Name: Roman Evaan Sorien

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Role in the Circus: Charmer

Magic (If Any): Enchantments. Specifically, is able to give objects the power of suggestion, as well as a kiss from lady luck or fate, depending on whatever one might be more useful.

Reason for Joining Cirque de Noir: Came to give Madame Sombre a trinket to help out her business, and was offered a job he more than needed.

Past Life:

Roman was a simple child, with a simple family. His childhood was not one that had many outstanding moments or left him any phenomenal memories. His pals sometimes joked about how boring his life was going to be like as he grew up, and for the most part Roman would often believe them. However, boring was not something he had any qualms against. For him, normal was nice. After all, he had enjoyed his normal life for the most part! This was his life up til' college. The only thing that really stuck out to him or his pals was that when he gave people gifts, things worked out for them. He'd give his girlfriend a bracelet, and the next day she'd drop it and find a twenty laying right beside it. Gave a friend who just got dumped a watch, and later that evening he'd hook up with someone new. First thing she said? "Hey, thats a really pretty watch."

Roman never gave this much thought. However, he also never thought of many things. He never thought he would drop out of college. He also never thought he would be living paycheck to paycheck working his ass day and night just to get by. What he did think, however, was that his life wasn't going the way it wanted. And as if fate herself wanted to make his life a bit rougher and rub it in, he lost his jobs as well. However, the one thing he realized he hadn't lost was his ability to give a gift.

He thought he was insane at first, but after he managed to pay his rent with 175$ when he needed 250$ he started to come to terms with himself. He never thought that magic was real, thinking magic was real was like thinking that getting slapped across the face means 'she digs me'. He tried to start up a small business of his, using his 'talents' to make a living. By now his talents were much more polished and controlled. But the concept of it drove most of his customers off. The only real business he got was out of pity. The lack of patrons caused him to again lose his chance at a job, however word of his business did spread. Most took it as a joke, but Madame Sombre knew better.

Hey! Hope this is ok! If there are any problems ill try to fix em asap

Sorry about the wait, my outdated computer was having some problems earlier. Everything is fixed now.

Name: Caius Argent

Gender: Male

Age: 22, 498

Role in the Circus: Fortune Teller

Magic (If Any): Caius is a powerful psychic who has four main abilities.

Future Sight, he is able to see into the future, but it is a very fickle thing. The simple stuff he does for the circus is just that, simple. All he must do is be in contact with a person, and he can see into their future up to a year away. He cannot see their death's however, death is an even more fickle thing than the future. The heavier stuff is much more difficult. It takes a lot more energy and concentration, but he can see further into the future and even see the future of an entire area not just one person. Occasionally, when something incredibly important is going to happen around him, his ability automatically activates, this causes severe headaches when it happens, because this future can be changed if he tells the right person about it. This is also the only time when he can see a person's death.(That part I'm not going to use unless I've discussed with the GM what that is going to be before hand. They can also use it to further the plot along if needed. I totally don't mind)

Telepathy, this ability is simple, as long as a person is within range he can speak to them using only his mind. They hear him in their brains and can reply by just thinking it. He cannot see into their minds when he does this, only speak and hear their replies.

Telekinesis, the staple of all psychics, Caius can lift objects with his mind. The larger the object, the more difficult it is and the more concentration it takes. He can lift moving objects as well, such as people and animals, but wiggling things are much harder to hold up than not wiggling things.

Sensing, Caius can sense the auras of people around him. Allowing him to literally read the mood of a conversation. He can tell when people are nearby by using this ability, and is able to tell whether or not they are hostile or friendly. This of course does have its range, and the further away the person is the less he can sense about their aura.

Reason for Joining Cirque de Noir: He was hit with a terrible, terrible vision, one of the worst ones he's ever gotten. Basically he saw that if he stayed with his crew, they would all end of dead or imprisoned. So he did the brave and selfless thing and left his life on the water, protecting the men he had grown up around. Madame Sombre found him nearly dead after he had been attacked and robbed of pretty much everything, including his left eye.

Past Life: People thought that Caius was born cursed. His mother died during childbirth, leaving his father who was the captain of a ship to raise him. He was on the water for almost his entire life up to his imprisonment. As he grew older he did a lot more on the ship, eventually becoming his father's right hand man, and then captain after his father's own death. He found out about his psychic powers one day at the age of eight, when a vision hit him as he was doing his chores. He saw a storm hitting their ship in three days time, and told his father about it. His father laughed and told him to stop daydreaming. Three days later, the storm did in fact hit. Caius' discovery of his telekinesis was one of the few things that saved them. Though he was exhausted afterward.

His father and the rest of the crew, though fearful of his strange ability, didn't hate or kill him for it. After all, he had saved their lives. Thus allowing him to stay on board the ship. He practiced his abilities everyday steadily growing stronger with them and figure out new things to do with them. His father died when Caius was sixteen and the boy took over the ship as captain, taking on his father's role and job. He did this until he was twenty-two, he had a vision so strong that he blacked out afterword. A vision of his crew dying at sea alongside him. He knew what he had to do, luckily they were docked at the time, unloading and reloading supplies and goods. Caius slipped out of the ship that night, never to be seen again by his crew.

He was ignorant to the ways of the land though, having lived on the ship almost his entire life. He was attacked by several men wanting his bag of supplies. Thinking he could take them, having fought quite a few battles by sea, he quickly learned that land combat and sea combat were much different. And the fact that he was outnumbered didn't help either. The men left him for dead, having taken his supplies, and his left eye as a warning. If Madame Sombre hadn't found him, he would surely be dead. Though now he suffers a fate much worse than death. Being unable to die.

Otto: "Hello...?" *pops head into tent to stare up at newbie*
Roman: "Uh, yes?"
Otto: "You don't happen to have any charms lying around that could...help me grow an inch or a few...?"
Roman: "'Fraid not?"
Otto: 3: *walks away, a defeated boy-man...*
Caius: "...here again, like clockwork."
Otto: "End of the month, the same inquiry...please."
Caius: "When are you going to meet your mystery lady?"
Otto: *intense stare* "Yes."
Caius: *shakes eight ball* "It says 'Don't count on it'."
Otto: "Oh, okay..." *gets up and walks away, a defeated boy-man...*

:Gender:
Male

:Age:
Appears around twenty; ~117

:Role in the Circus:
Puppeteer

:Magic:
The ability to give “life” to humanoid objects. This faux-life is an extension of himself. Generally they can’t do anything unless he commands them to. Other times they can get a bit “lively” of their own accord. Either way, they can only be animate so long as they are not too far away, should he leave them or they stray, they return to deadness. “They” must be resembling of a human to a certain degree. André tends to mostly use the marionettes which he has made.

:Reason for joining the Circus:
André has several reasons for joining the Cirque de Noir. Most prominently was the escape from war.

:Past Life:

André’s life began in small village in northern France. His father, Alexandre Leclair, was the town woodcrafter. Alexandre was skilled in his trade and took pride in it. Seeking more from his talents was largely the cause for the family’s eventual move to Paris. In his earliest years, André had possessed a fondness for replications of humans. He felt like he could hear them, and like they could hear him. As though they had a life of their own. These thoughts were some of the few things he could remember of his earliest years. Another of them, was the marvellous wooden toys his father made for him. The humans were always his favourite.

Shortly after his arrival to Paris the boy learned of les marionnettistes when he saw some performing on the streets. While his father worked to try and spread his craft and his mother did… well, whatever it was she was doing, André would tie string to the toys he had and imitate the show he’d seen. Yet, there were things to do, things to help mother with, so these small shows did not last long. Especially as things got worse. His father could not make a business out of his woodworking and was having trouble finding another source of steady income. So the family decided to leave their home again, this time they planned to sail across the sea, to America.

The Leclair's arrived in a foreign and strange world. They spoke little English and both parents were required to take jobs to support the family. Madame Leclair had only intended to work until her husband had worked his way up. Nevertheless, both were gone many hours, and this left André who was still young, much time to himself. There were others there, but they had things to do. Important things. So the boy continued his practise of puppetry. To his surprise, he discovered he did not need strings. The toys would move on their own, if he let them. Occasionally he’d put on a display, and people liked it. A part of him hoped something would come of it. He didn't quite understand how that what he was doing was abnormal.

For several years things were not unwell, however, there was never a promotion in sight, and both Leclair parents continued to work. They became more bitter, and the warmth of his youth was lost to the tired and worn-down faces. The distance between those who lived at the house only continued to grow, until at fourteen, André chose to leave. He was not the type to require much, so he managed to live off of the coins of strangers. Around three years, he continued like such, until he started to develop a sickness. At that time he realized exposure to the elements was going to kill him. Returning home seemed best, where he stayed, until his health had returned to full. Even once his health improved he remained with his family, now offering them support. André continued to perform when chances permitted, which tended to be few. Still, things were not so bad.

Alas, war came to America. He fled home after being drafted and while on the run found the Cirque de Noir.

That made me laugh. The only problem is that Caius doesn't have an eight ball. Or a crystal ball. He tells the future for a specific person through physical contact with said person.

Though I could totally see him doing that just to mess with Otto.

Everybody, at some point, are going to be opening a container...and finding Odd inside, either practicing his contortionist act or taking a quick nap, being unintentionally cute...
When Odd isn't in a tight space, he's likely playing with locks and/or safes.

But seriously, can't wait for this thing to start, all my other RPs are dying on me.

You bet it is. *wink wink*

I recognise you two from the Academy RP - hi! (Although I didn't get very far with it due to work...T-T)

I'll be working on my sheet now.

Mmmm...you remember me?
*strikes a sexy ferret pose*

But, ack, nuuuuuuu~!
Odd would know his savior when he sees her--(salt water burning)--erg, hears--(salt water logged)--no! It can't be she! Odd would have the strongest urge to hump her leg and beg her to let him be her servant if it were (seems legit)!

Otto: "You still don't recall lending out a horse less than a decade or so ago...?"
Diedra: "Hmmm...maybe this mysterious lady of yours is yours truly?" *points to self, waggled la eyebrows suggestively*
Otto: -_- "Anybody can ride a horse and know of this circus...also, you don't look like her. She has...she was..." *imagination goes in wild directions* .A. <( <3 )

Haha, it probably wasn't. Diedra was chained to the circus looong before Otto was even thought of.

Speaking of Diedra, I've finished her character sheet, and I heartily advise everyone to at least read the personality section, but for those who won't - Diedra's officially taking "Big momma of the circus" role over all her little younger performers.

Yes, I feel sad that we didn't get to have much interaction in the academy roleplay.
Our characters in both that and this seem like a good fit for some fun and friendly interaction.

Let's make the boys drool by getting all flirtatious and giving them blue balls by ditching last minute LOL
