The year is 4E 206; five years following the events of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Alduin has long since been defeated by the Dragonborn of song and legend. This hero, the Dragonborn, has earned many titles, and fulfilled many deeds, both just and dark. Skyrim, as it would seem, is at peace, other than the Civil War that continues to plague the land.

This particular story begins in Candehearth Hall, an inn within the walls of Windhelm. Windhelm, unfortunately, is just as biggoted as it was five years ago, as the Civil War for Skyrim's freedom still wages on. Five individuals seek to leave Skyrim through Windhelm's port, hoping to find something more promising, more opportunistic beyond the borders of Skyrim. Their plan is to travel across Tamriel in order to find their fortune beyond Skyrim. Though their goals may be different, they must work together in order to find their fortune, or they may all be forgotten...

In this roleplay, five players are required. I, myself, will be participating, leaving room for four others to join me. But first, if you are interested, some ground rules...
*OOC*

  • No Powerplaying, we are all ordinary, as far as our races go. (And yes, this includes Dragonborn. Sorry.)

  • No mixing of Ooc and Ic feelings or perspectives.

  • Just in general, basic Roleplaying rules apply, Ooc thread for Ooc stuff like profiles and concerns and comments and stuff, Ic thread strictly for roleplaying.

  • During battle scenes, there will be one turn per person. One person posts, then the second, third, fourth and fifth. This is based on who posts their applications in what order on the Ooc thread by default. This rule does not necessarily refer to dialog and actions, in which case, post when you wish, though be sure to post. I would prefer it if everyone posted.

  • Please use proper grammar in your posts. I also request a one paragraph minimum with a three paragraph maximum in your posts. There is a three sentence minimum for paragraphs.

  • *IC*

  • Violence, blood, gore and language are allowed Icly, though I must ask that ask that language is kept to a mimimum. (Don't curse every other word. Do so when deemed necessary.)

  • Relationships within the group will be allowed, though keep it at a PG-13 rating, okay?

  • You may only injure or kill others in the group with their consent to do so. (Please note that if your character dies, you may always create another one that the group will meet along the way.)

  • Character Form

Name: (Please keep it race specific, or have a good reason otherwise.)

Race: (Argonian, Altmer, Bosmer, Dunmer, Orisimer, Nord, Imperial, Redguard, Breton, Khajiit. Halfbreeds are acceptable within reason, so no Khajiit or Argonian hybrids, please. If you want to have a vampire or werewolf, just talk to me about it.)

Age: (Between 17 and 65, or if your character's race is more long lived, use that race's equivalent.)

    Gender: (Self-explanatory.)

Origin: (Where exactly was your character born? For example, 'Windhelm, Skyrim'.)

Class: (What are you? A Warrior? A Mage? A Thief? A Bard?)

Fighting Style: (Two-handed weaponry? Magic? Archery?)

Fighting Style Specifics: (Optional. If filled out, please include specifics about your fighting style. For example, if you are a warrior, do you tend to use a shield in order to block? Do you dual-wield weapons?)

Weapons: (Please list any weaponry that your character may have in his posession, as well as a few details if necessary.)

Affiliations: (What groups would your character have been affiliated with in Skyrim, if any?)

Bio: (Nothing Fancy, just a short bio, how you got to Skyrim in the first place, just basic backstory.)

Personality: (Pretty basic, just tell me how your character acts.)

Appearance: (Includes clothing, facial features, distinguishable markings, body type, etc.)

Other: (Is there anything else I should know about this character?)

I am totally interested! Leaving this placeholder here so I can edit it with my Character Sheet later tonight, when I get home.

(If you don't mind, I've added a category or two to the character sheet, just so I could flesh out my character a bit more.)

    Name: Hargjorn (Pronounced Harg-Yorn) Thrice-Batterred

Race: Is a mix between Nordic and Redguard blood.

    Age: 43

    Gender: Male

Origin: The grand city of Solitude

Religious Beliefs: Nordic Pantheon, with a strong leaning towards Kynareth.

    Class: Warrior

Fighting Style: Light Armor/Heavy Armor mix and a single one-handed weapon.

Fighting Style Specifics: Being a sailor, Hargjorn's fighting style depends on quick footwork, light armor, and situational awareness. Not to mention that fighting on the high seas also come with the chance of falling into the drink, and if you're wearing a suit of metal armor, you're going to be sinking like a stone. So, this means Hargjorn's preferred fighting method is a one-handed weapon in one hand, and nothing in the other. A free hand is useful in environments where you might need to hang onto a railing, or swing on a rope while fighting someone off at the same time. Hargjorn's preferred weapon type is swords, but he does keep a one-handed boarding axe as backup in case he goes overboard and needs to climb back up.

Affiliations: The Solitude Merchant's Guild, The East Empire Trading Company, The Solitude Sailor's Guild

Bio: Born to a moderately wealthy family in Solitude, Hargjorn has always been the black sheep among his siblings. The family tradition was always one of proud service to The Empire, in the form of military tradition. Hargjorn, however, never displayed any interest in the military. Always the odd child out, Hargjorn aspired to be a merchant, and could often be found at the Solitude docks, enchanted by the stories of the men who sailed to far-off destinations. As he grew, his parents found that he did indeed have a talent for money and trade, but they tried to repress these talents. Enrolling him in a military academy for young boys, Hargjorn suffered under a strict instructor and a somewhat brutal training regiment designed to turn boys into soldiers. After two years, Hargjorn returned from the academy a stronger, tougher, and faster boy. Unbeknownst to his parents, however, Hargjorn's dreams were more than intact.

One night, when he was ten, Hargjorn ran away from home taking all of his belonging (and a few valuables from home that wouldn't be missed). He joined up with a ship's crew as a deck-wiper, and has worked his way up to the top ever since, becoming a well-established sailing merchant, buying cargo in Solitude to be shipped to other parts of Tamriel. Recently, however, He's become bored of his constant back-and-forth lifestyle, and began to desire something more.

    A true adventure.

Personality: Hargjorn is a people person at heart (a necessary quality for the captain of a merchant vessel), but he keeps this social nature hidden behind a gruff exterior he keeps reserved for strangers. He's understanding, rowdy and kind, but he can swing into the fiercest of tempers if pushed hard enough. He has a certain disdain for folks of a dishonest nature, and is extremely protective of his ship, the Kynareth's Tear

Appearance: Hargjorn pushes 6"3' in height, and has a strong and broad body, hardened by more than thirty years at sea, with defined and toned muscles. He possesses a short, thick neck, and a face with rather squarish face with powerful, sharp features. He has a long beard that's kept in a rather wide braid to control it's length, and more or less maintained neck length hair. His hair is a tawny brown. He's got a few scars (mostly on his arms from sailing accidents, but some are from weapons, such as a deep scar that runs across his chest horizontally), but nothing song-worthy. He also has a light layer of manly body hair on his chest and below his elbows.

In terms of clothing, Hargjorn prefers to wear a long, leather coat, designed to protect his body like a suit of leather armor. Under this coat, he wears a steel breastplate, and he also wears a plain steel helmet on his head, designed to be as plain and featureless as possible. He keeps the helmet off and hanging on his belt when there's no fighting going on, preferring to wear a wide-brimmed hat designed to keep sun and rain out of his eyes. Sometimes, usually when fighting in rainy or sunny conditions, Hargjorn might wear both the helmet and the hat at the same time, the plainness of the helmet allowing for a somewhat acceptable fit for the hat.

    Other:
-Hargjorn's ship, Kynareth's Tear, is a medium-sized merchant vessel. It has two small ballistas mounted one the port and starboard sides (intended for defense against pirates) and has a minimum effective crew of sixteen, men. Usually, Hargjorn keeps the crew about 24 strong, since boardings do tend to happen every once in a while, and accidents can always occur.

-Hargjorn is called "Thrice-Battered" because he's survived three massive storms at sea, and is somewhat of an expert when it comes to navigating these extremely treacherous events

I like it! In fact, I may have need to go a bit more in depth on my form.

Definitely accepted! I'll edit the thread ASAP. We just need three more people and we'll be set!

Perhaps we could use your ship, Kynareth's Tear, somehow during the rp?

Name: Heh, Drevayne Telvanni proud to be at your service, if you've got a tale in the making.

Race: Dunmer, and proud of it, thank you very much, ha!

Age: And the inevitable follow up to that question that I never tire of answering, I've been around to see that whippersnapper Tiber Septim conquer the world. When I was a young buck, I served under Almalexia against Ada'Soom Dir-Kamal... (Commence old man rambling for the next several hours)

Gender: Male, thank you very much.

Origin: Tel Aruhn, in Vvardenfell, in Morrowind, in Tamriel, in Nirn, to be perfectly specific, it was many years ago that I was born to my parents, I'm told it was a rainy eve, and... (Commence old man rambling for the next several hours)

Religious Beliefs: I'll bow to The Nevervarine, and anyone he bows to. Sold him a spell once, I did. Still got the coins. He also cleared the rats from my cellar, right proper chap. Never did find my old sword after that though, maybe he's borrowing it? Anyway, well, see, those other gods don't do anything for ya, but Nerevar's got your back right proper.

Class: Ah, the heady thrill of front line combat, trusty steel in hand and a good suit of armor, I do miss it. But even a Dunmer as I am begins to show his age, and I have practiced the trade of the healer and Restoration for a long time. Though make sure you respect your elders, I still retain a spell or two of the fiery Destruction, heh, heh, heh.

Fighting Style (and specifics): Once upon a time, I was a reckless young buck in Almalexia's army, I hammered away with two handed blade without a care in the world for defense. Good armor only let me down a few times, and I lowered myself to use the healers art for that. Whenever the opponent kept his distance like a coward, hit 'em with a firebolt! Still, I'm a bit older now, and many years of relative peace have made me a healer above all else despite how I thought it beneath me then, heh. I know the old school spells too, making muscles bulge with power and filling legs with speed. Still got the firebolts too. Can't say I've used one in decades, but I'm sure I remember'm proper.

Weapons: Mmm, this? Oh, it's just a walking stick, not some staff. I'm no enchanter. I know it looks a bit odd, but its all I've got left of my hold home. Heh.

Affiliations: Mmmm... I remember the good old days of the Ebonheart Pact, them's was some fun wars, heh. And I've served in Morrowind's armies more times than I care to mention now. As far as the Telvanni go, I think my family never got out of their towers enough to see the world. Haha, not like House Telvanni means anything these days. Oh, you meant recently? Um.. Heh... Well.. Er.. Who's king right now? Suppose I'm on his side.

Bio: Eh? Why I'm in Skyrim? You've not heard of the Red Year, I presume, then. (Lots of the rest of his backstory are presented in tidbits in the segments they are most relevant to.)

Personality: Mmm.. When most people hear Telvanni, they think of crazy old wizards locked up in mushroom towers who hate everybody else. Fortunately for me, I was a young fool who ran away to stab people and sneak a peak or two at Almalexia in the wars. During the Ebonheart Pact, I fought alongside pretty much every race at least once or twice, and against plenty of times. After awhile, you learn everybody bleeds pretty much the same, albeit with slight idiot-synchronies. Got a taste for wild living, so I fought my fair share, drank a nord or two under the table, after a few hundred attempts, ha!, and fought a couple times more than my fair share. To be honest, I got along better with most of the non-elves in our company. I've been called Dark Elf by many a friend and I don't hold it against 'em when they call it like it like they see it. But age caught up with me, though not as fatally as it did for all my friends of that war, and I've slowed down. I'll still sometimes dream of a warriors death, but I'd probably look a fool in battle-armor. But perhaps one last adventure wouldn't go awry. Heh.

Appearance: Heh, OLD is how I look. Suppose I got the red eyes of any given Dunmer, and the ashen skin. My hair, once fire red, is now a spark-ridden white. But, eh, who cares about whining about being old? Let me show you the scar I got from an Akaviri at the battle that lead to the foundation of the Ebonheart pact! I've got a dozen and more good stories to tell, remembered on my skin so my old brain doesn't have to, heh.

Other: (Anyone up for having shared backstory? Drevayne's not one to withhold healing or overcharge for it.)

We're starting in a tavern anyways. I've been thinking, and I think it'd be a good idea if Hargjorn was the reason everybody met up. I'm not trying to be self-centered or anything, but if Hargjorn put up some posters offering his ship to adventurers in return for a cut, I'm sure that'd bring the other PCs to him.

But yeah. When are you two available? You know, so that we can set up a time to start this thing up.
