While I don't have a concrete plan yet, I would still like to propose this as a concept pitch to anyone who might be interested in taking part. The game will be set in the "Birth by Sleep Era". In other words, a time when Keyblade Masters were still teaching apprentices. Though unlike Birth By Sleep, this will be set 60 years before KH1 instead of just 10. As such, many familiar characters will not be appearing because this will be happening before their time. The basic gist is that in The Land of Departure, Master Yen Sid (Who would still have been a Keyblade Master at the time) is preparing his most recent pupils for the Mark of Mastery Exam when he receives urgent news. A man by the name of Malcolm has reportedly returned and this is worrysome enough that Yen Sid postpones the exam and, for the first time since the Keyblade War, unlocks the Lanes Between so that the threat can be dealt with. As for who Malcolm is and why he's such a big deal, here's the rough draft version of the story. 25 years prior to the events of the RP, the Keyblade wielders were thriving, using The Land of Departure as their home world. Back then, they called themselves the Keyblade Society, and they governed The Land of Departure with a Council of Keyblade Masters. One of the Councilmen, Malcolm, abruptly leaves The Land of Departure by means unknown after he attacks and kills the other members of the council. Once departed, Malcolm begins experimenting with the forbidden power of Darkness, infusing it with various test subjects and eventually creating a force of creatures that only he could control. Using his new creations, Malcolm launched an attack on the Keyblade Society. With no council, the Society was forced to elect one of their Keyblade Masters as King so that he could use the authority thereof to lead the Society in what came to be known as the War of Souls. Malcolm's new creatures appeared to possess no hearts or minds, nothing that could identify them as anything other than pure abominations that the Society soon dubbed The Soulless. After a series of fierce battles, the King finally managed to put down Malcolm, though the exact circumstances of that battle have remained a mystery. All that is known is that both Malcolm and the King were destroyed in that battle. So yeah, Keyblade Master gone dark threatened to destroy the Keyblade Society 25 years ago, was apparently stopped, but is now somehow returned with his creatures the Soulless. In the end it will be up to a group of Apprentice Keyblade Wielders to discover the truth about the war and put a stop to the mad man Malcolm once and for all. Before I end this post, I feel the need to warn everyone that the nature of this setting means that none of the previous worlds can be visited, since none of those characters or stories have come around yet. That means we'll need to work together to come up with some new ideas for worlds to visit. Hope you're up to the challenge, and I hope to read your responses soon!

Very interested!! one thing that surprises me is that most people don't realise that the heartless have always been around in KH. They were just much rarer then.

While that is true, at the same time I kind of felt like Heartless were becoming a bit superfluous as a threat so I made up the Soulless to give us something new to think about. The Soulless are essentially Frankstein monsters created by mashing together traits of various creatures (Heartless included) and then injecting them with pure Darkness to give them life and a source of power.

So a quick Inquiry to the set up. You mention we will not be visiting the worlds used in the games. Does that also Apply to worlds our characters could have came from? I happen to have this OC laying about who came from Wonder Land and just wanted to know if it would be possible to use her for this setting or if I would have to come up with someone new?

The set up kind of assumes we're all from The Land of Departure. The Lanes Between have been locked since the Keyblade War so there's no plausible way for characters to get to The Land of Departure from other worlds.

This seems like it could be fun. Hopefully this KH RP of yours doesn't ground to a halt after the first world. One thing that caught my eye was the name of this RP; Forbidden Fruits. Is there any connection to you new avatar?

A vague one, perhaps. I have no plans to include a cursed forest realm if that's what your wondering. Locks on the other hand... well, *shh* Spoilers.

My interests are peaked. However I must ask are we all going to be Keyblade bearers? Just a curious question since it seems that perhaps keyblade bearers are less common after the events described above, at least that's what I got from it or would you like diversity with a few other things inbetween. Of course keyblades no doubt have the largest role but I'm just curious would you have other weapons like how Sora has Donald and Goofy.

Unfortunately, Keyblades are bit of a necessity in this scenario. At this point in time in-universe, the Keyblade Gliders and Lanes Between are the only known way to travel between worlds since Gummi Ships haven't been invented yet. This means that Non-Bearers are virtually incapable of traversing the worlds. There are the Corridors of Darkness, of course, but those are a bit of a rarity in this setting (Malcolm is thus far the only individual who has ever mastered using them) and I don't think Yen Sid would approve of their use. Plus, I don't think there's much reason for Yen Sid to be teaching pupils who aren't Keyblade Bearers since this does center around a Mark of Mastery exam and all.

We have a fairly good amount of people to start with. Unfortunately the OOC/IC will have to wait until some time tomorrow as I've got something going on today. Other than that we should be good to go.
