The year is now 2368, and Earth (as historical records have it) is left as a near barren wasteland that was inherited by the Elite of the world, with the rest of the population sent into outer space to colonize and find new hope, over three-hundred years ago. Over the course of those years, political manipulation and diversity would see that what was left of humanity be scattered and wayward, nomadic and xenophobic of other colonies. Eventually, this lead to degradation and seclusion that somehow evolved into the genders being torn apart and dedicated to waging a war amongst each other, with the origins so rooted in mystery and confusion that no one living truly knows what started it, or when it even occurred.

Only thing that ended up mattering, was that it all boiled down to man and woman fighting each other, and finding means through scientific reproduction to sustain their numbers. Of course over time, this lead to problems within the genetic fields, especially diversity, given a couple hundred years of self-replicating in test tubes and splicing. It turned into a war that focused on a few core, central beliefs that motivated both sides to refuse letting peace truly form. War crimes became common practice, amnesty was taboo, and prisoners would be taken and secured merely for their genetic diversity in the labs, only to be disposed of once used for their purpose.

Over time, this led to the development of weapons meant to be waged in space. Not because ground wars on planets were long, trivial, and drained resources and numbers swiftly for just a few victories; in fact, those were only secondary reasons. The largest, was because the wars would often leave one sided stranded while the other maintained space superiority and bombarded from orbit. Leaving the planets torn and wasted away. Mobile 'suits' of armored technology that resembled humanoids; swift and agile space ships that reflected previous science fiction cult favorites, and more often than not, over-the-top spaceships of abnormal size meant to carry and support an unimaginable amount of people. Hit-and-run war tactics became the new fashion, and with it came a whole different field of political manipulation and war field tactics. Garrisons were rare, and planets were often kept with a small sized colony, just enough to mine supplies and resources while staying off grid. If found, they were usually able to scuttle their establishments in time and flee before a military body could capitalize on the advantage that would naturally be found in such a situation.

This, however, would lead a stale-mate in the war that's lasted for half a century now. Resources were getting low on both ends. The Queen's Holy Royal Armada, or Q.H.R.A. is on constant border patrol on the last few planets in the women's domain, why the men's Front-line Destructive Fleet, or F.D.F. are in the same fashion. Neither side is ready to commit to a full-on war, considering the lacking reserves to re-fit and repair. Talk of diplomacy has begun to rise up in both political courts, though the Queen of the women's royalty has remained silent, and the republic that governs the men has not reached a single decisive verdict.

To which, comes into play our story. A massive civilian transport that's able to house a couple million people, has been on constant tour in the woman's space. Built back on Earth in the first days of the colonial period, and with it are many mysteries held within the ship's massive size. Somewhere deep within the areas sealed off both to disrepair and out-dated technology that conflicted with modern security measures, was a single cryo-genic tube among many several others that had long since gone off-line due to lack of power. This one, however, was dedicated just enough power to remain undetected by the ship's systems and tech's. A pod that held a pilot of a proto-type suit that was stored away in some dark compartment of the same ship, meant to stay in hibernation until a day that required himself and the others to suit up and repel any military threat. Out of one-hundred pilots trained for such a mission, he was the last one.
That's where my thoughts become silent and stilled. Mainly because I would prefer to have a partner willing to create and flesh this story and universe with me before I press any further. As the title says, this is high sci-fi. From an initial story influenced by Vandread, and the elements of the tech and armor modeled after any and all shows and games that feature mechas as the primary source of war and conflict. Space is the big part of this, though I'm perfectly fine with this going to planet-side on multiple environments, as well.

I can post frequently and often. I ask for quality, and dedication. I understand things come up in life, and I do not ask for "this is the most important thing in your life". I just ask that if you PM or drop a message in here, that you mean to say "I'm ready to make this a thing, a thing that I want to see through from start to end, no matter how bumpy the road". I have no specific elements I'd like to see in here. Romance, horror, action, political, mystery... whichever. I find the best kind of stories let it naturally flesh and evolve, and letting all aspects of literature take root as the story and characters grow.

Naturally, the character role that I want filled from my partner's primary character is female. I find that women often write the best female characters, and would prefer a female writer. I intend to write from the perspective of several other characters, but my PC will be the one mentioned in cryo-stasis. It isn't a requirement to write for more than one character, but it would help the story if you're open to the idea.

I have fond memories of the Vandread series, so using something similar as a setting does pique my interest.

Depending on where you wanted to take the story, I'd like to give it a shot. =P
