You can have them finish lunch but for the most part I think they'd head to the lake and proceed with her training. The goal is to help improve water ninjutsu as well as her avoidance because Taro can basically one-shot if he has his hand on you long enough. If Sakura wants to practice her hand-to-hand skills beforehand she can raise the point and he'll run with it, teaching her some skills along the way.

I'll steer them towards the lake then. They could do a combination of hand to hand with the water jutsu. By now, Sakura has a good grasp on it, so somehow marrying combat and the jutsu could be tricky if he's coming at her. Though that might be asking a lot since most in that situation would just put distance to finish the jutsu instead of engage...hmmm. Now I'm just thinking any hand to hand should be put off.

I know Toph believes in tough love but she made some questionable choices in LoK, and there was some favoritism for uh ...little sister of Lin, can't remember her name atm. Toph should have been harder on her, Lin was the one trying to be good and make her proud.

Leave it to me. We can have Sakura improve on everything necessary to keep away from someone as well as defend herself if the time comes. He's giving her the moves necessary to survive rather than obliterate someone completely. I think they can end up pushing Taro towards a lake so she can use her complete arsenal on him, as of now Gunshot and the standard academy techniques as well as his other tips and advice are all she's got.

She'll be under-prepared but hopefully she'll be able to hold her own. It's a shame the Academy didn't beef up their skills as much as they probably should but I guess the history and basics are important. I'm sure having Naruto in the class slowed things down a bit too. Though were we still planning on having his men ambush Sakura with Kakashi close behind?

I think the details of the mission itself might need to be what we'd like to do. We can have it be a one-hit wonder where they spend the night at Tanzaku and manage to deal with him the next day, or they're ambushed on the way into Tanzaku, meet Taro and the Sound for the first encounter, then after dispatching some of the fodder they retreat for the time being. Kakashi and Sakura are a little ragged from their travels and have to recuperate after the skirmish. Kakashi can need recovery due to using his Sharingan, or Sakura can be somewhat injured and Kakashi can find them a room for her to recover for the night. It can be very similar to the Zabuza arc itself.

I was thinking we'd have them arrive in Tanzaku, try to question where a bunch of kidnapped kids would be hiding around the town, the next day get ambushed and pretty much deal with him that day so by nightfall, they find the kids and backup arrives the next day? When maybe they go find where they stashed Taro, they find he's already been killed by Kabuto? Or would he kill Taro in front of Kakashi or Sakura? I assume that when they'd be confronting Taro and his goons, it would sort of go in a wave, he sends his lesser men to bait Kakashi and Sakura, in the afternoon, they finally have their battle?

This can work. Kabuto can kill Taro while he's weakened to confirm that Orochimaru is indeed involved, as if the Sound ninja did not make that obvious enough. I think by that point it would be much too risky for Kakashi and Sakura to attempt to apprehend them, so Kabuto will suggest they simply go their separate ways. Taro is tutorial so yeah he might send the fodder first to soften them up and deduce their strengths in the meantime. He'll probably go for Sakura the hardest. I also want to set up Kabuto as a constant 'boss' for Sakura to deal with as she becomes stronger and stronger. Kakashi can even be fooled by him, so he's a pretty serious foe.

So you're thinking Kabuto would attack Taro just as Kakashi and Sakura are close to winning and thus apprehending him to soon question? I don't see Kabuto attacking Kakashi and Sakura yet though, I see him as more of the Lord Baelish where he just ties up the loose end and makes his escape because I'm sure Sakura would want to know if he has Sasuke. I figure if they go after Kabuto, that would be when the rest (if any are left) of the henchmen overwhelm them at the end of the long day. Like you, I see Kabuto being someone to face, but down the road.

I'm saying Kabuto would finish Taro off before he can be apprehended, but he wouldn't fight Kakashi and Sakura, he's just there to clean up. As of right now Kakashi is essentially his equal, if not his slight better, but Sakura is hilariously outgunned compared to the both of them. Kabuto would exploit her in an instant, not to mention yeah he probably came with some backup, and given Kakashi and Sakura are probably exhausted it's in their best interest to just take the children and go.

The guys haven't started but they are now...which means I have about 40-50 minutes to finish my Naruto post.

Oh yeah, we're on the same page then there, in terms of what the climax will probably look like then. I'd say after Kabuto gets away, they'd be able to back and help the kids get back to their families and I guess the Sand's nin would be able to help while Kakashi and Sakura rested that night before heading back to Konoha.

Yeah, the Sand Siblings can recover the body and take it from there while Kakashi and Sakura get some praise. Perhaps Gaara can apologize to Sakura for absolutely decimating her ass back when the Sand attacked the Leaf lol, leaving Kakashi and Sakura to rest for a night. From there we can probably skip back to Konoha unless you'd want to cover their additional training on the way back?

We could then have Gai and Lee find Kakashi and Sakura upon their return? I assume Iruka will be making his rounds to tell people he's hosting a party in like 5 days for everyone to attend.

Yeah we could start the little Gai and Lee episode then for additional training, and from there we can decide if we'll just skim over the training Sakura went through before the party unless we have some sort of plan for them that we absolutely must cover.

It would be best to skim over the training and just figure out which jutsu she has a handle on and which are still being polished. I may need to actually make a CS to keep track. >___>

xD it might be necessary eventually but so far it can't be that hard to remember it all. She'll probably have some mastery over the Water Clone technique and Water Dragon too, with some more work for the Gunshot needed. Then they review basic techniques and weapon-to-weapon/hand-to-hand together. Basics. Basics. Basics.
