[IC] City Comes to the Country (Tyler Night and Whitelily)

[Tyler Night]

"Yeah, I got 2 types of shrimp and 6 pounds of filet mignon for under 60 bucks with 2 bottles of wine and some chocolate truffles."

He pulls out the box of chocolates and smiles holding them out to her.

"Coffee, sea salt, rum and cherry."

"I love cherry!"

Ele, gasped, picking one up and taking a delicate bite. Her eyes rolled back in pleasure at the taste,

"Oh my goodness! Its so good!"

[Tyler Night]

"Well, mostly locally sourced ingredients are used here. We are only like 2 hours from the biggest single exporter of cherries in the world."

He closes the hatch and walks to the front of the car and holds out the chocolates for her again.

"Try the rum with it. You will have a similar reaction."

He climbs in the car and fires it up.

Eke couldn't help but laugh, of course Tyler would mention the rum.

The long drive eventually lulled Ele into a light sleep, her head resting against the window. The fun at the water park, plus still recovering from her accident had wiped her out.

He drives for a while back home eventually coming to a stop.

"Ele, wake up. You need to see this."

He shuts the car off and hops out and walks across the road. Out in the distance is a field with 8 deer.

"Hmm?"

Ele woke in a daze with enough time to see Tyler getting out of the car and go across the road. Unbuckling herself. Ele rubbed her eyes as she followed him and looked out into the field,

"Oh how pretty!"

A fond smile crossed her face as Ele watched the deer grazing. Golden Gate Park had some deer, and across the bay in the hills there were plenty of herds, but it never go old to see the quiet, graceful creatures.

Suddenly a couple fawns come running out of the woods chasing after each other. They run around the adults then dash back into the woods, keeping this up for a while.

"Never get tired of watching fawns play like this."

He looks over at Ele smiling.

"They're so cute!"

She squeaked, trying to keep her voice down so she didn't startle the deer away. The fawns frolicked for a while, and Ele was content to watch them, but soon enough the herd moved farther away and disappeared into the trees. Smiling, Ele looked up at Tyler,

"That was cool. Let's get back though, I want to get this food into the fridge as soon as I can."

Turning to go back to the car, Ele looked down at the ground and paused, her head tilting to the side as something caught her eye. Bending, Ele picked up a dull white stone with red rings around it and one end dark grey. Holding it up, Ele examined the rock closely,

"This is cool, I haven't seen a rock like this before."

She said, holding the stone out to Tyler.

[Tyler Night]

"I see them quite often, but no clue what kind they are. We have lots of interesting rocks around here though."

He rummages through the gravel and pulls out an oblong rock with uniform honeycomb designs all over it.

"State stone. It is called the Petoskey Stone."

He holds it out to her.

"Oooh!"

Ele said, taking the rock. Despite the appearance, the spots were smooth and Ele found herself rubbing the rock with her thumb. She put it in her pocket,

"Well there, we traded rocks so we're friends forever now. You're never getting rid of me."

She said teasingly, heading back to the car.

He smiles and heads back to the car. He turns the car back on and takes off once again.

"You know, I wouldn't want to get rid of you anyways."

He says looking over at her with a smile.

"Why not?"

Ele asked, genuinely curious. She leaned back in her seat and pulled out her rock to examine the pattern again.

"I mean, I don't want you to get rid of me, I like being around you, but why do you want to keep me around?"

"Because I like you and your company."

He chuckles and continues driving.

"Wanna go straight to the resort or stop by my house?"

"Well if we hang out at your house, I would need to use your fridge. I'm making you dessert tonight, by the way."

Ele informed Tyler,

"So I guess it doesn't matter, I'll can make it at either place."

[Tyler Night]

He chuckles.

"That is fine. We could hang out on my deck for a while."

He turns and starts heading to his home.

"We will be there soon."

He drives a few more miles finally reaching his home. He drives into his garage and parks.

"Alright, lets get inside."

He hops out and unlocks the hatch, grabbing out all the bags.

Going ahead of Tyler, Ele opened the front door and held it open for him before closing it behind her and going to the kitchen. When the bags were on the counter, Ele found hers and began unpacking the things she would need for Tyler's tiramisu. The other things she put all in one bag and put them in the fridge.

"Okay, so I've never made this before, but I have a good idea of how it goes. So bear with me if it takes a little while."

[Tyler Night]

"It is really simple, just kind of labor intensive."

He grabs out a glass 9 by 13 pan and puts it out for her.

"This pan is over 30 years old. I have a pastry brush in the drawer by the stove."

He grabs a can of mountain dew voltage from the fridge.

"Have fun."

He walks into the living room and cracks open the can.

"I feel so domestic right now..."

Ele muttered, getting started on the dessert. A while later, Ele placed the finished dish in the fridge to cool until after dinner. Joining Tyler in the living room, Ele sat on the couch next to him with a sigh,

"Phew! Okay, it will be ready for tonight, whenever you're ready for it. It looks pretty enough, I hope it tastes pretty."

[Tyler Night]

"Can't hardly go wrong with it."

He says with a smile, leaning back next to her.

"I am thinking about making stuffed beef wellington for dinner. How would you like that?"

He asks looking over at her, taking a sip of his voltage.

"Sounds fancy,"

Ele said with a smile, reaching over and grabbing Tyler's drink from his hand and taking a sip before giving it back to him. This was a strange feeling for her, being so comfortable with someone. Back home, Ele had very few people she considered "friends" and only one who Ele was close enough to divulge her past. Kate was a sweet girl, kind and patient who balanced Ele's own impatient, impulsive self. They had met as college roommates and became as close as sisters, and Ele only trusted Kate... But now as she smiled cheekily at Tyler, Ele felt as though just maybe she could trust him. Just a little though, not enough to hurt much.
