The meteoric rise of a newly conquering queen. The fall of mighty heroes to the sound of an unforgiving crowd. The heroes split apart and cast back to their homelands as prisoners. The will to regain valor, power, and creed to return to the feet of the mad queen and say "No!"
---
It's short and sweet, but to the point. I wanted to make an RP that revolved around a group of heroes (4-7 or so) who are famous (or infamous) in their land as a fierce warrior. It would all take place in a land divided primarily by the geographical layout. There would one hero (or anti-hero) from each land.
Plot-wise it would work like this: The land will have been recently conquered, with the General responsible being placed as a figurehead for the kingdom's new government in the interim. The heroes will rise up (with whatever it is that motivates them to do so) as the last remnants of the resisting armies of this suffering land and challenge the woman responsible. Humoring them, she will give them the opportunity to face her best lieutenants in a gladiator-like setting.
The heroes fall to the unforeseen and overwhelming power of the conquering nation's best warriors. With most of the warriors hanging to life by mere nerve endings and others outright slain, they are defeated and therefore seen as failures by the majority of the populace. They are then imprisoned and sent back to their homelands (which are now infested with enemy soldiers who police the land) to rot either rot in prison, endure torture, or simply be executed.
And so we would find ourselves (yourselves) as newly disgraced heroes (a relative term since your motives for wanting the queen overthrown are entirely your own) on their way to their fates.
I would be working with the players extensively as we build this world together. The culture and background of your hero and their homeland are a blank canvas for us to paint together. Strange races and such are completely welcome (but within reason to maintain we don't get too out of hand). The group of heroes will know of each other. Whether or not they have personal relationships of varying to degrees with another defeated hero is up to you to work out with your fellow RP'ers. Lots of collaborating will be great though not necessary if you dislike such things.
So, we will spend the first part of the RP getting these heroes out of the clutches of the enemy and regaining both power and self.
Any questions or feedback will be appreciated. This is only a loose framework for this RP and will still be fleshed out. I will be dedicating a fair amount of my time to work on this with anyone interested despite having just stating a second (but part-time) job. So, anyone interested?
