Posted, but it would be cool to know what, exactly, is in the arena pit. Pit falls, pillars or crumbled sections of wall that can be used as cover perhaps. Maybe some grass or trees or something. Who knows. I get the impression that it's just a massive bowl of sand at this point.

I propose an idea, that would in fact change the mechanics of the rp. What if, the arena took characteristics fro each god's champion that is fighting inside? So, each player has some influence over the enviornment.

Eyes: Glowing silvery-blue they are pupiless
Hair: Shimmering silver in a top-knot, extending down to the middle of his massive back.

Unusual Features: N’athr Xelbalbis besides being tall is heavily muscled, has deep indigo skin with white and silver tribal band style tattoos covering his body and shimmering silver hair. He has half-dozen 6-inch ‘arms’ and two 8-inch ‘tentacles’ that hang before his beak-like maw. He has a thickly muscled 20' long, whip-like tail. N’athr Xebalbis communicates through telepathy, although most people assume he is speaking to them.

Powers/Skills/Weaponry:

Being the champion of Simargl, the Primordial one, N’athr Xelbalbis has been granted the physical aspects of his God.

1-God-like strength- N’athr in an Earth gravity can deadlift 100,000 kg (100 tons).
This strength allows him some unique combat moves:

A) He has been known to crush a body or punch through a body with comparative ease. In order to do so he must take a moment to focus his energy into the strike or blow. While his punches normally can kill a human with ease, champions of other deities require him to focus in order to break through their otherwise hardened skins or armors.

B) He can create by stomping his foot or smashing his fists into the ground a powerful shockwave that radiates away from him like an earthquake tremor. The radius he can affect is roughly a half-mile (2640 feet) before it dissipates. It is powerful enough to knock down anyone unprepared, shake buildings and damage the very ground he hits.

C) Because N’athr is so muscular and his leg muscles are so developed he can leap enormous distances. With his strength in Earth’s gravity he can leap 10 miles horizontally and roughly 5 miles vertically.

D) He can create a thunderclap by slapping his hands together, ripping the air creating a sonic boom and with enough force that normal humans can have their ear drums shattered and windows break with ease in a 100 yard radius.

2-Inhuman Dexterity- N’athr is not the fastest hand to hand to combatant, having been bested by others who rely on speed. But his hand-eye coordination is sufficient enough that he can deflect bullets from mundane sources.

3-God-like Stamina- N’athr can resist fatigue building poisons in his body at a much greater rate than any human athlete, allowing his body to reduce the time his tired and sore muscles inhibit him nearly seven times as fast.

A) He is virtually immune to any normal disease; however he is susceptible to magically induced illnesses. It requires his body to work harder to fight off the effects, not impossible but it does take time.

B) He is extremely durable, while not immune to damage, he can resist punishing damage that would kill or incapacitate other Godly champions. Any mundane blade will bend against his muscled body and normal bullets bounce off him like pebbles.

C) He is able to regenerate, however this regenerative power only kicks in when he is incapacitated or dying. Once it is active his body becomes wrapped in an energy field and repairs itself in such rapid fashion that the wounds close before the very eyes of those who inflict them. Usually it will take a number of hours equal to the damage done before he wakens.

4- Imbued by Simargl- N’athr’s attacks, either with his body or with his mace can affect not only mundane objects but preternatural and supernatural objects and beings as well.

Stuff:

N’athr usually appears on a world wearing nothing but heavy leather pants with knee high boots.

His one weapon is a bar mace. Little finesse is needed for this brutal mace, and he is strong enough to crush helms and break swords with the heavy blows it delivers. Made from four bars of steel alloy with a wood and leather grip and a large steel pommel to help balance it, this mace measures 32” long and weighs in at 18 lbs.

This mace appears and disappears into a sub-dimensional space when not in use. It is imbued with the power of Simargl able to effect even the stoutest of demi-gods and their powers and is nearly indestructible. However if it is thrown into the heart of a white hole (the opposite of a black hole) it will destroy the mace forever.

History: Simargl was born at the moment of creation, in the initial spawning of star dust, light and in the icy womb of space. Simargl wanders the multiverse seeking intelligent life, watching it grow and flourish. However on occasion he will find the species troublesome or frankly boring, and wipe out all life on the planet in an extinction level event and starting over until he is satisfied with them.

He has a single champion- N’athr Xelbalbis who sacrificed himself so that his world might live. Because of this he has been known to allow N’athr to go to those worlds to test the heroes of those worlds to see if they are worth saving. If they are not the world and life are started anew.

Height: 50 meters tall; 164 feet, 4 inches tall. (100 feet of body, 64 feet of tail.)

A long, whip-like tail 64 feet long with a series of wicked bone spike protruding from the tip in four directional angles.) A triangular head with a half-dozen eyes and hundreds of twelve-inch long teeth in his mouth. Simargl has four long arms and two legs all ending in serrated claws 48” long. Smooth gray skin.

@Asta: you can probably go whichever way you choose with the phantom wolves, NPC or directly controlled, though I am wondering whether they're in the form of actual wolves or bipedal like Sovereign.

As long as the posts have enough detail that the actions are understandable, word count isn't really an issue.

As for the character, I think we'd have to see it before we could make a judgement. In an arena setting, balance is paramount, so if it's well-balanced for the level of the champions already here (and conforming to the site rules), pretty much any physiology would be allowed.

I'll control them directly then I guess, but if it gets too messy and confusing, I'll probably regulate them to NPC status for future battles.

Also, they're in the form of bipedal wolves like Sovereign, just smaller, and of course weaker in every aspect save for their ability to never actually 'stay' deceased during a battle; Sovereign can recall them back to the Arena if he wants to. As should be expected, the summoning power has a cool down period. I'm thinking three posts or so.

I also never truly defined Sovereign's dimensions. He's twice the height of a normal man, but is incredibly dense. He probably weighs more than a standard automobile, which is approximately two tons. This revision was made in response to Dag's description of him in the post for the battle's opening.

I'm not going to go back and edit in distinct actions for the Shadow Hounds however. I'll let your character perform his counter actions first to see what Sovereign's next moves are.

Two tons? And he's still fast enough to blur to a human eye? Even Skall's character, who's ten feet tall, strong enough to lift 100 tons, and durable enough to shrug off bullets, weighs a little over 1 ton. That's... A pretty huge detail to leave out, and I'm pretty sure it just made sovereign even more powerful than Skall's proposed character. He may not be as strong (which is debateable since it isnt specified and he can get stronger), but he can also summon three phantom wolves that are each more physically powerful than any single champion besides Skall's (and he hasn't even been approved), and he can re-summon them every three posts. Even just one of the phantom wolves would be a match for Herriman or Mifune or Krix.

In short, he just became a lot more powerful than (we thought) he was when he got approved, and unless Krix gets a fairly significant boost to his own abilities, I'm not sure he can do anything beyond slow him down. I intended Krix to be a fighter that uses a combination of physical strength and powers, but the way things are going I might as well throw away his weapons and just amp his earth and fire manipulation. All Sovereign has to do to win is sit on him. F*cking escalation. >_<

P.S. I'm not upset at you, Asta. It's just frustrating when you get into a fight and then find out OOC that you're in a completely different battle than you thought you were, and half the purpose of your character becomes instantly moot. *sigh* We need to figure out how to keep the original characters competitive if they're going to be facing two ton werewolves with hulk syndrome (and friends) and bulletproof giants that can bench a tank one-handed, because at this point, we're way beyond the original character's power level.

I mean, originally I wasn't going to submit a character like Arty because he'd be capable of killing all of the original champions in a single fight, but now he'd be right at home with ASTA and Skall's characters.

Well, I stated in the OOC (and in the bit of OOC at the bottom of my IC post) that a single Shadow Hound wasn't capable of adequately contending with a champion; Sovereign reinforces this statement by mentioning in the IC that he didn't exactly expect them to effortlessly down Krix let alone cause him sever harm (this, however, depends on how Krix's handler posts, but since you've been in the Arena section longer than I have been, this shouldn't be an especially daunting challenge for you---I think).

Skall's character possesses more utility abilities than Sovereign and probably rivals him in the sheer 'might' department. Sovereign's only real advantage against other champions is that he's a lightning bruiser that excels in all physical attributes and progressively grows more dangerous as battle damage is accumulated. He's also extremely durable; much of that durability is owed to his hide's unusual paranormal properties. That's about it. A watered-down, werewolf-version of the Juggernaut if anything.

As for his mass, I sort of expected every champion to be at least able to throw a car around without much effort. For that reason, the idea of Sovereign sitting on Krix to win the fight comes off as unexpected. And Krix has an impressive amount of equipment on him; I was worried that all of that gear would put Sovereign in a tough spot (and I still am, which is why he's using rocks and trees for cover as he closes in on Krix's immediate position).

I haven't really had a chance to see what they can do yet, but If the Shadow Hounds are that powerful, I can limit the amount of times Sovereign can summon them to once per battle and reduce his weight to a single ton if it's an issue.

Keep in mind though that this is my first Arena fight, so I'm still learning the ropes of this posting system and how Sovereign functions in an Arena battle. I'll get better eventually, so bear with me.

Which is why I was trying to push for the implementation of the medium tier idea, but that kind of got ignored by almost everyone if I recall.

Well, Krix can't lift two tons. He can lift a little over one ton.

In all honesty, I'd rather amp the existing heroes to true demigod levels and say he can lift 10 tons (putting him back in play as a physical powerhouse but still weaker than N'athr and Sovereign) than nerf Sovereign and N'athr. Of course, the other original heroes would need to be amped as well, and Light might have something different to say if he ever comes back, but it would make the battles feel more like it's two demigods fighting.

I agree completely. As it is, Sovereign and N'athr are at least tier 6 by LeeRoy's standards, while all the others are tier 4 or lower.
