~ Story
It's been twelve years since the death of the dark lord on the very grounds of Hogwarts, the blood of the causalities still fresh between the cracks of stone and dirt. There is a new headmaster at Hogwarts, new teachers and new students to tell new stories in the aftermath of the dark lord's fall. It's been quiet and peaceful for the past few years, and no sign of trouble seems to be present, except for the usual rivalry of house Gryffindor and house Slytherin .

A month into the new year at the prime school of wizardry, a student is contacted by a mysterious person claiming to be a Death Eater, and is recruited to be the spy at Hogwarts for the Legacy of Lord Voldemort.

A single day could take from 5 to 15 posts per player, but at least the majority of the players should have posted between 5-15 times in order to advance into the other day. (Post number is a rough estimation)
This day advancement system isn't necessarily the one we will be using, it is just there established in case confusion gets around.

Most of the time day advancement is controlled by the GM and the Co-GM. So no worries counting others' posts.

~Rules

- This is a Harry Potter roleplay, some knowledge of the HP universe, terminology and lore is kinda required. If you think you can manage to participate you are more than welcome, but I prefer those with some HP knowledge.

- Drop a character sheet using the sample below, you will need my approval to get your character accepted and ready to post. Currently you may make two characters max (1 staff, 1 student. Or 2 students), you may make a Staff character but it needs to be good and interesting!

- Universal RP'ing rules and decorum apply here, don't kill other characters, don't control them without their owner's permission, READ all posts before posting, even if they were unrelated to your character!

- This will hopefully be an active and lasting RP, so I expect usual participation and no sudden departure. If your character stands in the way of other characters' and plot advancement it will be controlled by me or the Co-GM to resume the story fluidity, and if its absence continues it will be killed off- or worse, expelled.

- No explicit adult content, keep it tasteful and clean. (Be creative and minimal with cussing, stay away from the F, A, S and C words)

- The spy will be picked and contacted by PM after some time, don't aspire to be picked, just play your character and a spy will be picked.

- This RP will strongly depend on character development more than anything else, this is a character driven RP. Make your character act and behave like a real Hogwarts student/staff.

- Refer to the Map section, there is a website that could help you achieve accuracy in terms of locations.

Personality: Jordan is smart, cunning, determined, and easily approachable. While not exactly a genius, Jordan can hold her own amongst the brightest wizards. She's book-smart and has a constant hunger for more knowledge. She's the kind of person who knows what she wants and will do all she can to get it, although she can take on a tunnel vision when it comes to that. She's friendly enough, though wary of unfamiliar people, and can offer a hand when you need it. Despite everything she's achieved, Jordan's ego can be easily destroyed by a few choice words. She's not exactly the bravest witch either, and is not a risk taker. She's a person who looks before she leaps, even if it means not leaping at all, especially if she deems the reward not worth the effort. She wants to get over this particular flaw because she knows it would hinder her in her climb to greatness.

Bio\History:
Jordan was the youngest, born into a family of Slytherins. They valued greatness and tradition, so when young Jordan came to earth, her fate to follow the footsteps of everyone in her family had been set in stone. So when Jordan turned eleven and received her letter of acceptance to Hogwarts, her father saw her off with the words, "Show them the best Latner Slytherin," ringing behind her. So of course her parents had been devastated when they received a mail from her the next day with the news of which house she was sorted into. Their daughter was a Ravenclaw, the very first in their ancestry. They could not have that. Jordan was pulled out of school and taught a lesson, the hard way - which was the only way in the Latner clan.

Still, they couldn't hold her for long. Disowned by her own parents and shunned by her former siblings, she retured to Hogwarts two years later than normal. That fact, added to rumours about why she'd been held back, became a reason for Jordan to become ostracized during her freshman year. Despite how much she attempted to excel in classes, there would always be mockery meeting her in every corner.

The Latners couldn't have their name being soiled by the wimpy face Jordan was showing, so her two older brothers were tasked to shake away all the depression inside her. They built her up and helped her find a circle to join amongst the freshmen, and once she was set, they ripped away the right to the Latner name from her. She took on the name of Mason, the surname of a secret muggle friend from her childhood, and took on life with the force that the Latners would be proud of.

Now in her seventh year at Hogwarts, Jordan is determined to show that her parents were wrong.

PERSONALITY:
Anthony Stuart is sharp, gentlemanly and a perfect pureblood heir. He is somewhat reserved, preferring to let others answer questions and do most of the talking; however, when his interest is sparked he has a thirst for knowledge and the confidence to talk for days on a subject.

He aspires to know everything about everything and thinks of himself halfway there already. His overwhelming sarcasm and inability to understand jokes (perhaps by choice) makes it easy for him to alienate others, especially when quiet arrogance oozes from every pore. When he isn't given the opportunity to take the lead, he becomes a 'lone wolf' and would work harder than ever to prove that he doesn't need anyone, let alone friends.

BIO/HISTORY:
“All for one” is the Stuart family's motto as it has been for centuries – almost since the founding of Hogwarts. As a clan of Scottish purebloods that is both far-reaching and fertile, they live in the highlands to the north of Hogwarts far away from the influence of muggles.

Anthony is the younger of two brothers, but his brother Alistair (a Hogwarts graduate working abroad in Ancient Runes) decided that being the heir of such a prestigious family was too much responsibility and so passed it on. Shortly after, he took up a new family name so that he could get work – it is fairly well-known that the Stuart family supported Voldemort during his first rise, and Grindelwald before that. They follow the pursuit of power.

With his mother in Azkaban since Anthony was three, his unmarked father was forced to frantically raise him while maintaining his seat on the Wizengamot and fervently protesting his innocence in the war. As a result, he spent most of his time with tutors and teachers from a very early age. He now values time with his family dearly as a result.

Once he received his wand, his father began to spend more time with him – teaching him the Stuarts' preferred pastime of dueling. In the summer after first year, he was entered into a junior (invitation-only) competition, which he won. Once it progressed onto the international stages, it was clear he had a talent; however, he was still for the most part untrained compared to the second and third years present and came 3rd . It was the only time he didn't win as the following years he ranked 1st.

Anthony didn't take part in the advanced competition after his 4th year due to issues regarding his brother's absence and new walk of life as well as his father's ill-health; however, it has instilled a new passion (even a bloodthirst) in him for the sport as he learns all the spells he can during the school year, requesting books of dubious legality from home. This year, his 5th, he is expected by both his teachers and his father to receive full Outstandings in the O.W.Ls he takes.

NOTABLE SKILLS:
Dueling – Anthony's talent which supposedly runs in his family is in dueling. He is quick with his shield spells and even quicker with his offense. His aggressive style often frazzles the opponent, as does his large repertoire of pointless spells that he casts to confuse his enemy.

Defense Against The Dark Arts – Going hand in hand with dueling, it is Anthony's best subject. He studies for it in his free time out of fun, not to pass exams. His written essays are much longer than they need to or should be simply because he is confident of his knowledge, having received top marks in it and aiming for a mastery once he finished school. Although he is excellent at charms as well, he tends to be lazy in it as he thinks the only ones he will need are the ones with offensive use in dueling.

Knowledge of the School – Anthony is prone to wandering. As such, he discovered the locations of the kitchens and the absolute fastest route to each of his electives. Punctuality is the key to a healthy education, after all. He has never been late.

Personality: Adelie is driven and respected by the staff at Hogwarts, and by most of the students for that reason. She has a hard time understanding humor, so when she does make a joke, she often surprises herself more than anyone else. She despises stupidity, thinking those that blow off class or play pranks that harm others as utterly useless. She is a sort of motherly figure towards the friends she does keep close, scolding them when they don’t keep in line, and often correcting their grammar. She has tried to stop over her years at Hogwarts however, though she struggles. She is one of the most loyal friends one could ever have, often sticking around in friendships when the other involved has hurt her repeatedly. She is very trusting and often naïve, thinking almost everyone good until they prove her wrong. She carries with her a sense of high society, despite not being from money or any sort of special breed, she just carries herself with that sort of dignity. She loves fully, and therefore hates furiously when turned against or when her friends are harmed as well.

Biography:
Adelie was born to a witch mother, and a muggle father. Her father had no clue her mother was a witch, as she kept it from him. She didn’t mind at the time, considering herself too in love to care. But after Adelie was born, there was no keeping the secret any longer. Adelie would do strange things. Move about the room, make instruments play for her entertainment, make toys spin, etc. all without touching them. Her mother admitted her lineage to her husband, who accepted the women in his life for who they were, despite the lack of trust that had started it. Adelie was proving to be gifted practically out of the womb, and so it was no surprise when her younger sister, Adrianne, came just 2 years after Adelie, that she was talented as well. Though she didn’t show quite as much promise, she was still performing accidental feats of magic by age 2, and much more destructive ones than Adelie. Such as over boiling the coffee pot, causing the cat to float about the room, and turning the oven up to burn dinner.

On Adelie’s 11th birthday, she received her Hogwarts letter. Her parents were proud and eagerly bought her everything she might need for her magical journey, though her father was a tad bit apprehensive when in Diagon Alley, and Adrianne was more than a little jealous.

During Adelie’s first year at Hogwarts, while trying to make friends, she was dared to take a swim in the Black Lake. Not one to turn down a dare, she dove in, not knowing the mermaids and other magical beings that lurked within. She has no idea what, but something grabbed her, trying to pull her into the depths. She almost drowned when she pulled out her wand and yelled stupefy, a spell she’d read about when studying prior to the start of the year, and managed to swim away. She passed out when she hit the shore, waking up the hospital wing. Since then, she’s had a terrible fear of deep water.

She’s always received top scores, and excelled at Transfiguration. By her 6th year, she began trying to become an animagus, with mixed results so far. She is hoping to master the skill during this final year. The classes she has done poorest in were Herbology, having no green thumb at all, and potions. She just would rather use her wand than work up something in a pot, as she usually put it, glossing over that some potions did things a wand couldn’t. She also avoided such subjects as care of magical creatures and divination, assuming herself to not be skilled in those areas without even trying.

Another notable event was in her 5th year when she became Gryffindor beater for the quidditch team. One their first game against Slytherin, the opposing team’s beater hit a bludger towards her and knocked her out of the sky, unconscious. She has never forgotten the insult, and loathes Slytherin quidditch team because of it. After all, she broke several bones in the incident.

Now coming into her last year at Hogwarts, Adelie is looking forward to graduating in order to get a job possibly as Junior Assistant to the Minister of Magic, although she secretly wishes she could play quidditch professionally for the Montrose Magpies.

One of the things that has followed Adelie since her 3rd year at Hogwarts though, was her sister. Her sister who got into Ravenclaw. Her sister who was blonde, beautiful and skinny. Her sister who played seeker for Ravenclaw and has been one of the best in their history. Her sister who excels in all things art, especially Divination. Adelie has been in Adrianne’s shadow in her mind since her little sister got her letter and came to the school, though Adrianne feels the same way. Her sister is stronger than her, smarter than her, and has more friends than her after all, but Adelie has trouble seeing that side of herself at times.

Personality: Draven is, above all else, a quiet and secluded man. He has the ability to talk to others, but he chooses not to a lot of the time, as he prefers to be alone and left to his own devices when he’s not teaching. When he is teaching, it’s hard to believe he is as quiet of a man as he is, because he is confident and outspoken. He has also been described as a strict teacher, but there haven’t been very many bad reviews on his teaching methods. Draven has always been interested in learning and passing on his knowledge, which is what drew him to teaching at Hogwarts in his favorite subject. Of course, Draven is not without flaws; his quietness gives people the wrong impression and can cause others to avoid him and think he is a rude individual. He has dedicated so much time to study and strengthening his brain that he has neglected his social life and physical exercise, making him physically weak.

Bio\History: Draven was born to a Muggle mother and Wizard father. His mother worked as nurse, and his father worked for the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Mysteries. Draven was raised knowing both worlds. He would take trips to Diagon Alley and Quidditch games with his father and attended Muggle schools until the age of eleven when he got his Hogwarts letter. After that, his parents made arrangements to make it look as though he were going off to some sort of Boarding school and he was off to Hogwarts after getting his school things in Diagon Alley. After that, Draven attended Hogwarts, was sorted into Ravenclaw (his father was in Slytheirn), and devoted most of his time to this studies. When the Battle of Hogwarts took place, Draven was only thirteen and was therefore escorted from the school for his own protection.

When the war was over, Draven continued his studies at school. When his Fifth Year came around, he decided to pursue a career in wandmaking and so when he graduated went to work at Ollivander’s, collecting cores for wands and making some under the careful eye of the elderly wand master. He worked there for four years before he grew tired of the work; it wasn’t that he disliked it, he just needed a change of environment. For a change, Draven decided to apply for the job of Defense Against The Dark Arts Professor. The Headmaster was satisfied with his previous school work and decided to hire him. Draven has now been teaching at Hogwarts for sixteen years and has been made the Head of Ravenclaw House.

Personality: Lanora was a good student, and was a little more gentle than some of her fellow Slytherins. But her determination and ambition are high, and the sorting hat placed her in the right house. She has a skill for always keeping calm in stressful situations. Along with that skill, she had a knack for looking at the bigger picture as well as being open-minded. But there is no denying she can get a little full of herself. Lanora hates being belittled or challenged, she holds and bottles emotions, and normally packs a very sharp tongue. And to be frank, she likes her drink now and again. She can be a bit of a joker when she’s comfortable. Although in truth, her eloquence has worked in her favor. She is a good talker, and she always strove to be better than the ones before her. To her, the best thing is to break stereotypes (which this can get out of hand at times), so she became a teacher and studied Astronomy.

Bio\History: Lenora came from a muggle mother and a wizard father. She has a brother, who was never magically inclined, but at the same time he never wanted to be. Her father was so proud of her, but he also pushed her a little too far. He had what she calls, 'his life for her'. In a way, she rebelled (in more ways than one), and had some very ill feelings towards him. Lenora’s mother died when she was fourteen, leaving some hard feelings and putting pressure on the family. Because of this, she always studied and looked to the stars to feel more connected to her mother. She’ll never admit that she was more hurt by the death than she showed. But Lenora vowed to make herself happy (as her mother wanted) and not break under what others wanted.

FULL NAME: James MacFusty

BLOOD: Pureblood
ALIGNMENT: Good

HOUSE: Gryffindor

PERSONALITY: Sycamore wands “lose their brilliance” if their user is too mundane, too stagnant for them. For the youngest, most boisterous MacFusty, that would never be a problem – he chases after danger like a dog with a stick (minus the tongue-wagging). No thrill is too huge, no task impossible, no monster to frightening for the brave Jimmy MacFusty!

They say that James is not quite right, that he doesn't look before he leaps but charges in like a bull. He's easy-going, certainly, but that doesn't mean he isn't a danger to those around him... not that he seems to care. Friends who can't keep up with him aren't worth his time nor interest. His utter lack of care towards his academic work (and obssession over the practical side) is by no means a reflection of his intellect; however, his common sense has vanished – if it ever existed in the first place.

He's also oh-so-very loud.

BIO/HISTORY:
The MacFusty clan are dragonkeepers up in the Hebrides Islands caring for the large population of Hebridean Black Dragons that are native to that area. While their blood isn't as pure as other families – they have been known to marry half-bloods and muggleborns in the past – their profession carries a great deal of weight in the wizarding world.

James (Jimmy, as he prefers to be called) is the youngest of six children by about twelve years. His brothers and sisters had all passed through Hogwarts by the time he was accepted, spreading out evenly throughout all four houses. There was never any doubt that Jimmy would be sorted into Gryffindor. He lacked the subtlety for Slytherin, the razor-sharp wit for Ravenclaw, but there was one thing he had in spades: fearlessness.

Throughout his Hogwarts career, he excelled in the practical side of work – particularly Care of Magical Creatures and Charms, though an outdoor lifestyle made Herbology fairly enjoyable for him. His heavy build made him particularly suited for a Keeper role in Quiddich, which he often played with his siblings.

More importantly however is the amount of danger a young teenager could find himself in – and Jimmy was not short on it. From dares to swim into the lake, trying to climb one of the towers of Hogwarts (failed, caught), doing a Wronski feint (a partial success with a broken arm at the end), sneaking into the Forbidden Forest (he saw unicorns and they liked him!) and most recently, in his fifth year, fall down the Grand Staircase while it was in motion.

That's not forgetting about his summer apprenticeship with his family's dragons. Jimmy is the only one who wants anything to do with the practical side of their inherited profession and the unofficial heir, at least when it comes to owning his parents' lucrative reserve in the future. He returns to Hogwarts this year with an impressive collection of new burns and scars after helping out with new hatchlings at the Romanian centre.

NOTABLE SKILLS:
Care of Magical Creatures – Amazingly received top marks in the subject for every year of his schooling. He's not half-bad at charms, either, but animals – especially magical ones – must sense his passion for learning about them as they seem to flock to him.

Climbing – An oddly specific talent to have but he did make it half-way up that tower before he was caught by Filch.

Dragon Keeping – Although it has little use outside of his intended occupation in the future, it comes along with a whole host of unusual and sometimes difficult spells, such as ones to wrangle with a dragon or put it to sleep, that might be useful.

Dignatia has always been extremely curious, and much to the embarrassment of her family, she has always been a bit fascinated by the idea of people living without magic. It's not that she has any desire to do so herself, but a curiosity about how it would work. Her curiosity has often gotten her in trouble, for being 'nosey' and inserting herself in other people's business.

Dignatia is ambitious, but more in the sense of achieving everything she is capable of then in the power hungry sense. That isn't to say she ignores or doesn't understand the dynamics of power. No graduate of Slytherin house could. However, unlike many of her housemates she has always believed that one gets more flies with honey then vinegar, and behaves in a corresponding faction. She is a strict teacher, but if someone is making an effort she will work with them to help them improve.

Dignatia has a tendency to be a bit absent minded at times, loosing herself in the proof of a new Arithmancy theory or a good novel, and loosing track of what is going on around her.

Dignatia longs to restore the reputation of her house as leaders and achievers, and remove the stigma that the high percentage of Slytherin Death Eaters created.

Bio\History:

Dignatia was in her seventh year when the chamber of secrets was opened. The talk among her parents crowd about the possible return of "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named" influenced her choice of Arithmancy Master to apprentice under. She knew that as a Pureblooded Slytherin, her parents would expect her to take the Dark Mark and become a Death Eater. She had no interest in the Dark Arts whatsoever, and wanted no part of a war to remove muggleborns and muggles from the world. She therefore chose to apprentice under Pythagoria Wittlesworth, a noted American Aritmancer.

She found the American Wizarding World, at least in California, to be much less isolated from the muggle world. While there were private bars and restaurants for wizarding folk, if one wanted to be able to cook for oneself, one had to be able to navigate a grocery store. She was exposed to the technological wonders of modern muggle society, and her curiosity drove her to find out more about them. One of her current projects is to try and come up with a magically powered device that will function like a cell phone, and/or a way to ward muggle devices so they will work in the presence of magic. As of yet, she has had no luck, possibly due to her lack of full understanding of 'muggle magic' as she tends to think of it.

She stayed in America while the war played out, and was approached about the Arithmancy Position a couple of years afterwards. She was told that she could have the position on the condition she agreed to become Head of Slytherin. There were frightenly few Slytherins who had kept their noses completely clean during the war, and the current Headmaster was eager to have a Head of Slytherin House that would set a good example.

She is strict, but fair, both as a teacher and head of house, and always encourages others to achieve their own full potential. She firmly believes the truly great make others believe that they, too, can be great.
