The Outsiders (DC comics based OC Superhero RP)

Name: Joshua Keyes Alias: Ω (Omega) Age: 27 Personality: He has unstoppable determination and a will as strong as steel. Beyond that though, he's a fun-loving guy and a great big goof. Powers: He has immense strength at his disposal, being able to lift at his best five thousand tons of sheer weight. He is able to control how gravity affects his mass, allowing him to weigh almost nothing or how much he normally would; five hundred tons. Due to his super-dense muscle, bullets and other physical damage do barely anything to him. He can shrug off more brute force than any modern tank could. At max density his muscle is as tough as adamantium. Weaknesses: If it can cut through metal, it can cut through him. In other words, energy and heat-based attacks. Magic will work too. Appearance: Joshua has skin as dark as midnight, and is bald. He has bright green eyes that can either look extremely menacing, or as kind and kind can be. He is seven foot nine with a huge chest, and shoulders 2.2 feet wide. And as said before at max weight he is five hundred tons. But he keeps his weight at around 340 pounds. BRIEF Bio: Joshua grew up as an ordinary kid as far as anyone could tell. Didn't know his father, and no one he knew did either as his mother refused to talk about him. But at puberty, it was seen that he was no regular kid. He reached 7'9" when he was sixteen, and was just as big and strong as he is now. He doesn't even know how these powers showed up, or where he got them from. One thing's for sure he intends to find out. What they bring to the team: He's a tank; slow, heavy hitting, and able to take heavy hits as well. He's the one to walk in front and soak in the damage so the other members can work. Notes: Derp? You have heard of the Justice League? Yes, of course you have, who on this planet hasn't. What of Young Justice, the team of sidekicks and apprentices, who just last year stopped the Tomorrow Woman and her insane plans? I was one of them for a while, that is correct, but not any more. I no longer think their methods are enough to protect this world. Just as prevention is better than cure, we must seek out the root of evil before it flowers into something far more sinister.

For this reason I have been tasked with forming a team, one unlike any other. We will work in the shadows. We will take on the missions the League dares not. We will cross the lines that 'good' men cannot, all in the name of protecting the innocent. We will do what must be done, even if it blurs the line between right and wrong.

If we do our jobs right no one will even know we have done a job at all. We will not be celebrated as heroes. We will be the monsters on the side of angels.

We will be Outsiders.

Fenrir

This game, set in an alternate DC comics universe, will explore what it means to really be a hero. The sacrifices that must be made, the costs that demand payment, the lines that have to be crossed. Just like in the real world things aren't going to be black and white. Every action and choice will have a consequence, some good and some bad.

The Outsiders is actually a spin-off from Kid Lanterns long running Young Justice RP, a concept I've never seen on this site. In essence this will allow us to share a continuity, opens up story telling potential, helps with universe building and gives us the option of crisis crossovers further down the road.

I'm looking for a small (About four or five), dedicated group of players to take on the roles of a group of misfits and outcasts, anti-heroes and reformed villains. The type of guys that would never make it on the Justice League or Avengers, but might just have what it takes for the Outsiders. Characters should preferably be OC's, but you can put new spins on preexisting DC characters. Ideally I'm after a real mix of powers and personaltys. Diversity is the key to a good superhero team in my opinion. Below is a skeleton CS, as well as the CS for my character Fenrir to showcase what I'm looking for.

Weaknesses

Alpha Male Mentality, Arrogant. Lack of fine digit control and inability to process complex tasks, such as driving a car or typing at a keyboard while in wolf form. Loss of control while in 'wolf mode', making him a danger to both friend and foe. Problems with anger management.

Appearance

Magnus is just under 6' tall, with broad shoulders that taper too slim hips, a wolf-lean physique that grants him great speed and strength. His hair grows wild and course, with a beard that most would call untamable. His eyes are a piercing blue that seem almost canine. His teeth look a touch to long and sharp, and there is something just a touch too savage about him to be considered normal.

When he transforms he becomes a 6'7" tall bipedal wolf-man. His head is large and lupine with bright, blue eyes and massive canine jaws ending in rows of sharp teeth. His shoulders are muscular but not too heavy for his frame, arms long and powerful. His legs are digitigrade and both fingers and toes have long, tough talons capable of shredding through armour plating. He also has a tufty tail, one that is constantly getting in his way, however it also helps him keep his balance. Pardoning the pun he is wolf lean without a shred of fat on his body. His entire form is covered in thick, coarse black hair.

His Nth metal armour has been cunningly crafted with a series of hinges and clasps that open up to allow him to transform while wearing it and still provide enhancement and protection to both his human and 'Wolf' forms.

Brief Bio

Fittingly enough Magnus Boyle was born in Alaska, on a balmy midsummer night during a full moon in 2002. His parents were overjoyed with their lusty, new-born baby boy, However when he grew his baby inch long canines and chewed through the furniture things weren't quite as jovial. From then on it was obvious Magnus wasn't a normal boy. He never got sick,he would howl at the moon, tore his fluffy stuffed bunny into shreds with his teeth, all sorts of stuff that would be hard to justify as 'normal'. He was never violent to his family or friends but it was off-putting enough to warrant a visit to the family doctor.

They tried to keep Magnus's peculiarities a secret from the world at large, but secrets have a habit of getting found out. No one is sure were they came from but in the year 2012 several black vans were seen around the Boyles' home town. Shortly after that Magnus went missing. His parents still search to this day, but they have never found so much as a whisker of their son. Secretly he was captured by a highly classified agency with the goal of creating their own meta-powered army, led by the sinister Dr Gretta Tante. Eventually Magnus escaped, but not before they had turned him into an unrecognizable Wolfman.

Magnus 'assisted' Hawkman in taking down a League of Shadows assassin cell that was set to remove a politician from office. I say assist, but it would be more accurate to say that the Wolf brutalized the ninja's before Hawkman stepped in, stopping Magnus from tearing the assassins limb from limb. The two fought, as heroes usually do upon first meeting, with Hawkman gaining the upper hand after a lengthy fight. The Feathered Avenger was impressed with Magnus's sheer power, but realized his savagery could become extremely destructive if left unchecked, and decided to take the pup under his wing, so to speak.

Eventually Fenrir joined the original Young Justice team, taking part in the efforts against Shrapnel and Deathstroke, but left after a feeling abandoned by his team mates and a disastrous battle with an Atlantean mutant. He eventually rejoined just in time to help the Team take down the villain Cinderblock, and played a key role in stopping Clara Kendall and her cyborg army from dominating Northern America.

Superman and Hawkman, deciding that Fenrir's training is complete, have publicly given the Wolfman reserve League status. In secret however they have tasked him with forming a new team, one that can handle threats that the League cannot.

What they bring to the team

Fenrir brings a wealth of experience to the Team. Though young he has been involved with Young Justice and the Justice League in some form or another for almost two years, and before that he was trained by the villainous Granny to be a living weapon. He's one of the best hand to hand fighters in the world, and already knows that sometimes doing the right thing isn't easy.

However he also brings his faults. His vendetta against Granny can sometimes blind him to the bigger picture, hampering him in ways that can affect the mission. His Wolf form is savagery unbound, and almost completely out of his control. In it he is just as likely to hurt friend as he is foe.

Matt/Inkblot

Name: Matt Hunter

Alias: Inkblot

Age: 21

Personality: Matt is aggressive when pushed to far, calm in almost every type of situation, he is a bit ignorant in some situations, is caring towards kids and would basically do almost anything to protect them (for reasons even he doesn't know), Matt is surprisingly really friendly and can make for good company, he is loyal to anyone he considers on his “team”

Powers: Matt doesn't have any “super” powers, but to some people being able to learn all most every major fighting style out there is sort of a power. None the less Matt is gratefully skilled at hand to hand combat and usually has to prove it when he is on the job. Matt also very good at free running which usually comes in handy when he needs to out run something or someone or just trying to make a good get away.

Weaknesses: One of Matt’s weaknesses come from him never compromising the task whether it leads to him dead or sending a whole nation into chaos. Also sine he doesn't have any special powers Matt also has the weakness of basically any normal person.

Appearance Matt stands at 5’ 8” with shaggy black hair and blue eyes. When not geared up and wanting to blend in with everyone else he wears a light grey hoodie black pants and a white t-shirt. When Matt has his gear on he wears a grey shirt, a black hoodie with fur around the wrists and the hood, a pair of light grey jeans, and has headphones around his neck (cause you know who doesn't love listening to music when fighting crime.) Matt also where’s a mask that has a pattern on it that changes.

BRIEF Bio: Matt tries to forget his past after he begun to wear his mask, but he can always remember like yesterday. Matt grew up in some of the worst neighborhoods you could think about. His parents didn't have much money and when they did get enough money to try and move out a man who ran a local gang always came knocking at their door demanding protection money. Matt was always told just to listen to the man when he asked for money, but Matt knew that's not how things should be around his home.

When Matt turned twenty-one he finally had money for him and his mom to finally move out. Yet again the man and his gang showed up to collect the money, but Matt refused and the man told his men to trash the house. When they left Matt went to his room and grabbed his bag and left to follow the gang back to their hideout.

When some of the people guarding the main entrance saw Matt coming they laughed. When Matt came face to face with them he punched one of the guards knocking him out, and the others stopped laughing and yelled “your dead!” The guards ganged up on Matt but that worked to his advantage. When one of them swung a bat at him he grabbed it and broke that guards hand and using the bat against another guard coming at him with a tire iron. After finishing the last of the guards Matt kicked open the door and demanded to the boss. He then was greeted with guns being pointed at him and being escorted to the boss. While on his way Matt whipped around facing the guy aiming a pistol at his back, and disarming him before firing at the others causing them to scatter. With that Matt quickly made his way to the man who was in charge of the gang.

Matt finally found him sitting on a pile of stacked boxes like he was a king. Matt shouted “cowered get down here and fight me!” The man laughed and hoped down while cracking his knuckles. The man pulled at a gun and shot at Matt who had to run behind a crate for cover. When the man finally ran out of ammo Matt hoped over the crate and attacked him landing a couple good hits. Matt was almost done when he saw a wall that looked really weak, so he punched the man before grabbing his shirt and running towards the wall shooting it with the gun he had and smashing the man through it. The man said Matt had won and could take back his money, but as Matt looked around he saw that they most have busted into the room that had all the valuables that were taken over the years. Matt saw the money pile and started to fill his bag with it, and was about to leave when he saw something. It was mask that had a pattern on it but it kept changing. When Matt was holding it he knew what to do next he kicked the boss one more time knocking him out and leaving through the back entrance.

Matt returned home but he stood at the door of his mom’s place and wondered. Quickly Matt took out a piece of paper and wrote a note before leaving it with the bag of money he had. Telling her that he now has the stuff to move out to a better place and she can too with the amount of money he got from the gang, but the reason he did that instead of staying with her Matt knew that the world is too corrupt and needs change. At the same time Matt knew he couldn't put his mother endanger like that, so he left without saying a word just leaving her money to move away from it all. After he snuck back into his room while his mom answered the door. And gathered the rest of his stuff. Matt spent a great amount of time studying and learning many different fighting styles, and every now and then taking on a gang that proves to be a problem. Through this process Matt earned the name Inkblot because that's what most people describe what had happen when he showed up.

What they bring to the team?: Matt is able to always find a way of getting information out of someone, and is good at planning any sort of mission whether it is a break in and gather information or a go in guns blazing kind of thing. Matt is also good at stealth and scouting out a place before moving in.

-Matt’s methods of getting information can be a bit different then most other heroes guess that's why he is in the outsiders.

@gamer5910 Sorry for taking so long to get back to you Gamer.

Ok, couple things here.

1. He's too similar to Rorschach. I know that the Matt's design is supposed to be inspired by Alan Moore's character, but with Inkblots personality, style and appearance the similarities start to get a bit too heavy. What is unique about Inkblot from Rorschach?

2. When and how did Inkblot learn all his martial arts? There's no mention of it in his bio at all.

3. Why did he leave his mother with just a note? There doesn't seem to be any animosity between the two, in fact they seem quite close, so I'm having trouble wrapping me head around why he would just up sticks.

4. The Outsiders are still a secret from the general public. They recruit heroes rather than heroes coming to them.

1. All I can say about what separates Matt and Rorschach is right now there isn't much of a difference, but I can change Matt's outfit and change up his personality by adding some more things that didn't really come to my mind at first.

2. Thanks for pointing this out because I actually forgot to add this in his bio. After Matt left home he spent a huge chunk of time learning many different fighting styles, and in his mean time occasionally fighting some gangs that prove a problem.
