So, as I was saying... I'm hoping to do a Constantine-ish roleplay and what I mean by that is that demons, angels, and humans will be involved in a struggle that the humans are pretty much oblivious to... except the ones who aren't. The slots are limited because I don't want more than five players, including myself, at any given time because then people get left behind or drop out or just refuse to post and then the play dies. OH! Also, it's because I won't be GMing other than to keep order because this is going to be one of those plays that hopefully EVERYONE will have a hand in driving, and can take off on their own side stories or throw in their own plot twists... That way none of us ever know for sure what is going to happen. :)

As far as requirements go? I'd like people who can write at least a six sentence paragraph per post (though more is fantastic so long as you have something to say and aren't just describing the texture of each blade of grass) and can post at least once a day so that we don't have people waiting for days tied up with your character. If you can't post for a while and know it then just stick your character some place out of the way and let us know. If you want to drop out at any point PLEASE let me know so I can clear you off the game in an orderly fashion (usually by killing you off) and usher someone else in if they want to join. I won't take it hard, it's your prerogative and I don't want players around if they aren't having fun. :) If you don't let me know something I'll only give you a week to come back before I kill you off. ^_^

If you don't know if your plot twist will throw things off and are afraid to put it in for fear of that just pm me, I'm a friendly person. ;)

ON TO THE PLOT!

My character is going to be a Sensitive, meaning she can sense and see things other normal people can't. Why? Well, because somebody thought it would be funny. The idea is that you can be any of these things... a demon, an angel, sensitive, a fallen, or a gate keeper.

The rules are these: Angels and demons are not allowed to do more than suggest, give little pushes that send humans towards the light or the dark. Possession is a nono on both sides, but it does happen and that's breaking the rules and therefore someone has to do something about it. This is where the Sensitives and Gate Keepers come into play. It's the Gate Keeper's job to see to balance, to make sure no one is breaking the rules and if they are the Gate Keepers send out Hunters to take whatever naughty demon or angel is breaking the rules to their respective bosses. However, there are few Gate Keepers and though they can see much... they can't see everything. Sensitives who were... lucky... enough to come across Constantine were trained in how to perform exorcisms and banish angels... even absolve fallen if need be. However, this has put Sensitives at an awkward position, either you're believed insane or you're expected to take a side which means either demons or angels will be on your ass... Unfortunately, if you take a side you're tipping the balance and you piss off the Gate Keepers and end up Hunted. Being a Sensitive isn't as awesome as some might think... Either you play the game by the Gate Keeper's rules or you're likely to be turned into a Hunter yourself... which means your soul will be ripped out and trapped in his collection and you'll be a puppet... fun stuff.

As I said, most Sensitives are believed to be completely insane in some form or another and are committed or heavily medicated at an early age. Those who were smart enough to hide the things they saw are few and far between... but then again so are sensitives in the first place. No one knows exactly why a person is sensitive except that usually you're born with it because a parent was sensitive or a near death experience triggers it because it was laying dormant there inside you.... or maybe you died and came back when the hospital restarted your heart but you'd already crossed over so you brought something back? Any of these things can open up your mind.

Also, Sensitives aren't all the same... There are sensitives that can see the recent past or soon to be future, there are sensitives who can't yet SEE anything but they feel it... these are the ones that when they meet with a near death experience it triggers them. There are those that can see angels and demons, there are those who can see auras, there are those that can hear thoughts, there are those that can walk in limbo while they dream, all sorts of things... Though moving objects is more the realm of angels or demons rather than in the reach of human minds... unless maybe they have a little of either of those in them. That's the theory actually, that before the Nephilim were killed off some of them bred with humans and the gene just kept getting passed down, or maybe a fallen tapped your mom?

If you choose to be a demon, you'll be contracted to one of the Sensitive players. If you want to play an evil demon with no contract that's fine, however... your powers will be limited on the mortal coil and you'll have to be possessing someone in order to be walking about... You can't cross fully over without help from either a sensitive on the side of the demons or a contract enabling you to do so.

If you're an angel you'll be someone's guardian and because they can see you, you've grown close and you are giving them guidance.

If you're a Gate Keeper you'll be keeping an eye on things and stepping in when need be... Since Gate Keepers usually avoid being involved in issues aside from keeping balance you might want to play another character also if you're playing a Gate Keeper. I may play the Gate Keeper myself since they have a lot of power to keep it from being abused... We'll see.

If you're a fallen, maybe you got interested in one of the Sensitive players enough to side/partner with them or you're friends with their demon or angel companion?

If you're a Sensitive then you'll be taking a side or trying to play middle ground... or maybe you just recently started being able to see because of some near death experience or such.

Summary of Possible Abilities

Keep any original powers from being Godmod worthy by giving said abilities downfalls please if you're a demon or angel.

Sensitives can have most mild abilities such as seeing auras, seeing the recent past, seeing one of many possible soon to be futures, reading emotion off an object, feeling the emotions of others, occasional reading of minds, walking other plains when sleeping, sensing the approach of angels, demons, hunters, etc. Also, ALL Sensitives can see angels and demons for what they really are.They cannot use mind control, shape-shifting, control of elements, lifting or moving objects with minds, or healing themselves. Those belong to angels or demons.

Angels (along with other abilities, original or the ones suggested) can heal, revive(so long as the body isn't destroyed or the soul didn't move on), give feelings of happiness and joy, put people to sleep, and possess a spiritually strong body.

Demons (along with other abilities, original or the ones suggested) can heal, curse, give waking nightmares, give a push towards sinful feelings like envy or lust, put people to sleep, and can possess a spiritually weak body.

Gate Keepers can have all the abilities of sensitives and can open passages to heaven or hell to toss angels or demons back through. They can steal souls so long as they aren't already claimed by a side, but they only do that when pissed. They can inflict pain with a touch and heal themselves or others. They don't die, fatal injuries just slow them down and destroying their body only leads them to form another. Only Archangels, Archdemons, the big guys up or downstairs, and other Gate Keepers can kill them. Also, the Hunters don't die... think of them as puppets that can put themselves back together. They don't kill and they don't think for themselves, they do only what the Keeper tells them. This is why I'm only allowing ONE other Gate Keeper aside from mine and if the power of the Keeper is abused I'll mod their death myself. :)

Personality: He is a man who simply wants to protect humanity. He takes a special interest in protecting children. He has in the past been known to throw an authorized angel or demon through their portals because they possessed a child. He is honestly willing to instead of throwing some angels or demons back o their homes he will actually bring some of the other to earth. The motto "The Scales of Ma'at must always be balanced." is his own creed. He actually cares about the sensitives but he is not afraid to hurt one if it means the balance is maintained.
Abilities:
Standard set for Gatekeepers.
Window Beyond. This power is done by partially opening a portal. it is a window to either heaven or hell. Allowing those with the sight to see their loved ones or what really exists on the other side.

History: Damien was born in Australlia in the year 1820. He is from the small village that is now known as Sydney. He was born with the latent powers of a keeper. At the age of 19 they woke up while he was in the outback on a camping trip. A snake bit him and he knew he was going to die, as his life began slipping away he saw a young girl walk towards him and sit by him. He saw her for what she really was and that was The Reaper angel Azrael. "You know I hate your kind you don't ever actually die." That was all he remembered before he woke up four months later and he was in a new body but this time in the United States. He woke up in the home of another Keeper who then began explaining everything to him. So he moved on and began maintaining the balances of the universe.

Name: Alexandra Briel O'Shae

Appearance:

Personality: Quiet, broody, short tempered, stubborn, determined, can seem unfeeling or stand-offish towards others... until you get to know her. Under her frosty exterior is actually a kind hearted, protective, and mischievous person.
Abilities:
Like all Sensitives, she can see the truth behind the human faces that angels and demons put on.
She draws whatever comes to mind and sometimes the things she draws come true, she doesn't realize she can see bits of the future or past and she can't do it on purpose.
She occasionally feels what someone else is feeling or stumbles across their thoughts, but again not on purpose and not at will... it only happens rarely.
She was trained by Ruben to exorcise lesser demons and banish lesser angels. She knows basic protection against either being, wards in many different runes, and holy symbols.

History:
Shae was only four when she started seeing things, it happened after she'd been diagnosed with cancer. The doctors said it was too aggressive to save her but they tried chemo anyway, it didn't help. Not too long after, she was out with her parents shopping and she wandered off and ran into Ruben. The Keeper, usually unswayed by mortal issues, broke the one law he had... He tipped the balance and saved her life. Her parents found her alone, passed out in the food court with no memory of what had happened but the next month her results came back... The cancer was gone, not just in remission... gone. Shae spent the rest of her life actively ignoring the things she saw, she didn't want to see and her thoughts on the matter was if she could see them, they could see her. No demon or angel knew that she could see them but she slipped up... Shae had been walking on her way home from school when she'd heard a struggle in an ally. She'd gone to look and found a woman being assaulted by a man who was mostly hidden in shadow. However, when she called out to him prepping to use her pepper spray, he'd turned and she'd seen his face... and what he really was. The demon abandoned the woman and came after her, thankfully she'd reached up and grabbed the cross on her necklace out of fear. She'd used it as a shield, not knowing that her instinctive action had actually helped. The demon vanished and the man stopped, dazed and confused... and drunk. Ruben appeared in her bedroom like magic that same night and he explained that he had to take her away for her own good, to keep her from being attacked by demons or used by either side. She went willingly and has been considered missing since age 13... She died her hair and doesn't use her full name. Since then she has been training and working for Ruben, sending angels and demons away and helping maintain balance.

Personality: Purah is the angel of forgetfulness, so she has a habit of forgetting things as well as making others forget things in her presence. Despite being a low-ranking angel, she is still an angel and so she has her moments of divine grace. She is a caring and loving individual and despite some of her comrades' more hardline approach to dealing with mortals and daemons she tries to be as lenient as possible towards everyone. She hates to resort to violence and/or possesion partially because she is rather clumsy with magic and divine powers and is likely to hurt herself or others when attempting to use any of the more dangerous magics. She has a close friendship with the significantly more powerful angel Araqiel, whom she views as an older brother. Purah also has the habit of scrawling various notes across her body in an attempt to thwart her natural forgetfulness.

Abilities: Being the Angel of Forgetfulness she has the power to make others forget periods of time either temporarily or permanently. Even her aura has been known to make people temporarily forget what they are doing or where they are. She also has the power to revive, heal most wounds and possess a body.

History: Although she has the seemingly inane dominion over memories, it is actually relied upon quite frequently by the upper class angels when dealing with pesky mortals. They use her to make important mortals forget damaging events, traumatic experiences and other memories that might interfere with the agenda of heaven. She is also used as a sort of 'do over machine' for when meetings with mortals go wrong. However what the other angels like to ignore is that if you make someone forget too many things, parts of them start being forgotten as well. It always pains her to have to torture unwitting mortals in this fashion as they often have no idea they are being tortured. Because of this, Purah has been trying for the past century to be assigned a mortal to watch over so she would be exempt from (most of) the machinations of the higher angels. For the better half of that century her requests had been ignored on the grounds of "Lack of experience and control over her own powers."

Finally she was able to befriend an angel skilled in the ways of divine magic, Araqiel, and convince him to help her improve her powers. Progress was slow and unimpressive. She would grasp a concept one lesson and then forget it completely the next. Eventually she made significant progress based on muscle memory alone and was approved for assignment of a mortal to watch over. Finally after decades of lessons and decades of waiting she was assigned her first mortal to look after....

I hope this is okay, I know it's kinda cheesy and lame but it's the best I could come up with right now. If you don't like this one, I'll be happy to submit a new one but that might take a lil longer.
