I could have Sakura bring up the idea of a new jutsu. I know I bought it up but I should go dig through the OOC to remember what it was. Would it be possible for him to teach her a very easy water jutsu like Gunshot or Whip? Maybe something more basic to add to her water jutsu techniques?

You just want Sakura to yell, "Spirit Gun!", don't you? LOL COME ON JUST ADMIT IT GEN! He'll teach her the Gunshot move, since he needs to hasten her training. Mastery of Water Dragon probably needs to be put on hold.

If she learned other water styles, I'm sure it'll be easy to master the Dragon one and the others won't seem as taxing either.

Kakashi's version of mastery and hers might differ, we'll have them talk about it thoroughly as we proceed, but Sakura will definitely be introduced to more techniques as we continue!

At that very moment Kakashi is going to sidestep the desk Tsunade throws at Sakura. Don't call her old, man, not even Kakashi could protect her from that! With Tsunade's training she could definitely learn Shotgun though!

Well Sakura's line of dialogue will matter; if she has anything for Kakashi to answer as they head to her home and he lets her pack, I can probably just get us to Kakashi's home and then to the gate. From there we can decide if we want to skip ahead or have the train of dialogue begin there. I'm game for that.

Well Rasengan is basically pure chakra. If Sakura wanted an original technique, a beam of concentrated chakra from her index finger is a start, and she can always develop it more later on since it will be her own move. She can start with the water and then break it down from there, sound good?

I had to go back to page 11 or 12 to check...ahh six months ago. I mentioned water and ice. So I'm thinking the jutsu channeling into her index finger would be a start, though is it possible for water jutsu users to conjure water if it's not around? I assume I'd have her try to do some kind of water gun but also maybe fires shards of ice from the middle of the small blast?

That's fine.

Ice was a special kekkei genkai used by one person and from there no one else could really replicate it. If Sakura's mastery of water nature is good enough I see no reason why she can't learn to superfreeze her own jutsu. Originally water was meant to be unreliable due to the fact you often need a water source for it to be strong, but the 2nd Hokage could just use moisture in the air to create water at his own convenience. If you'd like Sakura to get to that level she can. At best, for now, maybe the water gun technique is the most reasonable and once she gets better a dragon would be easy?

I don't want to overpower her, I just remember seeing Sasuke make flames and I thought it wasn't fair if water users couldn't do the same as well. I'd say her own jutsu would happen in stages if we wanted use of no water, plus ice, it would probably take her a couple years to get to the end result. I'd say if she creates water, then is able to freeze a small portion, that would take some serious control and mastery. She'd need to start with being next/in water to create the orb and then it would take considerable training before she could use her chakra to say, pull in moisture from the air and then adjust that.

That's perfectly fine. She'd probably learn 'Shotgun' faster than create her own ideal 'Spirit Gun' truth be told given her level at the moment. Sasuke had come far after one month with Kakashi, and it's only been a couple days with Kakashi thus far. Once she hits the chuunin finals he'll put her through the same amount of hard work and they'll show up late again xD but it's cool cause Sakura's likely been hyped and the feudal lords want to see what a 'nobody' can really do.

So Tanzaku is a two day trip, we're including the training throughout and they'll share a room once arriving (with nothing really happening unless you have some suggestions). Locating Taro could come down to using Pakkun and the others to scout out the surrounding area of Tanzaku while Kakashi and Sakura take the town by day and night. Since the target is after children they'll be more likely to hover around areas where kids are around (a restaurant of some kind with families, a playground is a huge hit) and I'm thinking for Sakura's growth and opportunity she could manage to encounter him first with Kakashi showing up to assist her a little later?

I assume the first night will be spent camping in the woods, of the side from the road. They'd be training, doing basic work for now. Are you thinking the end of the next day, they'd arrive in Tanzaku and start gathering information that night? Be it canvasing the streets, looking where kids may be, talking to those who lost their child? Pakkun would be needed, maybe once a mother gives him something to smell? I do like the idea of Sakura running into a Sound Nin first and holding him off or trying to get info out of him?

Yes, that sounds good. The families may not be able to talk due to being intimidated, but if their child was dead already they'd probably have nothing to lose. What Tsunade and Kakashi are gambling on is that the kids are definitely still alive and somewhere within that area. They expected ninja, but not ninken to track, so there may be a hurry to relocate while Sound Ninja distract Sakura and Kakashi. If Sakura does manage to fight him off, he can either attempt to flee and lead her into a trap or she can get taken herself, or almost, until Kakashi shows up? The typical Sound Ninja are -- I assume -- to be low-chuunin to low-jonin level at best depending, so Sakura might find a challenge in one, all depends.

Sakura did find them a challenge back in the forst during the exams (Shikamaru had to convince Ino to save Sakura <3). I think since she's not as tired now, it might not be such a one sided fight if there's 1-2 Sound Nin? I don't see her pulling a victory but I don't see them steam rolling her either. I'd say one fleeing and one trying to trap or kidnap her would be likely since it could give them some kind of tool to use against Kakashi? The Sound Nin would be low level Jounin I'm guessing, so a good challenge but I'd also assume they'd underestimate Sakura and not take her that seriously.

Name means a lot and Kakashi's moniker has earned him quite the reputation. If he only came with Sakura they'd assume she was either a subordinate and that Konoha's really spread thin, or that she's someone important to him. They aren't aware it's both. The shinobi she fought in the forest were special, but the ones I'm talking about will be basically fodder, but threatening fodder for someone of her level. So they can focus on Sakura and lure her away, and try to use her against Kakashi. Even if Taro is skilled in his own right, he won't want to take much chance against someone like Kakashi. So, yes, they underestimate Sakura to the point she can inflict some damage. Taro's the smart one, but his Sound Ninja grunts are not so smart.

They can either flee to bait her into following since Kakashi isn't around, or they can signal for reinforcements to overwhelm and capture her. What do you want to do?

Taro and his men surely have seen Sakura arrive with Kakashi so maybe they're more likely to assume she's closer to him in skill than not? The flipside would then be them overestimating her and overwhelming her. Then again, she could surprise them but I don't see her lasting too long if they feel the need to go all out and then take her as some hostage. I would figure they'd send reinforcements to get her. I don't see Sakura deviating too far without Kakashi, as she knows it's risky.

Well if they bait her into pursuing before she tries to contact Kakashi it could work, it's a gamble. No matter how it ends though, Kakashi and Sakura will probably need to be dealt with either that night or a day later. If they traveled all that way they might be exhausted, perhaps a night ambush in their room?

I would assume the night they arrive in Tanzaku, they'd be checking things out and the ambush or whatever would happen the night morning?

Night/morning could work IF we decide this course of action is appropriate. We can figure it out before they arrive. Let me read this and see if I have a post in me today.
