[OOC] Digital or Real?

Ooh... I like it as far as the game goes. ^_^ He would be of a mind that he can do anything he likes because it's a game, but maybe she stops a group of thugs who managed to recognize him and then make it her "mission" to really make him realize that being a jerk in a game will evebtually reflect into your real personality and change you into a true jerk. Or something along thise lines of how it's still not okay to act that way, even digitally. I think we're ready to start the short growing-up arc. ^_^ I figure we can do a scene or two that shows how close they were as kids - I feel like these two could frame the absolute perfect "boy/girl next door" couple until she leaves without saying so much as a word to him or anybody. As kids/teens it would seem neither could possibly picture a future without the other... so imagine his absolute devestation. Without planning too much into it, I was thinking that she would leave on Graduation Day, and we could do a small piece of the story there, where he stops at her house and they go together, and as soon as the celebrating js over, she slips away. The next day her calls and her parents don't know or won't tell him where she is, she doesn't answer her phone, e-mails, etc.

I think she'd say goodbye and try to explain her leaving, likely for academic purposes I mean. And as long as the online interaction isn't all about her trying to "fix" him, I'm okay with what we have. I'm uneasy about it but that's because I don't like plots too centered around a single character so hopefully your guy can shape up, otherwise there's little initiative for my character to invest energy in forming a relationship. I would say don't get too far ahead, you don't want to be writing the story yourself after all. An idea is great but we should see how everything flows.

Blech... I hate having a single "main character." XD I have one RP it works on simply because we take it in a very nice way. It's based on a conflict between two characters (both my partner's) and how everybody around is affected (little deeper than that, really) and there's a wonderful break in the plot where it will switch to have a new center ^^ anywho! No fear. Th story here isn't fixing my character, it's them discovering their old connection. It won't be an instant change, but norbwill it take pages upon pages. Likely the changebwoukd start the moment she said anything in regards to it and would progressively fix his playstyle in an efficient manner. Plus, no worries on the planning thing. I may have ideas that I fiendishly think to incorporate later, but they will never be forced - I always base them on a scenario and they'll be tossed away the moment that they're the plot shifts tondrop their validity.

So...I guess we're about ready to start? Yeah? Them in London, middle school? How do we want them first to meet? In a club or a school activity or something outside of school itself?

Hm... yup! All seems ready!! ^_^ So excited. I think a club activity would be a great way to start things off - common interest and all. Might be neat if it was some kind of lingual club, as I know Englad is more progressive with teaching kids new languages than America and in a few decades I'm positive that language learning will be even more encouraged throughout the world and more people would take an interest (because of how important global affairs are and whatnot)... but as children they might just like it at this point, rather than think about things on a global level. XD If you have another idea, please feel free to use it. 8D

We could take the season into consider. For example, if it's snowy and around Christmas, there could be some celebration going on that both of them end up attending thanks to parents or friends or school. Or if it's summer and sunny out, there could be a sort of potluck picnic going on, maybe if they're in the same neighbor or area, they could meet that way. Or if we did want to go with a real club, they may be more keen would be something to do with gaming be it cards or something handheld since it could tie into them getting more interested in games in the future.

*headdesk* XD I should start replying when my mind is working better - those are all great ideas. I think, story-wise, the gaming idea would be the best route to go. Or we could do one of those first ideas (I would say the summer/spring potluck one, despite my love for Winter) and then in their mid-teen years hit on the gaming setup, seeing as either would work. I was thinking if we do the summer potluck one, my kid would likely be playing on his handheld as his parents are trying their damnedest to make him socialize and be a person. XD ... Story of my early childhood, by the way. :p I'm outgoing now, definitely was the kid on his DS/Gameboy all the time back then though. Heheh.

I think you're keen on the potluck so we'll try that and then come the new school year, they could find themselves in a gaming club together, best of both words I suppose.

I would honeetly be fine with either direction. That one works though ^^ I don't wanna sacrifice plot or realism for a simple setting change. :p I figure all angles will have some way to tie it in, seeing as the world they live in is one of... the fuuuutuuuurrre oooooohhhhhhh *waves arms around like a super spooky ghost*

Just an update: I fully intend to stay with this. ^_^ Sorry I haven't been able to post yet - I've been working on catching up everywhere when I get the time. Don't worry! I won't have any issues keeping up here - right now, the problem lies in how my schedules with school and work leave me with REALLY awkward free time that are sporadic and at the horrible in-between point of how much can really be done during them. So, I'm going to see if I can get my work schedule juuuuust right with my school so that I have on-days and off-days for "me time" and super good big posty fun-fun time. ^_^

I hope my opening post is sufficient! I sat and thought for a bit on how exactly we could get the two together - seeing as they weren't in a club yet - and I wanted to plant the seeds for the personality in young James' life. ^^ Oooooh I can't wait to get this rolling now! :D
