Hello,
This is a plot that I’ve been wanting to do for a while. But first, here’s some information about me and what I’m looking for:
If all of that floats your boat, here’s the plot I have in mind. In the Background section, there is an OPTION A ending and an OPTION B ending. Depending on which one you pick, there are several different ideas I have for the direction this can go in.
Depending on whether you choose OPTION A or OPTION B will dictate how we would proceed in terms of plot. Here are the ideas I had for both A and B.
*Royalty
This can have two different options. Dread decides to kidnap a Prince (or Princess, if you can persuade me) for ransom, growing bored with raiding ships and wanting to try something new. The Prince, once on board, discovers Dread’s secret, and a dangerous game of cat and mouse begins, the roles constantly changing. This particular plot could get a little darker in content, given that Amelia was eighteen when she took on the persona of Dread, and has been disguised as a man for ten years, she doesn’t really know what it means to be a woman.
The other option is a royal stowaway. I don’t have as much fleshed out for this particular one, just that perhaps a member of royalty grows bored with their life and decides to run away, and ends up as a stowaway on the Basilisk.
*Rival Pirate
A rival Pirate, who is quickly making his own name somewhat of a legend, either finally catches up to Dread, or Dread catches up to him. Perhaps Dread gets word of the rival talking trash at a bar that pirates regularly frequent, and decides to eliminate the threat. It proves to be much more of a challenge than anticipated, and either Dread gets captured, or rather than being able to kill the rival he gets captured. Either way, the secret is discovered and the plot can go from there.
*Old Friend/Royal Navy
When Amelia ran away, she not only left behind her home but the only friend she had had growing up, a local boy whose father was a member of the Royal Navy, and frequently sought her father out for swords. The day she leaves, he comes by only to find her father’s body, the Snake’s body, the shop ransacked and Mia missing. He searches for her, has his father try to help, but years go by with no sighting and he eventually gives up.
Ten years later he’s now a Commander in the Royal Navy, and his sole mission is to capture Lady Dread and bring her to justice for her many crimes.
Where we take this is open for discussion. Several options are available, he can succeed and capture her, he could attempt to ambush her ship from the inside and gets caught by one of her crew and taken to her. He gets word that she’s docked in a seedy town, he ditches his uniform for plainclothes and goes to the bar she’s supposed to be at to attempt to capture her. She gets word of his latest promotion, hearing his name is like seeing a ghost, and decides to pay an old friend a visit, not knowing that his first assignment as a commander is to capture Lady Dread, dead or alive; he can’t believe she’s alive, is surprised by her appearance and shocked to learn that she is Lady Dread, and it sparks an argument a sword fight in which one or both is severely wounded, and a relationship that is cat and mouse, chase and capture, flirtatious from her end and angry from his. This is my FAVORITE OPTION, and one I very much would like to play.
*Any of the options from A, just with her being Lady Dread. She would be a very different character, which would change the options and the stories.
If you’re interested, please PM me and we can talk about things. If none of the options above interest you and you have one of your own, I’m also open to that as well!
Thanks,
Chelsea
This is a plot that I’ve been wanting to do for a while. But first, here’s some information about me and what I’m looking for:
*My name is Chelsea. I’m a 22 year old female. I was an English major and a theatre minor at college.
*I anticipate this particular plot containing mature content, and will therefore only be comfortable writing with someone who is 18+.
*I’ve been doing the RP thing for about five years. I was on this site before the crash, and I’m pleased to find it back up and running.
*I prefer to write one main female character (third person POV), and however many NPC’s are necessary for what we come up with.
*I prefer to write/communicate via PM.
*I generally stick to 2-4 paragraphs per post, I do tend to get carried away every now and then, but don’t except a novel every time.
*I can usually guarantee a minimum of one post a day; generally I can (and would love to) post more than that (and, of course, if something crazy pops up that will prevent me from hitting that goal/being away for several days, I will absolutely communicate with you what’s going on).
*I love to talk! I want to get to know you outside of just the RP; communication helps build a great relationship and I want to be your friend in addition to being a writing partner.

Amelia Pembrooke grew up not knowing her mother, and loving her father more than anything in the world. Her father, Noah, was one of the most renowned blacksmith and sword makers in the land. His swords were praised not only for their beauty, but for their expert craftsmanship, deadly blades, and perfect balance. Mia was trained not only in the art of sword making, but in swordplay as well. And not just by her father; many of the men, pirates and Naval men alike, each traded a trick or two to the girl while they waited for their commission to be finished. By the time Mia was seventeen, she could best just about anybody that came her way with a sword.
One day, when Mia was only eighteen, they had a visitor that they never expected or wanted. The Black Snake, the most feared and deadly pirate in the land, stumbled drunkenly into their shop demanding a sword so fine it would be the envy of everyone on the sea. Her father set a price, and then went to work. Mia kept her distance from the Snake; he frightened her, with his drunken leers and vicious tendencies.
When the sword was finished, Mia couldn't have been happier, for it meant the disappearance of the Snake, hopefully to never return. But, when her father refused to hand over the sword for anything less than the price they had agreed to, the Snake slit Noah's throat and took the sword. Mia watched, horrified, as her father's body crumpled to the ground. The Snake then turned to her, wanting to claim a second prize.
Furious about her father's murder, Mia picked up her father's sword and faced her foe. The Snake was drunk, but put up a deadly fight. Mia had the upper hand, and before long she rammed the sword straight through the man's belly.
OPTION A
With her father dead and nowhere else to go, she quickly thought through available options. She had no other family, and while she thought she was skilled enough to take over the business, people came for her father's swords, and they might not want to pay for her own work. Deciding it was time to make a decision, she took the bag of gold her father had hidden in the house and filled a large bag with as many swords as she could. Then she stripped the long coat that the Snake wore and took his hat. She twisted her brown hair up and stuffed it under the hat, put on the coat--which was just verging on too big, but she needed it if she was going to do what she needed--and finally, she took the black bandana her father always wore around his neck, and tied it up to cover her face. She also took the Snake's pistol, and the sword that her father had died for.
She made her way to the docks, and spotted the Basilisk easily enough. She made her way on board, letting her fury flow through her. Once the crew was gathered on deck and wondering what had happened to their captain, she threw the bag of swords at their feet. "Your Snake is dead," she informed them, lowering her voice a bit and making it sound much rougher. "You can pick up a sword and follow me, and I can promise you riches beyond your wildest dreams. Or you can leave, and no harm will come to you."
And thus, Captain Dread was born, and rumor of his violent killing of the Black Snake and his stealing of the Basilisk spread across the sea. Ten years later, it's still the most feared name on the sea.
OPTION B

Deciding it was time to make a decision, she took the bag of gold her father had hidden in the house and filled a large bag with as many swords as she could. Then she stripped the long coat that the Snake wore and took his hat from his head before taking the black bandana her father always wore around his neck and tied it around her wrist. The bandana, and the last sword he had ever made, would be the only reminders of home she took with her.
She put the coat on—which was just verging on too big, but she needed it if she was going to succeed—and donned the Snake’s old hat before making her way to the docks. She spotted the Basilisk easily enough. She made her way on board, letting her fury glow through her. Once the crew was gathered on the deck and wondering what had happened to their captain and why this girl was wearing his accoutrements, she threw the bag of swords at their feet. “Your Snake is dead,” she informed them. “You can pick up a sword and follow me, and I can promise you riches beyond your wildest dreams. Or you can leave, and no harm will come to you.”
A few of the older men left, believing having a woman on board was bad luck, but the majority stayed, deciding to give her a chance. And they were not disappointed.
