Bio/Personality: A well known Brerratic general who rose to power through her many military achievements. She’s a very powerful and intelligent woman that the king holds great respect for as she runs a section of his military. Despite her older age, she’s full of energy and a bit unpredictable as she has a large sense of humor and a strange set of morals. She’s very good at planning and strategizing but does have an impulsive streak. If her heart and head are at odds, she’s more likely to ditch both and do what her gut tells her. She’s also not very concerned about the inner conflicts of her kingdom and isn’t one to waste time with chasing after criminals. Instead, Mia likes to focus on outside threats, even deeming that they’re the thing that brings people closer than anything else.

Upon receiving word that they would be going to war, Mia was soon informed that she’d be leading a battalion to war on the Younis border. She was quick to enlist Penelope as part of her army, offering her a higher position as one of her lieutenants.

Bio/Personality: As the king’s viceroy, he held the most prestigious position in the castle, second to being an honorary member of the royal family. He claimed the job at the early age of nineteen by his silver tongue and charisma, making him the youngest ambassador in Brerra’s history. Despite his already impressive achievements, he was an ambitious man who would not not settle for anything less than the most powerful position in the kingdom. Knowing the previous king’s wife was barren and would give him no heirs, Albin plotted to secure the throne for himself when the man died so he could become the next ruler of Brerra. During the winter season of the war, he secured his place.

Age: 40

Extra: Albin’s trophy wife. They were married one year after his fling with Crow’s mother. She is a vain and prideful woman who pulls the strings to make sure her three children are given the best lots in life, and she’s willing to go to any means necessary to guarantee their success.

Age: 21

Bio/Personality: As the oldest son of Albin and Goldwine, Braden is being groomed to become the next king of Brerra. He’s strong-willed and proud, expecting to have everything he wants in life. Though he is not officially a knight, he serves as a daytime guard in the inner citadel of the kingdom and has built a small network among some of the barons and baronesses. Like his father, he knows the value of having connections in high places and he often uses them for favors, most often to get out of trouble if he’s had too much to drink.

Naida Mannering
Brerratic Knight - Princess

Age: 20

Bio/Personality: Of all the Mannering children, Naida is the most hard headed. She inherited her father’s pride and ambition, but both qualities are driven by a rebellious streak that often gets her into trouble. She wants nothing to do with noble life, as she sees most of the traditions and rituals as a waste of time. This is why she became a knight: to forsake the duties of a noblewoman in the stead of fighting for glory. Overall, it’s a world much more suited for her wild antics and free spirit.

Bio/Personality: Willow is the tamest of the Mannering siblings. She is quiet and reserved, keeping her opinions to herself unless otherwise asked. Because of her beauty and meekness, she already has a number of dukes and lords lined up to court her. She has no interest in seeing a suitor, but has agreed to do so because her mother wants her to marry into another family with power in Brerra in order to merge the two families together.

Persona: A bit of a wild card, Alistair is Simon’s opposite. He loves risk and adventure in all its glory and is quite successful in pulling off dangerous heists. However, his downfall is his lure to women. He is extremely flirtatious and gets distracted easily by a pretty face. Secretly a romantic, he hopes to one day find someone of his own to settle down with.

Age: 23

Persona: Perhaps the wildest of the thieves, she brandishes her trophies by wearing them publicly. Her vanity causes some problems for her companions because of the attention she draws to herself. She also becomes a partner in crime to Crow, even going so far as to take on the name Raven. They get along well and have a ‘friends with benefits’ type of relationship.

Persona: Well known around the outer villages for her successful tavern, she is a business-focused woman. She is also lesser known as the Mother of Thieves due to her reputation for harboring criminals from the knights of the outer villages. She has a strict personality with a biting sense of humor than can catch some by surprise if they don’t already know her.

Edward Vermillion

Bio/Personality : Edward is the head of the Vermillion household/manor and is John’s younger brother, which makes him Penelope’s uncle. He despises Penelope due to where she came from but his hate is often kept at bay due to his care for his brother. He has only one child of his own, a daughter named Lucy. With no sons of his own and his wife no longer able to bear children, he’s grown to favor Layth. He believes the future of the Vermillion’s will be safe in the hands of his nephew.

Bio/Personality : A rebellious and bratty young noblewoman. She’s the daughter of Edward Vermillion and has had a very sheltered life. It’s made her rather troublesome as she does various things to both piss off her father and gain a sense of independence that her life is often lacking. Lucy holds a deep rooted jealousy of Penelope’s life that has manifested into more of a hatred for her cousin over the years. In her eyes, Penelope has so much freedom that she doesn’t deserve. She was glad to hear John was forcing Penelope into a courtship and often taunted the female knight about her becoming a housewife.

Despite her hatred, Lucy actually spent a lot of time learning how to fight from Penelope. Though not directly, she would often spy on the female knight when she trained and managed to pick up a few tricks along the way. Right before the war begun, Lucy’s father announced that she would begin courting a man. Lucy, not liking losing the last bit of her freedom, stowed away in one of the supply carts and snuck off to the battlefront, determined to escape and prove herself to be a useful knight.

John Vermillion
Age : 52

Still similar to how he has always been, John is a serious man who shows little emotion and keeps a wall built between him and his children. He and Penelope are currently on rocky terms despite the fact that they both care about each other. He finds how she now behaves to be reckless and quite troublesome and insisted on her stepping down from her position as a knight. However, Mia wouldn't allow for it so he instead settled for forcing her into a marriage. It's put a lot of strain on their relationship causing for more distance to grow.

Currently John is working as a castle guard under the new king with plans to eventually join the battlefront.


Layth Vermillion
Age : 32

Brerratic Lieutenant

Determined to make a bigger name for himself than his sister, Layth rose to a position of similar power though only with the support of his uncle. He is on bad terms with Mia, as she doesn't trust his judgement. He continues to be the same as before, though now that he is working alongside Penelope he tends to try and undermine her in order to make himself look better.

A competent knight with a flirtatious and drama loving nature. She isn't one to follow tradition and enjoys having her own sense of independence even if it causes for some to think less of her. Olivia has grown to be a trusted friend of Penelope and turns out to be a rather loyal friend, though her desire to stir trouble does occasionally cause some difficulties.

Bio : A skilled archer who admires Penelope for her accomplishments at such a young age. Is a strict stickler for the law and occasionally clashes with the wily Mia. She also tries to fit in with Penelope, Olivia and Naida but it often doesn't work due to her differing views. Especially since she thinks Olivia and Naida are bad influences on Penelope.

Despite her usually corrupt motives, she takes her job very seriously and is a diligent worker. Jane tends to be overly cautious so she tends to be very organized and always carefully planning for things that might go wrong.

Leader of the Rogue Thieves

Bio: Ruthless and driven by greed, Jaxon leads a large group of fifteen Brerratic thieves near the inner kingdom of Brerra who loot and pillage nobles to hoard their wealth for themselves. He leads them in a laid-back manner with few rules but isn’t afraid to punish anyone harshly if they should cross him personally. Additionally, if anyone ever poses a threat to him or his band of followers, he will kill them without hesitation, since he believes this is the only way to keep from being captured by knights.

In regard to the war, Jaxon cared little about what was happening on the frontlines. That is, until he encountered a Younisian spy who propositioned him and his thieves to work for their side for a handsome pay. Finding their offer appealing, he agreed to sabotage the Brerratic forces so the Younisians could make a comeback in the next battle.

Bio : He's the oldest of the Hyde siblings and is the most distant from his family. Merek ended up settling for an apprenticeship with a well-known artillator and quickly picked up the trade. He's a bit lazy but has earned his title as a master craftsman of bows, arrows and the like. He's made it clear he has little ambition and usually keeps to himself and his work.

Bio : The oldest girl of the Hyde siblings. Dimia is a noblewoman who is married to a wealthy vassal named Oliver. As the only one of her family to successfully rise in rank, Dimia is very proud of herself and is a bit conceited. She frowns upon anything less that what she deems perfect and is a bit protective of her family. She disapproved of her parents and Gavin choosing Penelope, thinking less of the noble with peasant blood. Needless to say, her and Gavin don't get along well.

Bio: A rambunctious young teen who still has no idea what to do with his life. He tends to give his siblings and family a difficult time. He tends to act out in order to get attention but it usually causes for him to get into trouble.

Bio : Penelope first flame and heart break. Cedric is a charming individual who's quite skilled at manipulating. He was interested in getting closer to the Vermillion's for their wealth and power but soon found out Penelope didn't have access to either of those due to her uncle's hatred of her. Cedric was quick to toss her aside since she had neither of the things he needed. Since then, he's heard of her rising in rank and making a bit of a name for herself. Interested in using that to his advantage, he has hopes to get back on her good side.

Beatrix 'Bee' Exner
Brerratic Noblewoman

Age : 22

Bio : Beatrix was one of Penelope's closest childhood friend. Since her family were rather low ranking nobles, they were quick to let their daughter play with Penelope, hoping that friendship would be helpful to them in the future. Unfortunately, plans backfired. When John made it clear he was going to train Penelope to be a knight, Bee's parents completely disapproved as they worried their daughter would pick up similar interests as her friend instead of being focused on marrying a powerful husband. The two were quickly separated around the age of 14 and haven't seen each other since.

Once a lively and bold child, Beatrix is far from who she wishes to be. Feeling forced to follow standards and trapped with a controlling and abusive husband, Bee is a quiet and polite girl who rarely speaks up for herself. She has a rather pessimistic outlook on life and usually keeps her feelings and thoughts bottled away.

Bio : An older servant that has served the Vermillion family for many years. She was the closest thing Penelope had to a mother growing up and that isn't saying much since John often got in the way of them growing too close to each other. He worried that his brother would see it as an excuse to make Penelope a servant. Despite his interference though, Letitia and Penelope still developed a bit of a bond and are always glad to see each other when they get the chance.

Letitia is a warm-hearted woman who's known for being a bit mischievous as well as fun-loving. She makes the most of what she's been given in life and has served the Vermillions as a loyal servant. Though, she had always had a soft spot for Penelope and John, as she watched Penelope grow up and both of them are kinder than the rest of their family.

Age : 42

Bio : Wife of Edward Vermillion and mother of Lucy. She is a graceful and elegant noblewoman who is highly involved in her appearance. She oversees the manor while her husband is away and is quite clever. Krea holds a strong dislike of Penelope just like her husband and still views her as a disgrace to their family despite the progress she has made as a knight.

Krea is also a large gossiper. She loves keeping in touch with the latest rumors and stories, usually doing so by going to lavish parties and spending time with the wives of other barons.

Bio : The husband of Beatrix and a wealthy knight. He's an ambitious man who enjoys power, which he usually abuses when he does get it. Francis acts polite and calm, usually hiding his ulterior motives and more aggressive nature from the outside world. Instead, he takes out most of his hidden frustrations out on his wife, whom he's rather controlling of.

Bio : The husband of Dimia Lenz. He's a kind and timid man who often doesn't speak out much. He was taken by Dimia's beauty and she by his money, making them a less than perfect pair. Oliver is actually quite brilliant, being sharp when it comes to handling money and had a little bit of knowledge about everything as he usually spends his free time with his nose in a book while his wife is off at balls with her lavish gowns.

Bio: As a long-time friend of Albin, Udolf has been personally tutoring all of the Mannering children for the last twenty years. He has a strict, no-nonsense attitude and takes his job very seriously, seeing their progression of knowledge as a point of pride in himself. Among all the Mannerings, Braden is his favorite student because of his drive and ambition to prepare himself for the throne.


Preston Bossard

Manservant to the Brerratic Viceroy

Bio: Originally from Myrefall, Preston came to the castle when he was fourteen looking to make a livable wage to support himself and his younger sister after their parents passed of the Creeping Death. The previous king of Brerra put him to work as a serf, assigning him to do menial tasks like cleaning and cooking in exchange for housing for both siblings in the servants’ quarters of the castle. However, his chance to do better for himself came when a new viceroy was named by King Mannering. Knowing the new ambassador would need a personal attendant, Preston was quick to volunteer his services, thus earning himself and his sister a better room in the castle along with the other benefits that come from serving a high-ranking noble.

Bio: The Druel family has been serving the Mannerings for generations. Hunter was assigned to be Albin’s manservant when he was just thirteen years old and has been working solely for him for the last fifteen years. Though he has earned plenty of perks by serving the viceroy (now king), he dislikes his job and is continuously mistreated by Albin over any small mistakes he makes. Thus, he is cautious to perform all of his work to the best of his ability out of fear of being reprimanded.

Bio: Eldon had been the head physician of the Brerratic castle for the last twenty years. He has treated the previous and current royal family, as well as any other nobles that either lived or visited the castle in need of healing. He is extremely skilled in his work and takes pride in the curing the ailments of his patients, no matter who they are.

Bio: Captivated by the simpler things in life, Felicia is a kind and down-to-earth woman who shares in her father’s care for the people of Younis. She can be a bit vain, with a strict morning routine in which she is attended by multiple servants, but she doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty on occasion, especially when engaging in things she loves, such as horseback riding or archery. She also has an affinity for birds and has always been fascinated by the way they fly, feeling a bit envious of the freedom they have when they’re so high above the ground.

Bio : Son of a man on a path for more power, Alden is just another tool at his father's disposal. However with no clear goals of his own, a competitive nature and seeking his father's approval, he works hard to achieve the power his father so desires for him to have. He's rather crude and a bit brash, liking to assert himself above those with lesser power. He tends to hang around Braden, more so to gain favor than anything else though he does enjoy drinking and gambling with the prince. Despite his rougher side, he's got a passion for music that he usually hides out of fear of criticism.

Bio: Head of the Fischbach family, he aims to bring power and prestige to both his family name as well as himself. With little care for anything other than politics, he tends to act carelessly when it comes to practically anything else. Though sometimes a bit foolish, he did manage to gain some trust from the new king by being a very vocal supporter of his rise to power, knowing that it would free up the position of viceroy. Ambitious, upset and a bit desperate, he's determined to get Crow out of the title and his son into it.

Bio: Having never left the walls of the inner kingdom, Wayne knows nothing but wealth and prestige. Though his family does not hold the highest of titles among the nobles in the castle, he has dreams of advancing even further and will not rest until he sees them come true. He can be manipulative, but he is not very cunning. His schemes often fall through, landing him in trouble with the higher-ranking nobles he has attempted to use and hurting his reputation amongst them.

Bio: Though he is a noble, Robyn has had a very middle-class childhood. His family is at the bottom of the food chain in the inner kingdom and has been unable to advance on their own. Because of their reputation, they can’t marry off their children to higher-ranking noblemen and women, and they do not have any specialized skills that would allow them to move up in the kingdom without help. However, their luck changed when a scholar from the castle decided to take Robyn on as an apprentice. He was sent to the castle to become the man’s ward and has been studying under his tutelage ever since.

Bio: As the son of a well-respected duke, Percival has been training since he was a boy to fight. He is extremely skilled in combat and has earned a reputation throughout the inner kingdom as one of the most talented members of the royal guard. He takes his job seriously and has a no-nonsense attitude when it comes to protecting his king, which can get on the nerves of some of his more lighthearted comrades. However, he is known to be dependable in battle and would give his life to protect others.

He was taken by Penelope's appearance when he first met her, however, after seeing her in action during the speech, Kane has become quite genuinely intrigued by her.
