[Tyler Night]

He laughs.

"I pushed it too hard. But man, you took off like a bat out of hell."

He smirks at her.

"If you feel like doing a solo run you can pull the car from the track and the other controller. It will actually time the lap."

"I'm surprised it stayed on the track!"

Ele smiled as she picked up the car and examined it up close. She still couldn't tell the type of car it was, but she liked the colors and the look of it; sporty, compact, meant to be fast.

"It's my favorite colors, but what kind of car is it?"

[Tyler Night]

"That would be a mazda rx7. I will show you some video's of the real thing. It is quite a rare car in real life now."

He walks over to a pc and logs onto youtube and brings up a video of it. It is a drag video with multiple rx7's.

"Keep in mind, this is a 1.3 liter engine. My camaro is 5.7, give you an idea of the actual size of the engine."

He plays one of the first videos that pops up and smirks turning the screen for her to see.

Coming around to Tyler's side, Ele bent over to see the screen as the video started, then had a sneaking suspicion of someone looking at her. Looking sideways, Ele could see a couple of the guys in the store with their eyes pinned on her butt. Blushing, Ele stood up straight and turned her eyes back to the video,

"You would think these guys have never seen woman before."

She muttered.

He stands directly behind her, ruining their view.

"Well, most of them are high schoolers."

He chuckles.

"Pretty cute little cars aren't they?"

With Tyler behind her, Ele visibly relaxed and focused on the video. Catching the clips with the car, she smiled and nodded,

"I like it. Maybe I'll buy one for myself once I'm home."

She smiled over her shoulder at Tyler,

"Then I could trick it out and you and I could race!"

"Good luck finding one, I have been searching for years, you are either paying 10 grand for a rough one or 25 to 30 for a clean one. If you can find it."

He smirks hearing her mention racing.

"Get you a little miata and stick a bigger 4 cylinder in it or do a rotary swap which is the kind of engine in the rx7. They are both mazda's but mazda's use inline 4 engines while the rx7 uses what is called a rotary. It doesn't have pistons like most cars do. I think you would love a miata too."

He smiles and points to the wall at the back with model cars on it.

"Top shelf near the right side."

Following where Tyler pointed, Ele hunted down the Miata and pulled it down. This one was silver, and even more sleek than the RX7. Bringing it over to Tyler, Ele held up the two cars for comparison,

"I like the color on the RX7 better than the Miata, but you're right... I like the Miata"

"Those are a dime a dozen, you are pushing it if you go over 5 grand for one. 2 to 3 grand is about the going rate."

He smile and gets beside her once again.

"I saw a drag race where somebody put a ls1 350 in one of these, completely stock engine and transmission. Car was running 10 seconds in a quarter mile. Some people try forever to get into the 10 second quarter miles. He did it with a 330 horsepower V8."

Giggling, Ele set the cars down and shook her head,

"I don't know how many times these words have come out of my mouth in the last three days but I will say them again,"

Looking up at Tyler, Ele playfully nudged him with her elbow,

"I have no idea what that means."

He chuckles.

"Alright, time for a crash course into engines. ls1 is an engine code. 5.7 liter is amount of air that is pumped in while running. 5.7 ls1 means it is a 350 cubic inch engine, though not all the liters are the same with an engine. Dodge has a 5.7 that is 360 cubic inches, ford has a 5.8 that is 351 cubic inches. It all depends on the company. But your typical family van makes about 200hp with a V6, the typical V8 these days start around 400hp. The miata, it comes stock with 120hp or so. Only weighs like a ton. So with the ls1 it makes nearly 3 times the power of a stock miata and you only add 150 to 200 pounds to the weight of the car."

Ele tried to focus, she really did, but the words coming out of Tyler's mouth made about as much sense to her as gibberish. Blinking her eyes a couple times in a blank stare, Ele shook her head,

"All of that, went just like... Nnneeuuummmm...."

Making a sound like a speeding engine going by, Ele raised her hand and passed it over her head.

"Right over my head. I swear I'm not an idiot, I'm actually quite intelligent, but all of that information was like a special code that I haven't given a guide for."

"Okay, simplified. Bigger engine means more power, usually."

He laughs.

"Just stick around me, I will teach you about engines."

"That I can understand."

Ele said with a nod,

"Got it, but I do have to say, I prefer the art and design lingo."

Checking the time, Ele looked at Tyler again,

"What time do you get off?"

"I close at 6."

He says with a smile.

"One thing you can get for the miata is this body kit that makes it look like a shelby cobra which is one of the most beautiful cars ever built."

"That is a matter of opinion, sir."

Ele said teasingly. There was still about two hours left of Tyler's shift, and Ele knew there were a couple stores in the mall that had some things she needed,

"Would it be okay if I went and got some shopping done and found you at closing?"

She didn't know why she was asking, Ele didn't need Tyler's permission, but it felt important to her to let him know where she was.

"Absolutely not, you cannot leave even for 1 second."

He smirks at her.

Raising a challenging eyebrow, Ele crossed her arms and took a couple steps backwards,

"Oh yeah, big guy?"

She smiled and put her hands on her hips,

"Who's gonna make me stay? You?"

"I could always pick you up and tickle you until you pass out from giggling or just give up."

He chuckles.

"Have fun though. I close earlier than most other shops so, you could still hang out around here for a while."

Ele stuck her tongue out at Tyler then waved over her shoulder as she turned and walked towards the mall,

"I'll see you in a couple hours!"
