Well don't you dare feel bad for making me wait. :) It happens and you know life comes first, I'll never fault you for it! You're doing fantastically. Takin gthree classes sounds like a good idea - a full load for something like writing can be too much... Especially if you're worrying about roleplaying and your parents. ^^ Doing for yourself isn't so selfish as some will make you think.
As for Destiny, I lovedd it when it came out and during the Beta... Then I had a time where I really hated it. I thought my expectations weren't met, etc.... but then, to be honest, I got back to just hanging with a few friends, shooting some enemies of the light, finding new activities to enjoy, working for new gear, and I kind of just fell back into a rhythm with it. I'm glad I did too, it feels good to enjoy a game again.
As for enlistment, I know my training with the Navy will be 8-10 weeks at the Great Lakes base near/in/around Chicago, IL. After that, I go to the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA, about 2h outside of San Francisco. I've heard nothing but amazing things about living at the DLI, especially for a longer time period. They say that even though it's a hefty workload, you still get to enjoy your time there and that's good to me - I love work when it's in that field. ^_^
