Hi, my name is Shadow Kitten, and I love writing stories, but do not have the talent for roleplaying, so I thought I'd just write a few of my short stories here, as I see one can post just about anything in the gallery.
My first short story is just an idea at present, and so I'm open to any comments or suggestions the readers may have as to making my story sound better.
It is named: No Emotions Zone
The girl looked around her, at the smoking, rubble littered waste that was once her hometown of Sirenn.
The whole city ( Sirenn was quite a large city ) had been destroyed by strange invaders who must be from another planet, as they had weapons which the planet of Kilse ( a small planet in the Miritos solar system, in an obscure part of the Milky Way galaxy, on which Sirenn was the largest city ) had never encountered before.
The girl was named Allexian. She was only 11 in Earth years, and she was now a homeless orphan, as her whole family had just been destroyed in the envasion, and she was in fact, the lone survivor of Sirenn's populase.
Alex knew that the people in the 6 other smaller cities of Kilse, if they had not already been destroyed, would not beleive that anyone could survive such devistation, and would not beleive that there could be any survivors, much less a very young girl being the only survivor, and they would , instead, be much more likely to beleive that she was a spy sent by the enemy, and would therefore be likely to kill her.
So, Alex decided that she must sneak into one of the other cities, and steal a spaceship, and leave her planet, and go somewhere else. She had decided upon making Earth her place of refuge, as she had heard that the humans, there were very friendly to extraterrestrials, and would give all non-dangerous e.t.'s as kind treatment as one of thier own species.
Yes, Alex had decided that she would escape the desolation of her own planet, to the haven of Earth.
She started walking, carfully making her way around dead bodies, and debris, and beginning to wonder exactly how much radiation had been generated by the deadly explosions, and whether the radiation level might be high enough to be toxic to her. She also begin to think of other things which she would need for the long walk to the nearest city, Temonnz, which was 137 mi. away.
After a while of saerching through debris, Alex had found most of the things she needed, which included: a lazer pistol, a first aid kit, a few packs of storable emergency food, which she was hopeful, as thier seals had not been penctured, were still uncontaminated, a matal canteen of water, and an extra pair of shoes, as she was sure that, even though her shoes were made of titanium alloy, they might wear out, or break, or something, and she must be prepared. As some last neccessary items, Alex decided to bring a coil of copper wire, a coil of rope, and a flashlight. All of these items were then stowed in a water proof bag, which Alex had the good fortune to find, and Alex started off on her long walk, which she hoped to end in her successful escape to a better place.
Alex had hoped to find a gas-mask, as she was afraid of contracting radiation poisoning, but had not been so fortunate as to find one that was not damaged, so she hoped that her usually good luck would keep her safe, and made sure to watch were she was going, and not go anywhere where the air was very dense or where the ground seemed to glow, as she knew that those were two of the signs of radiation contamination.
After a few hours of walking, Alex had left all signs of Kilsian establishment, or the remains thereof, far behind, and was now walking across an open expanse of arid, chared land, with a cold wind blowing in her face, making her blue, leather coat feel very thin and inadequate against it's harsh force.
It was not long, before big storm clouds began to make the already overcast sky darker, and thunder began to rumble fearcely, making the already desolate plain now appear forbidding.
In a few minutes, it began to rain, and Alex began to wish that she hadn't embarked on this, what was turning out to be, miserable journey.
Wet to the skin, cold as ice, and exausted, after walking at least 50 miles, Alex looked for a place to hole up, as dawn was approaching, turning the pitch black sky to a leaden gray.
The rain had stopped for a few hours, at one point during the night, but now, it had started up again, in the form of a dismal drizzle.
The mud was knee deep in some places, and Alex kept having trouble even staying on her feet, and kept slipping and sliding, so that she was soon covered in gooey, nasty mud, besides being wet, cold, dead tired, and quite hungry. She had almost despaired of finding a dry place to rest, and was considering just going on for a few more hours, until she could find a good place, further on, when, seemingly, out of no where, a girl came walking - er - wading across the muddy expanse of empty land.
To be continued.
