her father forbade her from setting foot in the quarries where the villagers work daily, and the only reason he ever gave her was "You art to obey your father, no mer questions my gal". As a result, she felt unwanted and assumed it was her small stature, and weak body that prevented her from being useful to her community. She felt this way throughout her whole childhood, even thought her older sister had explained to her many times that their father just want to protect her and keep her safe, like he was unable to do with there late mother, who died in an avalanche accident cased by the great lightning storm fifteen years ago. The Quarry workers, which are make up most of the population of the villagers, cut ice, marble, and other precious stones, which they sold to the outside traders that came at the beginning of every spring season. She felt like an outcast in the community and cut off from the culture focused around a shared working life in the quarry, up until her sixteenth birthday, when she saved two of the village children from the falling icy rock slide.

As the quarry could barely cut enough stone to feed the villagers, Lee kept on trying to help in her own way. In spite of her feelings of isolation, she found that the outside traders had been cheating the village of there well earned supplies and money for the exchange of stone. The Stone from there mountains and glaciers was only found in their region, and the Rewan people were the only masters of cutting and digging it out of the earth, as they had done for centuries. The stone being in high demand to the outside world, the traders sold it for much much higher prices then what they bought it from the Rewan for. She became an adviser to the Village Leaders, finally making her feel need and necessary.

Lee is very close to her father and her older sister, Glenda, and she shares a close friendship with a crippled boy named Eskel. For as long as she can remember, Lee has dreamed of working alongside the other villagers in the quarries of her beloved ice lands, but having now found a place for herself she is happy. The village Elders have sent her as an Rowen ambassador to the up and coming Ball. This being her first time outside her village she is naive to the ways of the rest of the world.
