How did you get off world?: Parents brought him with them when they signed up as crew on one of the Independent ships.
Story: His first memory is of his parents coming to pull him out of class. He sees it in his dreams from time to time. A faceless woman hands him his backpack and tells him goodbye. A brief moment later he sees the Earth receding behind him, his last view of the world of his birth.
His Mother was a biologist and his Father a physicist. They managed to get jobs on a Zek ship, his mother in the Ponics bay, and his father as an engineer. Kyle grew up on that ship, learning as a Zek child would, becoming the third ranked scientific officer on board.
Three days ago, however, the ship came to Teros and dropped off every non-Zek crew member, as it did once per Zekkian year. After that, the ship headed through the wormhole for their homeworld. It will be at least three weeks before they return, but Kyle doesn't want to just go on vacation like most of the crew would. The idea of a new homeworld intrigues him. He knows that the Earth can't be replaced, and doesn't think that humans should cut themselves off from the other races, but they were few in number and spread thin. Perhaps a human homeworld would help them to rebuild some of what they lost? Or maybe it would just make them gullible followers of a slick politician. He has to find out.
