Kelin looked to Stephen, who shook his head.
"You go," said Stephen. "No one would realise it was me and it would take too long to explain. Go. Lady Alexxandra was taken to the palace. The guards said so."
With that, Stephen followed the doctor.
"I will be with him," he said through his visor. "I know him well and his daughter is being sent for."
Stephen refused to move from his side and no one dared to forcibly try. A guard in the Imperial Army might not be much, but Kelin the General was a scary prospect indeed.
Kelin was gone in a whirl. As an elf, he could run musch quicker than a horse, flying to the castle with great speed. He slowed only when he saw the king, who was in the entrance hall.
"Your majesty," said Kelin, not forgetting his manner and bowing low to the man.
"Kelin?" the king said in some surprise. "What are you doing here?"
Kelin explain in the least amount of words he could. In turn, the king explained the state of Alessandra.
"Your highness," Kelin said, "I understand, however she would want surely, to be with her father. A coach could be arranged to transport her. The doctor seemed highly concerned."
The king went to the room where Alessandra currently rested, whilst Kelin went to arrange a coach. He spoke to his wife who shook her head emphatically.
"She is to rest. She is in no fit state to go,"
"Her father is seriously hurt," the king said. "If she awakes and finds she was not able to be with him, she will be in all the greater distress."
The Queen seemed adament that she wasn't going anywhere, but it was Avril who sided with her father.
"She will never forgive any of us if he died and we kept her here,"
"Then bring him to her," the Queen said.
"Enough," said the King and both of the women fell silent. It was rare the king put his foot down, but when it did, he was obeyed. "Edward, put her in the coach and go with her. Avril, you accompany her. Try smelling salts , lightly mind, to see if that rouses her. The Queen and i will remain here. Send word as soon as you can. Kelin will be waiting for you."
The Queen sat on the bed with her face in her hands as Edward lifted Alexxandra as easily as a doll. He got into the carriage with her, gently cradling her and holding her against himself. Avril tried the smelling salts, just wafting them carefully, praying her friend would awaken.
The carriage was moving fast, but no too much so that carriage would not bounce and crash.
