[IC] City Comes to the Country (Tyler Night and Whitelily)

Watching Tyler, Ele raised an eyebrow at the mention of it being a stick,

"Is that a bad thing? For you I mean, it is for me since I don't know how to drive stick, but you can drive anything."

[Tyler Night]

"I actually prefer stick. Tons of fun when racing though it is a lot harder to drag race with a stick shift. If you are good at it you can usually get better times with stick than auto."

He nods finishing the look over of the car.

"I think I will offer him 2 grand for it, that frame is a lot more damaged than just being tweaked."

He walks over to the dealer.

"Alright, I definitely want it, but I checked on the frame and it is cracked through. I can do 2 grand today, cash money."

"2 grand?"

He thinks about it.

"You think you could save the frame or is it too far gone?"

"I think the only way to fix it would be to back half it. That would be a process though."

"Alright, I think I can do 2 grand. Let's go do the paperwork."

Tyler looks at Ele.

"Go ahead and wait in the truck if you want. I will be probably 20 or 30 minutes."

He starts heading inside the office to do the paperwork.

Ele looked back and forth between the truck and Tyler going into the office. The truck offered relative safety, locked doors and hiding in the backseat, but Ele didn't want to hide. She was tired of hiding. Taking a breath, she hurried to catch up with Tyler, slipping her hand into his as they went into the dealership.

Be brave, dammit.

Thinking to herself, Ele stuck close to Tyler and when they sat across from the dealer in his office, Ele swallowed hard.

No one is keeping you here, you're safe. You can leave at any time.

[Tyler Night]

Tyler walks in with Ele and over to a desk. He sits down and starts signing all of the paper work, taking some time to get everything taken care of. He finishes the signing and smiles.

"Let's get that car loaded up."

He says standing up. The dealer stands up as well and walks out with them. Tyler starts getting the straps ready and the ramps put down for the car. The dealer drives it up on the trailer and helps get it strapped down. They get it strapped down and the ramps secured, Tyler and the dealer shake hands then go their separate ways.

"You ready to go babe?"

Ele watched them load the car from a distance, then when Tyler asked if she was ready to go she nodded enthusiastically,

"Heck yes!"

Bolting for the passenger side, Ele opened the door and waited for Tyler to help her up. When she was inside, Ele buckled in and smiled at Tyler,

"Sorry that was weird of me."

[Tyler Night]

"Take some getting used to."

He says, climbing up inside and taking off.

"This will be fun. Now time to travel about 2 hours the opposite direction."

He smiles over at her and heads back the way they came from.

The two hour drive back made Ele sleepy, so she had curled up in her seat and laid her head on the center console with her arm as a pillow. When they arrived back at Tyler's house, Ele woke as the truck slowed. Sitting up, she stretched and tried to work out the kinks in her neck.

Slowly he rolls up to the garage, swinging out with it to back up. He begins backing the trailer up to the door, stopping short to be able to unload the rx8.

"This is gonna be fun."

He hops out of the truck and walks around to her side. He looks up at her and holds his arms out for her to drop into them.

Ele couldn't help but giggle when Tyler held out his arms to her. It was like she was a little kid. Putting her hands on Tyler's shoulders and dropped into Tyler's arm. Planting a kiss on Tyler's cheek, Ele smiled as she slid to the ground and went to the trailer.

[Tyler Night]

Tyler joins her at the trailer and starts unstrapping the car. After removing the straps he lowers the ramps and rolls the car into the garage. He gets the socket set out and begins disassembling the car.

"This will probably be an all day job."

He says to Ele, popping the hood and first removing it then the fenders and front clip.

"What should I do?"

Ele asked, standing with her hands in her pockets. Looking at Tyler taking apart the car, she figured she could probably do that. Or at least be helpful in fitting into the smaller spaces and underneath.

[Tyler Night]

"You can take unhook the battery and the cables from it, get the engine ready to be swapped."

He hands her a half inch socket. He gets the fenders and front bumper removed, setting them all to the side.

Taking the socket, Ele went to the battery and leaned over the car, getting to work. It was pretty self-explanatory, disconnecting the battery and the cables, plus Ele had replaced a car battery a couple times before. It didn't take very long, and soon Ele was lifting the small box out of the car and setting it to the side.

[Tyler Night]

He starts removing pieces of plastic from the engine followed by hoses and wires. He makes sure to mark the wires and parts to get them categorized. Eventually the engine is ready to be pulled out. He steps inside the engine compartment, having removed the entire front end and wraps his arms around it, lifting it up. He walks it over to a stand and puts it down.

"Good thing these engines are so light."

One thing that Ele knew for certain about engines was that they were heavy. More than once she had seen an engine being lifted out of a car by chains and a machine, but never just by the sheer strength of a man. Mouth dropping open, Ele stared at Tyler,

"Light? Pillows are light, kittens are light... That was an engine that you just lifted!"

[Tyler Night]

"This engine is only about 225 pounds maybe 250. For an engine, that is light."

He chuckles.

"That is why I decided to go with a rotary."

He looks at the car sitting there and nods.

"I think next thing we need to do is get the miata in here to do the swap."

"More pushing?"

Ele asked, raising an eyebrow and looking in the direction of the Miata.

[Tyler Night]

"I am thinking so."

He says walking out and moving the truck and trailer then starts heading for the miata. He starts pushing the miata from the drivers door so he can steer it.

hurrying to the back of the car, Ele put her hands on the trunk and started pushing as well, and the two of them were able to get the Miata over to the garage more quickly.

They enter the garage with ease. Tyler smiles and blocks the tires as they get inside.

"Lets take a break, we are gonna be getting heavy into it soon."
