Now that officially nothing seems to have been accomplished today...

Well, actually, I started on the huge weapon list again, this time to be saved on my comp.

But anyway, Super Smash Bros. 4 has announced the return of Lucario. Completely freaking unexpected.

Marth (of course) is returning, but no word on if he has a "Masked Lucina" costume or not yet for representation from Awakening, and no word on Ike or Chrom being a part of it. Feeling anxious.

Honestly, I'm not sure either. The assassin concept Veri came up with sounds like fun, but sort of clashes with his "no killing" stance. I was even thinking about making a skill kinda like Mercy, only it wouldn't work against undead and such, and it might come with like a stun turn anytime he deals damage past 1 hp. I'm still trying to work him out. I suppose I should ask, what exactly do we still need that we don't have already?

I could say that Mercy is inactive against undead. Revenants didn't exist in the game that skill was in anyway.

And I just need to know when you decide on something, or would you rather wait to bring him in until midway through this chapter?

Alright, well, I probably won't get the post up tonight, but who knows, and I have church tomorrow, then to the GF's house so I can make it to church in the evening, but maybe I can pull off putting the post up in the morning.

I'll try to do the post anyway. Mine includes Jake, the guy who...well...I don't remember his purpose, but he uses Light and Dark magic. I remember that.

Ahem, anyways I'm honestly thinking about ditching the character concept for Issac. Honestly, I just don't know if enough things were working for me, and no matter how hard I try I can't get the "puzzle pieces" to fit together. That said, I do have a couple of concepts for two new characters! (Yay!)

The first is probably a more traditional frost mage that I would put in the near future. The only potential sore spot is that my initial idea is for her to be a noble, something Veri seems to have a bit of an issue with :(. That said, I would be doing a lot of things different from your typical Fire Emblem noble (she'd be only 6th in line for the throne for example, and she'd be a lot less significant than most nobles plotwise). Still, I'd like to know what you guys think.

The second...honestly the only thing I know for sure I want out of him is that he's going to be a laguz. My first thought was a rat thief laguz hilariously enough! At any rate, I do want some kind of laguz in the party, since right now with Sylph gone we have exactly none. Frankly, at the rate this is going I'm not sure if we should have laguz in this, since atm they don't seem very plot relevant. Aside from that, I don't know, but I'd probably introduce him later on.

EDIT: Did we get rid of build types or something?

EDIT 2: Oh, now I realize there's actually two nobles in our party...I might need to go back to the drawing board... :(

I usually don't make a character until it randomly pops into my head and I already have everything about them figured out. Perhaps the best option would be to wait for that.

I find it happens more often when I read or browse art.

Yes, build types are now irrelevant. I got to the point that I bloody hated them. They held little water anyhow. If your char has something special about them (like they ride a horse, pegasus, griffon, dragon, have heavy armor, etc.) just put it in an "Other" or "Misc" category.

Maybe I'll add something about the remaining Laguz Types, just so that when their undead monster forms start...you know what? I'll explain that bit when the time comes, but I'll give the major available Laguz forms in the first post at some point.

@Rethel: Aww, I kinda liked them. Now I'm sort of wondering what changes advancement is actually going to do now, since we aren't using a stringent stat system...

Basically, Max, in doing this, I made it possible for Dalton to become a Great Knight and then a Conqueror should you so desire (yeah, my opinion is that Conqueror is a T3 form of Great Knight, because they're both Armor/Horse, and both use the same weapons.) Or you could go a completely weird route, too, like using Lances, Swords, and Bows. We'll figure this stuff out as we go.

We should have written an intro OOC post before writing all of that. If a new guy comes in and sees a wall of text about races and stats(which I dont like anyway), he'll be scared off or bored away.

On Stats and why I hate them:
"Draco shield" is an item that has "1 use" and gives "+2 Def"
What does +2 def mean to us from an RP standpoint?
What does 1 use entail? Does a character just touch the shield, it disappears, and they get +2 def? If they have to hold the shield, then why does it have only 1 use, and why is there only a draco shield (aka no wooden-shield with +1 def or something)?

I'm not just picking on this item. Almost every item that has stats is very ambiguous. It works fine in a video game, but it feels clunky and awkward for RP.

In the fire emblem games, there was an item that allowed you to advance a class. Technically, if I wanted my character to ride a horse, he'd have to "use" that item, and then he'd know how to ride horses (as if he didnt already).

And finally we have durability on our weapons. I'm fine with having my sword replaced (if it is cheap) or repaired (if it is expensive) every now and then, but meticulously managing their durability seems, once again, clunky and obtrusive to the flow of writing.

Combine this with the fact that our characters themselves don't have stats, and you'd have to ask "What the hell are these stats doing here anyway?"
