Welcome Guardsmen to the 455th Cadian armored regiment, a proud regiment of the finest soldiers of the Emperor, the Cadian Shock Troopers. Are history dates back to the 39th millennium where we took the name of the old 455th, who had tragically...died during a Imperial Crusade. We will try to not tragically die but fight for the God-Emperor for as long as we can

As an Armored Regiment, we comprise of mostly Leman Russ Tanks, With some Hydra Flak Tanks and other types of AFV's in our ranks. Our commander, Colonel Keepard, is a caring man, who is known to not lead us to our death in a foolish tactical move. We are apart of 5th company, which is about 13 tanks, through that number may grow.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our Tanks.

The Leman Russ Battle Tank-Our main tanks in which we will be mostly comprised of, the Leman Russ is a proven Tank, through decent and not as advanced as other tanks, The Leman Russ makes that up in numbers and the morale of their crewman. The Leman Russ is armed with a Rifled 120mm Battle Cannon, on a turret and a Lascannon on a sponson. It can also have added sponson weapons.

The Leman Russ Conqueror is a less common variant of the Leman Russ, and is armed with a Rifled 105mm Conqueror Cannon, inducing firepower in favor of accuracy both on and off the move. The Conqueror is also armed with a Storm Bolter and a Lascannon on the sponson.

The Leman Russ Demolisher is the Demolisher cannon carrying variant of the Leman Russ, armed with a 200mm Demolisher cannon, through it has a much shorter range and has trouble hitting things that are not right in front of it. The Demolisher is the most common variant.

The Leman Russ Executioner is armed with a Plasma Destroyer, which is often criticized for it's high power requirements, limiting it's effectiveness in extended engagements. The Executioner makes up for this for being a potent tank killer, The turret features emergency vents, heat shielding and coolant to both protect the crew and the weapon itself from damage should a plasma containment field failure occur. However, due to bad design, the coolant feed lines run outside the turret, and are prone to damage, rendering the emergency systems less than reliable. Crews dislike being made to work in the Executioner, and are prone to bailing out at the first sign of trouble. Crews who willingly command these tanks are often seen as foolhardy, extremely brave, or insane. However, those crews who do stick to their tanks are among the best tank-killers in the Imperium, able to take out even the most heavily armoured tanks and buildings due to their powerful main gun. When the tank takes too much damage, the plasma containment field for the main gun can short out, releasing an expanding shock-wave of energy that can incinerate any infantry close to the vehicle.

The Leman Russ Vanquisher is a rarer and more advanced version of the regular Leman Russ, armed with a Rifled 155mm Vanquisher Cannon. This makes the Vanquisher a potent tank killer, and is loved by it's crews for this.

The uncommon Leman Russ Annihilator variant replaces the standard tank's Battle Cannon with a pair of Twin-linked Lascannons. This is similar to the identically-designated Predator Annihilator tank of the Space Marines from which this variant of the Leman Russ takes its name. This change requires the addition of extra power-cells inside the tank, but these use the space saved by the fact that the Battle Cannon's ammunition no longer needs to be stored. The Annihilator's twin Lascannons turn this variant into a true tank-hunter and it is in this role that the tank excels. Of course, such sophisticated tactical planning is not regarded as important by the Death Korps of Krieg Imperial Guard regiments that have been the most common users of this variant of the Leman Russ. As such, where other regiments would regard this tank-hunter as a defensive weapon, the Death Korps uses them as offensive weapons to be thrown into the open assault across no-man's land during a planetary siege.

The infrequently seen Leman Russ Exterminator variant is armed with turret-mounted Twin-linked Autocannons and is generally deployed in an anti-infantry role. Sometimes the Exterminator is also utilised as a stop-gap measure for anti-air defence due to its rapid firing speed. It is especially effective against lightly armoured horde armies such as the Orks or Tyranids, and when the tank is equipped with all anti-infantry weaponry, such as Heavy Bolters, it is capable of laying down a withering hail of ballistic fire. While the Twin-linked Autocannons have recoil dampeners they lack a muzzle brake or flash suppressor. The Exterminator is unique in that it is also used in small numbers by the Space Wolves, making it the only Leman Russ variant fielded by any Space Marine Chapter.

Armed with two 90mm Autocannons

A simple, destructive vehicle, the Leman Russ Eradicator was instrumental in the urban conflict on Khai-Zhan. Its main weapon, the Eradicator Nova Cannon, gained a fearsome reputation as a powerful anti-infantry weapon. The weapon's heavy, high-calibre ballistic shells are capable of destroying both enemy barricades and any infantry sheltering behind them with a highly volatile sub-atomic charge. This makes the Eradicator extremely effective in cities, jungles or other dense terrain. With a blast radius close to that of the Demolisher Cannon, but possessed of a longer range, the Eradicator Nova Cannon can effectively clear buildings of enemy infantry before they can even get a shot off.

The Leman Russ Punisher is the most potent anti-infantry vehicle in the Imperial Guard, and amongst the best anti-infantry vehicles in the galaxy. Armed with the Punisher Gatling Cannon, a large, multi-barrelled ballistic weapon, it is known as one of the fastest-firing slug throwers in the Imperium's arsenal. The Punisher can shred even the heaviest of infantry units with punitive ease, however, the Punisher can be outmatched by enemy tanks in a head-to-head fight, and commonly only works with other Leman Russ tank variants to make up for the loss of anti-tank firepower. The crews of Punishers have reputations for being very gung-ho and extremely trigger happy.

Armed with a 45mm Punisher Gatling Cannon.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Because I feel like it, our ammunition

Armour-piercing capped ballistic cap (APCBC)-Our main Anti-Armor ammunition, yes, it dates back to the 1930's, but what do you expect from the Guard?

Compatible Cannons-Battle Cannon, Conqueror Cannon,Autocannon,Demolisher cannon and Vanquisher cannon.

High-explosive squash head (HESH)-The Main Anti-Building ammunition, but can also be effective against light armor

Compatible Cannons-Battle Cannon, Conqueror Cannon, Autocannon, Demolisher Cannon and Vanquisher Cannon

High-explosive-The Main Anti-Personnel Ammunition, is effective against soft targets.

Compatible Cannons-Battle Cannon,Conqueror Cannon,Autocannon, Demolisher, Punisher Gatling Cannon. and Vanquisher cannon.

Anti-Armor shot and shell-The main anti-armor shell of the Punishers Gatling Cannon

Armour-piercing discarding sabot (APDS)-Perhaps the most powerful Anti-Armor Ammunition in our arsenal, and is able to penetrate most enemy targets, Of course, it is only compatible with the Vanquisher cannon.

QUESTIONS:
I assume canister is available too? (EG. stuff the barrel full of metal marbles propelled by an explosive charge and have fun with a 105mm shotgun)
How does outfitting our tanks affect performance? For example does not taking sponsons have benefits? I presume the tank is faster because it is not carrying around two extra heavy bolters plus ammo, crew etc. and slightly better protected due to not having a structural weakness in the form of a sponson shaped hole in the side armour. Given that my primary interest is in scouting I would happily trade in two weapons for the extra speed and protection.
Are we allowed to choose upgrades for our tanks? If so, what upgrades are allowed, what is their effect and how do we get to choose them? Improved comms sound very nice for example but if it means I got to literally lose an arm and a leg for it I think I'll pass.

PRELIMINARY CS:

TANK:
Tank Name: Caerbannog
Tank Number: 7
Tank type: Conqueror - hull mounted heavy bolter and no sponsons

CREW:
Commander - Sergeant Jacques 'Mad Jack' De Vries
Driver - Corporal Frits 'Blitz' Feenstra
Gunner - Guardsman Frank Goossens
Loader - Guardsman Jonas 'Hunk MacSlabmuscle' Lubbers
Radio operator/hull gunner - Guardsman Willem Maas

Commander Personality: Right at home on the battlefield he is a cheerful adrenalin junkie that loves tight scraps. Occasionally sings or makes boasts over the open vox channel to taunt his enemies into making a mistake. Off duty a fairly laid back and easily bored officer who enjoys gardening.

Commander Bio: As implied by his nickname, Jack is considered to be a bit messed up in the head due to always volunteering for scout duty. Cheerful and a great singer his tank is always in the front, leading the charge by zooming through the enemy lines to eliminate support vehicles and highlighting priority targets for heavier vehicles to eliminate.

Initially recruited from the agriworld Nendardel, his experience with racing on tractors (based off the Leman Russ chassis) made him a great tank driver right off the bat. He truly rose to fame during a short but intense conflict with a group of Chaos raiders on the agriworld of Chion VII. During a battle for one of the provincial capitals his Russ had the turret blown off killing both the commander and the gunner and leaving Jack in charge of the tank. Rather than retreat from the unseen tank destroyer or panic he slammed down on the throttle forward and used a dip in the terrain to hide his now much smaller tank. From there, coordinating carefully with the remains of his unit, he managed to sneak into the enemy back lines where, armed solely with a hull mounted lascannon and sponsoon bolters he proceeded to sow utter chaos among the lines of the heretics, annoying targets enough so that they would expose vulnerable rear turret armour to other imperial tanks and blasting tracks off tanks with the hull mounted bolter. When asked to comment on his reckless if highly successful run, he reportedly shrugged and replied with 'it was great fun and I'd love to do it again?'.

Soon after, he was promoted to commander of the Leman Russ Conqueror the Cearbannog, where he has served ever since together with the surviving comrades from Nendardel. The crew as a whole are best known for two things. The first is their relaxed easy going attitude off duty, being tolerant of quirks of people from other worlds rather than annoyed. Secondly the crew share a small portable garden of plants from their homeworld which can be smoked as a replacement for normal Lho sticks. For obvious reasons this makes them quite popular to be around during extended campaigns.

Sure, you can use canister.

I do imagine not having sponson mounted Heavy Bolters will have an affect on your tanks performance, so that's fine.

I suck at coming up with upgrades, so unless I can think of some or find inuniverse ones , no upgrades.

I can tell I will like this guy, accepted.

There are a fair amount of in universe upgrades

The tank can also be equipped with camouflage netting, extra armour plating, a Hunter-Killer Missile Launcher, improved communications equipment, a mine sweeper, a Pintle-mounted Heavy Stubber or Storm Bolter, a searchlight, track guards, rough terrain modifications, a dozer blade, and smoke launchers.

Well, I guess we can use those.

Also, I hate what quoting does to the post format, makes it into a mess.

Tank type: Leman Russ Exterminator (Lascannon on front sponson and Multimelta's on the side sponsons.)

Crew: Sergeant Eulra Rocksnow (Commander and spotter)
Corporal Tommy Landon (Driver)
Corporal Eirak Calihan (Main gunner)
Private Dogg Vandell (Lascannon)
Private Eric Daly (Port Sponson)
Private Neil Bocci (Starboard Sponson)
Commander Personality: Please don't make me do this, i can't fucking stand trying to write out a personality.
Commander Bio: Born in one of the Fenrisian tribes, he spent his early life running messages for them between the villages. He grew up into a ruthless juve, determined to prove his worth to the Sky Warriors and was quickly made into a warrior, during one battle, he was wounded badly, which is when he was taken by the Sky Warriors, who tested him to see if he was capable of joining their ranks... He wasn't... Instead, he was recruited to their armoured corps to drive their tanks. He spent most of his training maintaining the Leman Russ tanks used by the Space Wolves. He learned how to command the tanks well, very well. After proving himself capable, he was one of the few special guardsmen allowed to pilot the Space Wolves tanks into battle for them. He has been killing his way across the sector in the name of the Space Wolves for 20 years before he was granted command of his own tank... Unfortunately, command decided to start phasing the Leman Russ out of Space Wolves service in exchange for Predators.

He and his crew followed the tank when it was requisitioned by the Cadians to join their battlegroup. There was no time for a repaint, so the tank is still in her Space Wolves Livery.

Crew(Name, rank and position):

sergeant Thark - Commander

Guardsman Reiker – Driver

Corporal Thyrus – gunner

Guardsman Kurst- Loader

Commander Personality: Sergeant Thark, like most who would willingly step inside an Executioner pattern Battle tank. Is considered by many to be.... well crazy if put lightly. He is incredibly strict and caring about his machine. Constantly saying prayers to the machine spirit and trying to appease the Omissiah. He is meticulous about his vehicle and its general well being.
Yest aside from this devotional streak he is a very calm person. Only swearing or prone to outbursts of any emotion at all emotion when he is sealed inside of his beloved Executioner. Even then the outbursts are rare but they do happen from time to time during the more heated assaults. As such his crew are the only ones who have seen this side of him. They also do not speak of these episodes, some of them believe it is his constant viligence and prayer that keep the venerable plasma weapon from overloading or even exploding after all these years. Maybe he actually can speak to the machine spirit? Whatever the case they are more than content to keep whatever happens inside the tank, between themselves. And after serving in an Executioner for so long they have developed a similar mindset to their commander and are fervent in their care of tank.
To the rest of the company and his commanders have and most likely never will hear him roar profanities at the enemy as the plasma destroyer obliterates another foe or melts an enemy bunker on top of its occupants.
Commander Bio:
Sergeant Thark took command of his current tank nearly three years prior. His old Annihliator having been destroyed by the archenemy during a particularly vicious engagement. If it wasn't for the heretics terrible aim with their first two shots he doubted himself and his crew would have gotten out in time. Luckily the emperor was with him that day, or at least thats what he has to assume. Whether they were aiming that Krak Missle at their fuel tanks or their Ammuniton storage they missed entirely. If nothing else the crew was able to escape before the heretics had a chance to reload for a third attempt.

His second command since that day he was assigned something newly arrived from the forge world of Ryza. One of the ever feared Executioner Battle tanks. Most men didn't see one of these. As far as he knew no other forge worlds aside from Ryza were even willing to try and attempt to create one of these monstrosoties. Like most men his heart sank when he was given this assignment. Few men wanted such a piece, fewer men survived when the great plasma coils overheated and burst, cooking the tank and its occupants. But like a true life long solider he accepted the assignment with nod and a loud 'Sir' in confirmation of his new orders.

In truth there were no other replacement vehicles being brought out with that shipment. Certainly no tank killers like what Thark and his crew were using for nearly two years prior. SO faced with either being left behind until an exact replacement of a semi rare annihilator found its way into the regiment. Or taking the chance at death. He took his chances.

What surprised him in the next few engagements was how ….effective the plasma destroyer could be. The first few times he fired the powerful gun it took all of his willpower not to jump out of the tank when the thermometers jumped off the scale. Indeed he even had to order his crew to remain inside the vehicle. Not something he had ever had to do before. But suprisngly quickly the temperature was vented. And he took a good look at the lump of red hot molten goop that was the enemy. Nearly a half hundred tonnes of metal reduced to nothing in a matter of seconds. Even his old Annilhilator couldn't hope for these results. He was speechless, and remained that way throught the rest of the battle. He picked his shots carefully, he from rumors and stories that the plasma destroyer was infamous for its few shots. Still what ones he made were impressive to say the least. Enemy formations and vehicles weren't mearly destroyed or broken, they were rendered completely useless and hoplessly beyond repair, even if you could discern what the bubbling molten mass was before it was shot anyway.

Over the years with this vehicle there were close scraps to be sure, coolant tanks were ruptrued, Damage sustained ot the hull. The containment field threatened to short our twice after taking direct hits through the rear armour that scraped the power supply in the rear. But through the Emperor's grace and pure luck the machine spirit always pushed itself a little harder for its crew. But there is no weapon in the regiment as effective at emptying a bunker, obliterating a foe in tank or even just in a nearby building, and even opening holes in fortress doors and walls large enough for literaly a line of Lemen Russ to plow through.

Upgrades:

Thark and his crew make sure their vehicle has everything it needs, He feeds it oil and fuel like one would feed a babe. Carefully and just enough, never to much.

Second cooling tank- Thark learned quickly that in a heavy fight, even emptying one full tank could not be enough. And he could not always wait for the coolant to be finished before being forced to fire again.
He installed a second coolant tank just in case the first was ever ruptured.
Extra armour plating was installed over the rear of the tank, unlike most who simply leave the lighter armour be. He does not care about losing a few clicks an hour if it means he can continue firing without fear of his fuel tanks or coolant tanks being ruptured. The extra plating is over top of the coolant tanks and the coils leading to the Plasma destroyer for protection. Being able to cool the weapon quickly is life or death, in more way than one. They cannot risk the coils being damaged or the tanks ruptured if the weapon is threatening to overload itself. While it wont stand up to any form of anti armour, it will protect against small arms fire and basic explosions from grenades and the like.

Extra armour over the sides of the tank are for self explanitory reasons.

Track guards- Self explanitory.

All of the extra wieght in added armour do slow him down, but he considers it worth the price.

Fenris doesn't have any hive-spires. That planet is purposefully kept in the medieval age by the Wolves to breed tougher warriors. Perhaps you mean a hive spire on a planet that is a Space Wolves Protectorate?
