[IC] Mystic Dragons: Battle of the Black Riders

A lone figure stood just outside the dark foggy woods. Though she stood at the edge of Royal territory, Angelique was still almost pulled forward by the lull of the mystic woods. She was not allowed to go into the woods though. This she knew very well. The Black Riders would be at her throat as soon as she stepped into that forest. She took a deep breath and turned away.

Firefrost rolled over snapping his golden eyes open causing a cascade of ice crystals to shoot in all directions, peering around his cave he shook out his mane causing another avalanche of frost and ice to fall free from his body. He stretched out his claws digging them into the frozen cave floor and arched his back expanding his wings, he glanced upwards where the layer of ice he had formed over his cave entrance now more like a hole in the ground gave off the ever so smallest hint of light meaning that it was daylight outside.
It had been a long time since he had woken last, at least a hundred years, though this time he felt he was needed, he felt it was time to emerge from his ice kingdom below the ground in the northern hemisphere of frosted ice caps and a desolate snowy wasteland and fly East, to the human empires.
Rising his head and spreading his wings far Firefrost burst through the ice causing an explosion of shards to fly upwards with him as he rose in altitude stretching his massive wings and giving a loud roar of his awakening which echoed off the glaciers and spread his voice farther than normal. He twisted his body around and began the long flight out of his icey wasteland.

Angelique turns back to the castle, walking slowly toward it. The blood red stone on her necklace pulses and she reaches up to touch it gently. Her light eyes scan around the area, more specifically toward the sky. She smiles softly before continuing to walk.

Culphon sat on a parapet of the castle, enjoying his apple and chuckling to himself, watching the city from this height was always amusing, it was just high enough that he could see what was going on, but not so much that the people looked like ants. As he peered over the city, he noticed this and that, the butcher and the baker's wife, the candlestick-maker's penchant for drink, and Angelique coming back from her walk. Culphon took another bite of his apple and Jumped down from where he was sitting and walked nonchalantly back toward the nearest tavern, he was suddenly feeling the need for a drink.

Angelique saw Culphon walking across the street and she scowled. She did not like him all that much. She had a strange feeling about that jester. She walked carefully pass him, making she to keep an eye on him as she did. She didn't want him to see her.

Culphon walked across the busy street, and upon noticing Angelique, gave her a quick, sly wink, and continued on his way. The girl had always seemed uneasy around him and it occasionally amused him to inflame that unease. He continued walking toward the tavern though, his thirst suddenly growing stronger. As he entered the tavern he sat down by a man in a dark cloak and ordered a drink.

Firefrost beat his wings slowly and kept his golden eyes glued to the landscape below, he searched for a land mark or a person to talk with and speak of the time he had awoken in, a time so seemingly empty of dragons and people alike. Still Firefrost continued his long journey stopping occasionally to pick off a deer or an elk to sate his rumbling stomach for when he returned to the land of people they'd rejoice in his arrival, the great Vex who fought alongside the people in their wars and petty squabbles over land and money, they'd hoast a feast and dance the dragon dance. Firefrost let out a massive roar in excitement his voice booming over the land as his word echoed across the slopes "I have arisen! Rejoice my return!"

Angelique glared after the jester, but froze in her tracks as she heard a loud roar over the land. She looked around, looking for what made the noise. It can't be possible that that was... they're all gone! It was proven long ago that dragons don't exist anymore. She doesn't see what made the roar, but it does make her hurry on her way more quickly.

Culphon as well heard the the roar, though few others in the bar seemed to, either too enthused in their games of chance, or their drink. But Culphon wandered outside, looking up and down at what could possibly have made that noise, he knew that he wasn't going crazy, he had heard something, and the legends he had heard growing up were very specific on what kind of something that something was. Looking behind him, he made his way back into the bar, suddenly much more wary of his surroundings.

Firefrost having spotted a castle with a village twisted in the air, he sped toward the castle swooping low over the crop fields letting his voice echo once more across the land "Hello people of the city!" He smiled to himself as he searched for a place to land, circling the castle he decided to land outside the walls so he didn't hurt anyone or break anything. "I have returned!" He roared landing outside the gates near the road. He folded his wings neatly at his sides and set himself majestically in an upright position.

Culphon heard the commotion and turned around, as he hadn't quite made it back into the tavern yet, the small man saw the largest creature he had ever seen, as people ran in what Culphon assumed was fright, he approached the large scaled beast, his steps careful yet filled with a briskness provided by a curiosity he could not hide. As Culphon approached he made a deep bow, removing his hat as he did, and shouted at what he surmised was, in fact, a dragon, "Welcome back sir, and may I congratulate you on the subtlety of your entrance" gesturing towards the lack of townspeople in the square.

Firefrost dipped his head to look at the lone person before him, his golden eyes focusing on the halfling, "where has everyone gone? And where are the other dragons?" Firefrost couldn't hide his disappointment and lashed his tail and ruffled his wings "I frightened everyone away" He twisted his great head and snorted ice crystals across the road "I have flown hundreds of miles to be here in your time of need, but it seems I am not needed, only feared, and why do you not run and cower hobbit?" Firefrost sat back and leaned up to peer over the gates in the direction of the castle.

"Well it's possible that most people are just a little anxious when it comes to meeting dragons, you all have been absent for quite awhile after all" Culphon replied sarcasticaly, pulling out his pipe and lighting it. "As for coming here in our time of need, my guess is that you'll want to talk to the king about that" taking the rather long pipe out of his mouth and blowing out a mouthful of smoke. "So why now do you choose to return O' Greatly Scaled One?" Culphon continued, still more curious than frieghtened

Firefrost looked up at the castle and cocked his head slightly "dragons have been gone?" He had wondered why he lacked seeing any on the flight East, as he pondered this he lashed his long tail in agitation, it seems times are worse than he thought. Dropping his head low the brought himself close to the halfling inspecting him for any sign of a lie "I have arisen from a cave of ice to help those in need, I am obviously needed, the dragons have all gone!" His voice rose with the irritation he was feeling and he flicked his wings in uncertainty, bringing his large head closer he breathed a light cliud of frost over the hobbit "am I not needed?"

Culphon shivered as a wave of chilling suddenly enveloped him as the wave of frosty air suddenly wafted over him. He took a minute to take another toke of his pipe before answering the Dragon's questions. "Well if you say you are needed,my guess is that not many will argue with you, my large friend" The warmth returning to his face after the moment of pure ice filling his veins he added with a strange mix of politeness and sarcasm; "and Indeed, weren't you not here to know that the dragons left?" Culphon added with a wink at the dragon and then continued in a more serious tone. "Regardless, my icy friend you have come at an opportune time, as our kingdom is divided, and both sides seem to be running low on moral"

Edward was out for a walk in the woods when he suddenly heard a loud noise.
He did not know where it came from but decided to go to town to check it out.

When he came to town he became completely paralyzed. Before him stood a giant dragon that brought a conversation with what seemed to be a hobbit.
"The dragons have become extinct extension. Then I must be dreaming" He tried to convince herself but every time he opened his eyes where they still there.
