I actually only have the second and third pages, so I will just put up the posts leading up to and when Hiro and Marina are in the Captain's cabin. Here are our other character's profiles. I noticed we never actually wrote them up for Marina or Hiro. Should we do that?
Name: Nikolaos Kokinopoulos
Age: 26
Appearance: With strong shoulders and sturdy 5' 11" frame, his features are typically pleasing to the eye. His a masculine jaw with a rough layer of stubble and full lips add to his charm while his warm olive skin and the slight downwards tilt to his eyes give him an almost sleepy "country" look. His thick hair falls in loose waves and spirals to the bottom of his shoulder blades and is dark brown with auburn undertones, making it shine a rich, deep copper in the sunlight. His eyes are rather unusual in that their honey brown color is struck through diagonally with what looks like shards of an apple green- a form of heterochromia.
His clothing is simple with comfortable, worn drawers and a loose cotton shirt with threadbare embroidery along the collar and cuffs held on by a thin evergreen sash, all covered by a black wool coat on cold nights. His black leather boots appear newer than the rest of his gear and seem to have been “borrowed” from a royal navy officer.
Personality: Fairly level and mature, but he is not without a temper. He is responsible and rational, tending to take control in hectic situations easily. Aside from being a level man, he is quite genial and warm- that is, until you cross him.
Biography: being the brilliant son of a pioneering Greek farmer-turned-merchant, there was a lot of room for Niko to make a name for himself, but he doubts his ancestors ever meant for that name to take to the sea. To end a violent relationship with his father, he ran away from home for a year when he was sixteen. When he returned to make amends, he found his father strung up like swine and his mother stripped and bloody on her bed. Being under suspicion for the crimes, he took to the docks and signed up to the first Coaster he could find, starting his sailing career. A few of years later, the vessel he was manning ran across a pirate band and he joined their crew over the option of ending up in Jones’ locker. From there, he found the Akuma Kaze and has since earned the rank of Boatswain.
Skills: While he is a sure shot with a pistol, he prefers to use small knives and can throw them with excellent accuracy. He is fairly well versed in the plants, animals and dangers of the islands about the Caribbean. He can also roughly converse in two of the local island languages along with being completely fluent in Greek and English.
Name: Elijah Corby
Age: 17
Appearance: Standing at a mere 5'2" and weighing in at around 130 pounds, Elijah doesn't strike an imposing figure. His build is lean but strong, with lithe toned muscle and sturdy but supple limbs. Prominent cheek bones, a fine “button” nose and oval face combined with full lips and wide eyes give him a boyish charm that isn’t helped by his height. His skin is a light tan that is smooth except for his hands and forearms, which are covered with a smattering of scars he gained from being too careless and curious around hot metals and too reckless in skirmishes. His hair is a rich brown-black that falls to just below his shoulders, with the sections at the temples braided and pulled to the back of his head where they meet then hang to rest with the bulk of his hair, accompanied with two thin feathers. His round eyes are a hazy mix of grey and spring green and lined with thick, dark lashes.
His clothing is simple but sturdy, with fairly slim fitting, dark brown pants and a cream linen shirt covered by a patterned maroon vest. His boots are scuffed and worn, but hold up well in the damp ocean climate while his dusky blue coat protects him from the chilled sea-spray, even if it is a couple of sizes too big.
Personality: El is headstrong and usually rather upbeat, tumbling through life in what seems to be a haphazard manner. While he has a general care-free and “go with the flow” mentality, he works well under pressure, being able to think on his feet and improvise with ease. Although, it is hard for him to stay serious and focused for long, as his mischievous nature and odd sense of humor are apt to shine through at any given moment.
Biography: Coming from a long line of blacksmiths, El learned about metals from a young age, but he never found the same love for them as the rest of his family. Despite their pleadings, he took off to fulfill his dream of being a sailor, and joined the intriguing Akuma Kaze. Upon realizing exactly what kind of ship it was, his conviction never changed and he is doing his best to fit in and become a master of the high seas.
Skills: He is very nimble and flexible, capable of virtually flying over the deck and rigging. He is learning how to use a pistol and sabre from the ship’s officers. Aside from this, he has proved useful with his knowledge of locks and other simple machines, which he can pull apart and put together with a fair amount of ease.
Name: Victor Black
Age: 28
Appearance: Victor is a tall, muscular man with platinum blonde hair and icy blue eyes. His hair is choppy and cuts off at his chin, being cut shorter in the back than in the front, and layered messily. He has slightly tanned skin and a scar that runs along his torso from his right shoulder to beneath his ribs, a memento from his past. His usual attire consists of a baggy white sailor's shirt, a simple worn black vest, a pair of black breeches, a thin gold hoop in his ear(refer to Antonio's description for the reason my characters all have this), and some flat boots.
Personality: Victor is a strict individual who doesn’t stand for any form of insubordinate behavior. He enjoys keeping order and refuses to let chaos run amok. Even through all of his hard and strict shell he has a soft spot for people in trouble, especially those who are much smaller and weaker looking than him.
Past: Victor came from a small family who inhabited one of England's many Asian colonies. He lost his father to the British Navy, the man dying out at sea and leaving him and his older brother Ian to look out for themselves after their mother's passing. Sadly Victor was left out of the will, Ian gaining what few belongings and money their family now owned.
Years later, due to a love of adventure and a lack of employment he came to work on one of the many ships that visited the island. This very ship is the one where he gained his scar, having stood up for one of his new-found crewmates who was being assaulted violently and had stepped into the path of a sword directed at said man.
After that much of his history is unknown, at least until he joined Hiro's crew and worked his way up to Quartermaster.
Skills: Victor is a polyglot, able to fluently speak many languages such as English, Japanese, Cantonese, and Spanish. (This is due to the many cultures that traded and/or lived in his home town.) He also is quite strong, much stronger than the average man his size. Lastly he has an inept ability to tell if someone is lying, and getting information out of someone.
Name: Antonio Garcia
Age: 24
Appearance: Antonio is a toned, slim, and tan man with slicked back mahogany hair and amber eyes. He's usually found in a baggy white sailor's shirt, a pair of worn black breeches, a brightly colored sash he ties around his waist, a catholic rosary around his neck, a single gold hoop piercing in his ear(This actually is used later if the sailor's body falls off the ship and their corpse washes up on shore. It's supposed to pay for them a proper burial.), and a pair of flat brown boots. His hands are tinged grey from his dealings with gunpowder and he has several burn marks along his arms.
Personality: Toni is a very superstitious man, even though he's loyal to the bitter end. He has a bit of a short fuse (Pun intended). Antonio has moments where he can be downright mean, but normally he has a reason for it and often it's because someone said/ did something to anger him. There are days however when he reverts back to that polite, and kind of flirtatious, personality he was when he was younger. During this he's kind of annoying and the mood doesn't last long due to him annoying someone enough where they start yelling or do something rash and the angry typhoon that is Antonio rears it's ugly head again.
Past: Antonio was born and raised in Italy where he grew up in a large and annoying family. This resulted in him leaving as soon as possible and traveling, until the young man stumbled across an elderly man who owned an armory of sorts. The Italian felt sorry for him and ended up offering to help around the place seeing as the old man lived all alone. This is where he learned all he knows about firearms. After the mans death there was nothing left to hold him there and he ventured farther from home until finding the Akuma Kaze.
Skills: He's a brilliant marksman and has an uncanny knowledge on how to fix or build many different types of firearms.
