Well I hope this is not close to others who still want to join because I would love to.

Why not have two teams of 4 instead if 1. I'm assuming that you guys won't be the only students at Beacon, assuming you will have at least 3-4 teams(1 real, 2 npc). Won't it be more fun to have 2 real teams instead of 1, just my opinion

As for the plot, why not have the white fang actually declare war on the 4 kingdom, and the beacon students have to help in the war, but the grim ate now taking the opportunity to attack all the kingdoms also(may sound dumb, others will probably have better ideas).

I think that plot is actually what will be happening, except bigger. We might do somethign thats directly involved with the RWBY plotline, or maybe somethign not related at all.

Yeah, this is still definitely open. gonna have 2, maybe 3 teams of real ppl, the team combinations will have yet to be decided, i'm thinking of having it randomized

Wow, lots of people so far. I've got a plot developing too, so it looks like this can get set up within a few days or so. Now for the title of the Roleplay, which I also have some ideas, as well as character creation.

First off,

Base Rules and Requirements

1) No Canon characters.
2) All characters weapons must have a ranged and melee form, or some way to do both ranged and melee combat.
3) Fawness characters are obviously acceptable, but will be discriminated by most others, so be careful.
4) Teams will be determined randomly.
5) A Semblance does not necessarily have to be used purely for combat, and does not have to be used purely outside of combat.
6) Semblances must have a title of at most 2 words.
7) There are currently no rules set for character names, save that they are at least creative, pronounceable, or can be shortened for a nickname.
8) For understandable reasons, if you excel at something, such as strength, you will inevitably falter at something else, such as stealth.
9) Dust and the use of Dust is permitted, provided you have an understandable source of it.

Now for the

Character Creation

Name:
Nickname: (optional)
Age: (15-19 is recommended)
Gender:
Race:
Appearance: (Either an image or description, but an image is recommended)
Personality: (Your personality will reflect your fighting style)
Weapons: (an image is again recommended as well as how it functions(Not super specific details like this screw here keeps the whole thing from falling apart) as it changes modes, melee and ranged)
Semblance:
Strengths: (In and out of combat)
Weaknesses: (In and out of combat)
Theme Song: (very much optional, but I love music so let me hear it XD Can be from a video game, anime, whatever)
(In case you're wondering why there's no History there, I would prefer if everyone kept their characters past written and saved somewhere or in their memory, have it gradually unravelled and revealed as the story progresses)

If you have any questions, ask. If you have any problems or if I messed up somewhere, let me know. If you need suggestions, I would happily offer any kind of advice.

also, if anyone can explain to me how Dust works exactly? -.-' I still don't have much of a clue aside from It's magic, bitch.

Also also, some names that have crossed my mind: Game of Chess, Check and Mate, Absolute Checkmate
something to do with chess, as that seems to be a common theme in the RWBY series, suggestions are appreciated

Canon characters are those who are official parts of the cast.

And dang it, I forgot that Penny has floating swords covered. I wanted to make my weapons 8 throwing knives, but they were going to return telepathically, and I guess Penny pretty much has that covered. Well darn... maybe I'll steal Pit's weapon.

Penny doesn't attend Beacon, and is becoming a larger part of the story. The problem with using a side official character like that is that new information may be revealed about them in the show which will not be consistent with the RP.
I vote for us to call the RP Deep Blue. Yes, it has to do with chess, but it's vague enough that people won't go "Oh, chess!" when seeing it. Also it contains color, which is important in the RWBYverse.
