I just had a cool idea for a lot farther along in the story. What if, after they come back from Younis, Crow and Penelope actually do end up going back to their regular lives (major time skip) and cross paths again two years later?

I remember that I had had an idea for a bigger plot twist, where there's a third kingdom that wants Brerra and Younis to go to war so they can swoop in and annex both kingdoms while they're weak.

Basically, I was thinking Crow either doesn't get the staff for some reason or Penelope gets ambushed by mercenaries from the unknown kingdom on her way back to the palace, and the staff is stolen from her, basically guaranteeing a war to happen.

So, two years later would put the scene right in the middle of the war. I was thinking Crow and Penelope would meet again because Penelope gets sent with a battalion of knights to fight Younis on the border where Crow lives.

Also, maybe at this point Penelope could have a nobleman (maybe another knight?) courting her for marriage, which would introduce a love triangle between them and Crow

I know it's a pretty big jump in the future, but I wanted to share it before I forget xD

Oh dang cx I’m game!

I’m leaning towards mercenaries attacking Penelope on the way back as I think it could be a bit interesting. I imagine Crow might even be under the impression that Penelope died during the ambush since their still going to war and he can’t exactly ask knights about what happened.

I’m thinking another knight who’s probably a bit like Crow if he was a knight xD

Okay! I was thinking he would assume she died too. He would be beyond excited to see her again, very much alive

That would be kind of funny, haha.
We could do that, or I also had the idea that Penelope's father arranged the marriage for her after she almost got killed by the mercenaries (maybe it's his way of trying to protect her), and the noble/knight is someone she doesn't like at first (like she gets a wrong first impression that he's arrogant or shallow), but slowly grows on her by the time she runs into Crow again.

I'm good either way though ^^

Oooo I like the idea of her father arranging it actually. Penelope and him probably won’t be on very good terms after that cx And yeah that works for me though. I could see him being a bit arrogant but also sharing some of her views on things so they could bond a bit over that before Crow comes back into the picture cx
