I have a quick ascertain to make: it seems to me like in this story, Ganondorf is king and rules in Hyrule Castle. Is that right, or am I hilariously misinterpreting it?

Misinterpreting. I'm sorry. I wasn't very clear as to where he is right now. He's currently in his own palace among the Gerudo.

Someone claimed Zelda as a second character. I would assume that they have her situated in Castle City, but I'm equally as sure things can be arranged between you to. I believe WatermelonTango is the person who wanted to play Zelda, but I'll check to make sure.

Well Links walking along the path heading back to Ordin, I wonder how Zelda will react, seeing as this Link is a deserter but also the hero pf what the hell is about to go down. Just please no one trick Link into pulling the four sword... Nayru that would be terrifying.

Yeah I can still play male Sheik. Not sure what he'll be doing at the moment, but I'll figure it out.

I don't think there's a problem with Sheik being Male. Even if the fact is disputable in canon, the truth is we're trying to change Hyrule around a bit for the better. Sheik can have his own origin if we so please.
