The walk out of the lab took a long while, but Max hardly noticed; she was too bubbly with pent-up energy. "So where are we going?" She asked her guard, unable to hold herself back, but knowing that she wouldn't get a response. The guards hardly ever talked to her, and when they did, they always started the conversation and it ended quickly.
Finally, they entered a new room; one she'd never seen before (though that was hardly surprising, the facility must have been huge), and the guard stopped. He gestured her inside, and then left her, the door clicking behind him. The room was medium-sized, and so far, empty. There were a couple of tables in it's centre, lined with chairs, and she hovered near one, unsure as to what Vlad expected of her. Should she sit, or...? She was just about to pull out a chair when she heard the door. More guards, ushering along another girl, who looked around Max's age.
'Is she like me; another of Vlad's experiments?' Max wondered, trying to look casual and avoid staring. She finally made a decision and sat at the table, then stared at her hands, picking at a nail.
