[IC] Ruka's Wolf Pack

Ruka was atop of his rock and watching for any danger or wolves passing by.

Wildflower was stalking the perimeter of the pack's territory. She had the urge to run off when she heard birds in the distance, or dears galloping about, but denied her instinct. She raised her head and sniffed the air, her tail swinging back and forth. In the corner of her eye she spotted Ruka, the lone Alpha. She wondered who he would choose as his mate, he had to get one soon. She turned her attention to Ruka and let out a lone bark, to let him know she was out here. She wondered what the rest of the pack was doing, and decided that just before midday she would call them together for a hunt. Someone would have to stat behind to protect the pups, which would mean their team would be small, but she figured that was fine by her.

Autumn wandered through the trees, calling for her mother. She had told her to stay by rock and she would come get her but where was she? Autumn felt her ears lower. Had she done something wrong to make mother mad? The pup yelped as she stumbled over a root and tumbled to the ground. She lay for a moment before slowly getting to her feet and shaking any leafs that might have clung to her fur. She resumed calling, felling fear well up inside her. What if she was lost and never found mother? Terrified the pup turned but realized she had no clue which way was back to the rock. The forest suddenly feeling dark and scary, Autumn quickly back against a tree, wide amethyst eyes darting around at every sound she heard. A sudden snap of a twig nearby sent the pup whirling around. A pair of eyes glowed at her from the undergrowth. The pup whimpered, turned and fled blindly through the trees. She tripped many times but always scrambled to her feet and kept going. Finally, when she caught sight of the river she tripped over something and went flying. When she finally managed to stagger to her feet she turned to see what it was that had tripped her. She blinked in surprise when she saw it was a pup around her age laying there. His fur was a dark gray in color. He had black on the tips of his ears, his behind and the tip of his tail. She couldn't see the color of his eyes because they were closed. Autumn cautiously crept up to him, poked the pup with her paw then leaped away as if he was going to bite her. When he didn't move Autumn crept over again and poked him again. Her eyes widened when she felt his wet fur. He also seemed to be shivering. The pup glanced around before she curled her smaller body around his, hoping her body heat would dry him and stop the shivering.

Ranger sat at the base of his favorite tree looking around at the others until he got bored and walked over to the perimeter of their area and just sat there staring out at the trees which could likely hide dangers that only big wolves could handle, 'I want to go out so bad' he thought to himself.

The pitch black furred wolf was scanning the pack to see if everyone was there and okay. When Leila saw that everyone was okay, she turned and walked to her cave. She only went there when she wanted to be alone or there was nothing she could do. Once there at the cave, she walked in letting the darkness camouflage her body. She sat at the mouth of the cave, but made sure she was covered in the dark. She had a good view of the pack and would hear if anyone was in trouble. But for now, she relaxed laid her hands on her paws as she used her senses. She could hear the sound of the birds chirping and singing, other animals running around, the sound of droplets touching the ground. It was all relaxing to her. Leila knew they were going to hunt in a little for food for the pack. She couldn't wait to actually dig her claws in the animal and rip-, she shook her head a bit killing the thought from her head. Just can't wait to eat, was all she thought before going back to what she was doing.

His reflection gazed back up at him crisp and clear. Looking up over the pond, it was as if glass. He dipped his head down after gazing around and lapped up some water breaking the surface tension. After drinking his fill it was time to move on and go about the daily business. Soon it would be time to hunt, and the anticipation was killing him. Ulfang was hungry, and he knew that others would be as well. He started his way back to the den, where his pack would most likely start to converge. His would make a small detour near the river, just to make sure things were as they should be and nothing else was amiss. He started on his way at a jog.

Dodger's eyes slowly crept open as he propped up his head a bit seeing a bluish black furred pup infront of him, startled he quickly got up into an attack stance growling(which since hes a pup is actually quite adorable.) he bares his teeth trying his best to look menacing.

Autumn yelped as the pup she had been trying to warm up started growling. Autumn scrambled to her paws, ears lowering to lay flat against her head as she backed up slowly. "I-I'm sorry! You w-were wet and cold and I-I was trying to warm y-you up." She whimpered, continuing to back away until her paws touched the edge of the river. She froze, the realization that she was literally backed into a corner flashing through her mind. The river was knocked off the list seeing as the current was too strong for her. She wondered if she would be able to dart around him.

Dodger seeing the pup was as startled as he was sat down right there and smiled."s..sorry i growled..you startled me.." he says as he examines his surroundings catching movement in the corner of his eye and running off after it eventually catching the squirrel and returning to the tree proudly and happily with the squirrel dripping blood as he held it in his mouth. He drops the squirrel starting to dig in as he is really hungry and after a little bit he looks up with piercing blue eyes, his snout covered in blood"want some?" he asked nudging it toward her a bit"I'm Dodger.... but you can call me Dodge."

Ruka perked up at the bark sent by Wildflower and replied to her with a howl.

Dodger seeing the pup was as startled as he was sat down right there and smiled."s..sorry i growled..you startled me.." he says as he examines his surroundings catching movement in the corner of his eye and running off after it eventually catching the squirrel and returning to the tree proudly and happily with the squirrel dripping blood as he held it in his mouth. He drops the squirrel starting to dig in as he is really hungry and after a little bit he looks up with piercing blue eyes, his snout covered in blood"want some?" he asked nudging it toward her a bit"I'm Dodger.... but you can call me Dodge."

Autumn stared at him warily, body slowly relaxing. She carefully sat down and examined the wolf in front of her. She noted his eyes were blue, now able to see them clearly. As she continued to gaze at him she jumped in surprise when he suddenly took off. When he returned with a squirrel Autumn couldn't but gaze at him in awe. She was never able to catch prey, she was too clumsy and tripping over things. He nudged the squirrel her way and right as she was about to refuse and say she wasn't hungry her tummy chose at that moment to make itself known. She felt her pelt heat up in embarrassment. "I-I'm Autumn." She said shyly as she leaned down to take a small bite of the food. A howl suddenly echoed through the forest and Autumn bolted upright, eyes wide as she looked around. At first she thought it was her mother but as she listened she noticed the tones were too low to be her mothers voice. This howl belonged to a male. Autumn began trembling, hoping they wouldn't get in trouble if they were anothers' land.

Ulfang eventually made his way to the river, after taking several stops to admire the landscape. He eventually rounded a bend on land next to a part of the river that was slightly lower then the rest. It would be an easy place to cross, as many rocks jutted out of the water to form a sort of path. Something out of the corner of his eye caught his attention, it looked like something moved up ahead of him, something relatively small. His focus broke however as a howl erupted across the landscape. Recognizing it as Ruka's, he began to move ahead, running now. Almost immediately after starting out, he ran through a bramble of low undergrowth coming out on the other side, face to face with two small pups, eating what appeared to be a squirrel.

Wildflower heard Ruka's howl, and her tongue gutted out, forming a wolfish grin. She ran full speed back to the rock, forgetting the task at hand, because soon it would be time for the hunt. Her stomach rumbled, and she tried to Sprint back even faster. She wondered where the others were, and brought herself to a swift stop, she sniffed the air and the hairs on her back raised. She smelled members of her pack, but she also smelled something else. She didn't know if it was hostile yet, but she decided to start approaching the nearest scent, which happened to be Ulfang's. She could only smell one other creature in his direction, but she wanted to make the scale tip in their favor.

Leila heard a howl which made her eyes open when they were closed to fall asleep. She perked her ears up listening deeper then noticed it was the alpha howling. And with the howl, she could hear the sound of running. Well better check it out then, so she got up to see who was running. She creeped out of the cave feeling the sun touch her fur making her shake a bit. Then she focused where she heard running and ran towards the direction. As she was running, she could smell faint scent of blood that filled her nose as she got closer more. It made her stomach rumble as she licked her teeth. She ran faster but stopped when she could smell the scents of pack members. But she could also smell another scent she didn't recognize. As she got there, she saw Ulfang and two pups and also she could smell another scent, which smelled mostly of Wildflower. But she watched the two little pups then at Ulfang. She took a sniff of the air and her eyes darted to the squirrel the little ones were eating.

Autumn's ears pricked when she heard a rustling in the bushes. Was it more prey? She padded over to investigate however she quickly back-petaled. Her ears quickly lowered again when a large wolf stepped out. The pup's eyes widened and she whimpered, gazing up at him. His fur was a brilliant white that sparkled in the sun. It looked like snow. She had a brief wonder if she touched it it would be cold. She was quickly snapped from her musing when two more wolves stepped out. They all had a similar scent so she assumed they were all part of the same pack. The tiny pup whimpered again, unconsciously pressing up against Dodge for comfort. Her small body was trembling from fear and her tail was lowered between her legs.

When Wildflower was in viewing distance of the pups, she whipped her head around and looked confused. Lone pups? Was this a ruse of some sort? Wildflower had never seen lone pups before, and approached with caution. That was, until she saw Leila rushing towards the food the pups we're eating. She felt motherly instincts kick in, and ran towards the pups. When She got there, she stopped in front of them and bared her teeth, even at the huge Ulfang. She twisted now and then, to see if Leila was going to pounce or if Ulfang was going to step up to the offensive plate. In her old pack, they killed weak pups like these, and she had no idea how this thing would work. She still growled, her tail up, and the hair on her back standing at full attention. She peaked behind her back at the pups, and her eyes slightly softened. They looked so tiny, so defenseless. She looked back at Ulfang and Leila and snarled. "Don't touch them. Not yet, we can see what Ruka says."

Leila felt her eyes roll then said in a soft voice, "I wasn't going for the food. I wasn't going to hurt them. I wasn't even going to kill them. It's called checking what was going on. Don't go snarling at people who are trying to help." The female beta let out a puff of air as if snickering before she turned saying as she turned to look at the pups, "Lets take them if you want to protect them. It would be safer." She looked at the Wildflower, her eyes held a bit of emotion that she actually thought she was going to hurt the pups. Or take something from them. But she made the emotion disappear from her eyes then looked at Ulfang. Saying again, "And I'm sure he wasn't going to hurt them too."

Ruka ran after his pack to see what the fuss was about, but slowed to stop once he saw the lone pups. He looked around to see if either of their parents were around before turning his attention back to the pups. "What are your names?" He asked the pups.

Wildflower only had a second to nod at Leila, before Ruka came and asked the pups a question. Wildflower lowered her tail and walked away, feeling ashamed of herself. Of course she had been too quick to judge. She almost always was. She laid down in a soft patch of grass a small walk away, listening to the conversation from a distance. Next time she would have to be more careful, someday the Beta was going to snap at her, and She would have to run away with her tail between her legs like a runt.

Autumn looked up at the new male wolf that had appeared, still pressed against Dodge. She had been slightly surprised when one of the wolf's had raced over to them and snarled at the others. "I-I'm Autumn." She replied softly, ears still flattened with fear and unease. She sensed a sort of power coming from the wolf in front of her and she assumed him to be the Alpha. She whimpered again, wondering what was going to happen to them.
