[OOC] To the Stars, From Death.

Quick Premise: Whether you're an Atheist or a recovering Catholic. Or even a Buddhist or Muslim, the idea of what lies beyond death is a worry that can keep anyone up at night. The notion that people die too young, too soon, without reason is troublesome and deserves some attention. So many people die every day, from disease, from an accident, from even someone pulling the trigger and ending it without a question or even apology. Everyone dies, death is unavoidable. Some people like to quell their worries with religion while others have a more candid and cool approach and know that you only get one life and that's it. So when a group of complete strangers die and find themselves not in Hell or Heaven but on another planet far away from the Milky Way, what would happen? Faith comes into question. People are forced to reevaluate their beliefs and embark on a journey that is just beginning. Their time on Earth is over with but that doesn't mean they're really dead. Many paths can be selected and many mistakes can be made. People are given a chance to find a new life, resolve their past and even move on. This group of people are ordinary, given the same treatment as everyone else who has died, could they be reunited with lost ones? Or will their choices send them down another road to another planet further away?

Genre Breakdown: Science Fiction, Fantasy, Slice of Life, Drama, Character Study, and Adventure

General Themes and Concepts: This is a character driver story and is open to several directions, depending on what our characters decide. Throughout the story they will presented with anywhere from two to four options and each choice will create a new set of issues and hurdles for the group to overcome. Will the group be divided and separate because of conflicts? It's possible. The RP itself is very sandbox oriented which means I will ask for players to contribute ideas and directions along the way. There will also be room for adding more players, sometimes alien or human. Also consider this a quest situation with a lot of travel and handling small sized qualms with people the group meets. Will they help or just keep on passing? Also along the way, you will encounter Muses who will help dictate different possible routes and concepts for our group to deal with. For now, we will be starting with our group awakening after having just died. Below is a character sheet, it's very basic but does include some information on the player as well. Be sure to fill it out and ask any questions you may have.

After all, a good RP relies on communication.

I will collect all accepted sheets and put them in this post. Other announcements will be put here as needed.

That's pretty much it, I expect an active OOC/IC, which means someone should post every few days which I don't think is asking for a lot. Active people can stay motivated and this is about having fun. I know the concept is a serious one but this isn't all about gloom and doom. Thank you!

Posting Habits: I like to log on when I have HOURS to dedicate to posts and chit chat. if I only have 1-2 hours and know I'll be interrupted with an errand or something, I will just lurk offline. I am more active in the afternoon/evenings but I am fairly active and like to keep an OOC moving even if the IC is on the slow side, for whatever reason.

RP Peeves: I hate people who don't communicate. If you talk about issues, they're easy to fix. If you don't and drop out or vanish, no one knows what to think. If you're busy or need a day to post, I'd rather know so I don't get upset. If you're getting bored, let me know so we can fix it. It's not my job to keep players invested, that is a two person job that craves communication.

+ Believes in working hard for your betterment and scorns laziness.
- Similarly, believes that respect is earned and has a hard time taking people his age or younger seriously.

- Short tempered; it doesn't take much to offend him.

I post sporadically; I'll try at least once or twice a week, but on particularly busy days, I might go two weeks before posting. I prefer concise posts (2-3 short paragraphs) because I'm the kind of person who gets lost in overly detailed stuff. But if the scenario calls for it, I can lengthen the post.

Occupation: Odd jobs, anything that pays well really. Also, a part time cook at a small dive.

Beliefs/Religion: He was raised as a Christian from a young age, but he really believes in nothing now. He watched the church turn on his mother when he was young, so he ended up feigning away from religion, as he viewed it as skewed, and broken. If anything, he believes there is a God, but not to the point of prayer and worship.

Personality:
+Very funny, at least to his friends. He tries to make people laugh all the time, through whatever means he has at the moment. Usually dry sarcasm.
-Also, he usually hides his true emotions behind the "funny guy" aspect of his personality. He's extremely shy, but one would never know.
+Very empathetic. He is an observer by nature, able to read peoples emotion through the slightest body language, ticks or other gives. He will usually act as though he doesn'tknow how others feel, just because he usually is trying to help the person open up to him.
-Selfless to the point of not caring about himself over every other person. Sure, its a good thing, but he's even willing to be hurt, and stay hurt just so someone else can crack a smile. He knows this isn't a good thing, as in his darkest moments, he beats himself up mentally about it. His biggest judge is himself.
+Loyal beyond measure. If you do open up to him, show him you're a true friend,who doesn't lie, he will ride with you through hell and back, without hesitation. He has been alone most of his life, and the one thing he feels, is that no one, absolutely no one should go through life alone.

Cause of Death: Ironically, after visiting his parents grave, he was in a car accident, that left him in a coma for several weeks, until his body finally failed, and he passed away.

Hobbies: Reading, writing, and playing videogames.

Fears: He truly fears being alone. Its something he deals with, but is also a constant fear in the back of his mind. He doesn't want to be truly alone.

I tend to check the guild twice a day: in the morning and then the evening when and if I have free time. That said I tend to post every other day, if it makes sense in the IC, sometimes sooner. On average my posts are 3-4 paragraphs though sometimes longer, kind of depends on the muses.

Speed posting bothers me, because I work from a phone, thus while writing my post (which takes a bit) someone else may have posted a few times, which is rather aggravating.

Atheist. Always a firm , fond believer in the fact that the only thing waiting for him after death was a nice little hole and tombstone with a stereotypical epitaph engraved upon it, with the only way to live on being, through the impact he left on the world.

Personality:
+ Relaxed; informal. Never a fan of the strict overbearing, stuffy teacher stereotype.
+ Most often jubilant. A rather positive man who often finds the bright side to every situation.
+ Open minded. Never one to entirely close his mind to something, after all a switch in perspective can be rather useful in philosophy.
+ Helpful. Without many questions Vincent is rather quick to help others, especially those who actively look to him for help.
+ Extremely patient, when dealing with unmotivated young college kids one has to either be patient, or be bordering a psychotic break.

- Rather than providing exact answers, he will often try to lead the questioner to the answer, so they can learn.
- Often overanalyzes situations, and may began to debate its purpose for why it is the way it is.

+ Solomon is a master manipulator, and will, without fail, turn situations to his favor.

+Solomon is a quick study when it comes to people.
-Solomon's most profound trait would be the fact that he is an utter psychopath. He takes joy in hurting others and is proud of the amount of pain he has inflicted. It makes him feel powerful.
- If anything, the man is completely self-absorbed and judges himself higher than all others. If asked, he would admit that he is the most [insert positive trait here] person he has ever met.
-He overestimates himself frequently.

Beliefs/Religion: Charlotte grew up in a strict Mormon family, but turned away from the Mormon faith when her questions were never answered. She believes in God, but not in Hell or in many of the teachings of the Mormon religion. She doesn't have a real religion (Actually, she likes to call herself a Charoltteist Christian.)

Personality:

-Charlotte, or Charlie, as she likes to be called, grew up in a Mormon household, and so is very reserved and polite. Actually, she is reserved and polite to the point of seeming cold. She also has the habit of letting people walk all over her.
-The girl is socially awkward to the extreme...
-Charlie believes that honesty is the best policy, but she takes it so far that she can be considered blunt and even rude, even though she doesn't intend to come off that way.
+Charlie immersed herself in art, literature, and music at a young age. She had a troubled childhood, and it was an easy escape. She became very fluent in the arts.
+ Charlotte is incredibly intelligent. She prided herself on being in all of the honors classes in school, and was even more proud later when she received a full ride scholarship to Yale.
Charlotte is extraordinarily excitable. She likes to focus on the positive things in life.
As she read quite a bit as a child, she became a bit of a romantic and can often be accused of daydreaming. Sometimes her romanticism can border on the unrealistic.
She is compassionate, and usually views others' needs over her own.

Cause of Death: Was murdered and robbed by Solomon Vance. She never saw his face.

Hobbies: Karaoke, Singing, Reading, Dancing, Daydreaming, Reading, Poetry, Painting, Reading, Spending time with her dog, and Reading.

Fears: Charlie is afraid of spiders, and she has a deathly fear of extreme heights.

@Coffee: Glad to see you're doubling, just make sure your two roles (since they are connected) don't interact solely with one another throughout your post, they should be mingling with other people. (I've just had people have a huge filler of dialogue in the past)

He grew up imagining that he would follow in his father's footsteps, but when life got complicated his convictions were shaken. He spent the last fifteen years of his life somewhat ambivalent about the God he once followed.

Personality:

+ William is usually a compassionate man. Love thy neighbor, and all that.

+ He doesn't have much of a temper. He controls his emotions very well.

+ William is generous, sometimes to a fault, and can be quite the team player.

+ William is naturally charismatic, and a pleasure to be around.
+ William can be extremely objective, separating the emotions from a situation to view it from a distance and make decisions appropriately.

- In light of his objectivity, William can sometimes be oblivious to other's emotions as they pertain to him. He can be emotionally detached without ever realizing it.

- William has little patience for cruelty, and would see it punished swiftly and mercilessly if it were all up to him.
