Ezra nodded. "Thank you," she said before heading to the back. She realized just how disgusting she was when she undressed and stepped into the hot shower. It had been a week since she last showered and it felt amazing. She grabbed the soap and started washing her body, cleaning all the dirt and grime off. Ugh... this is awful. Next she started to clean her hair. Her mind wandered as it always did when she showered. Of course she thought about the witch and the curse. Yet her mind wandered to Zugos.
He was quite sarcastic. And playful, even when he was hearing serious news. It was strange and she hoped it wouldn't increase on their way back to the kingdom. Of course she couldn't complain could she? He was using so much energy and time and magic on them. She guessed it could seem charming. At least a little. But she had to focus on the task at hand.
She got out of the shower and dressed. The outfit was a nice blouse and pants that would be comfortable to ride in. Much better than the dress she had to wear on the way there. She suddenly wondered if she needed to bring weapons. Surely mortal weapons wouldn't work on a witch. Still, the woods could be filled with bandits. She had to avoid some on the way there. The only reason she wasn't robbed and raped was probably because she moved too much to give them a chance to get to her. But she still didn't know how she survived an entire day passed out. Maybe she should buy some weapons. She couldn't rely on Zugos. Plus he'd be using a lot of energy on keeping himself cloaked. She checked to see if she had a coin purse in her tattered dress's hidden pocket. She did, but there wasn't too much in it. About 20 gold coins. Although in a small town such as this perhaps the prices were lower? She had no idea. But she'd have to risk it. Maybe a dagger or two. A bow and arrows if she could afford it.
She came back from the shower dressed and her hair brushed and damp. She kept the coin purse in her right riding boot. "I'm ready," she said upon entry.
(So sorry it's taken so long.)
