I will not say my age, but it is within a 10 year proximity of 21, and most likely on the lower side. I will admit: I have lied about my age, or at least omitted things. If a check says 18+, I generally do not adhere to said rule. Am I immature and just looking for smut/big boy RPs? No. I you saw my posts, I use grammar and err away from said smut, although I accept it. If something says 18+, is it a sin of any kind to ignore it, provided you act 18+?

Ay... This is a role playing site. You're not gambling or playing with the law. You think anyone was ever scared to play those online Nickelodeon games without their parents permission? We still stick to the thought that join requirement shouldn't be "18+" for RPs of a more "mature" nature. We think it should be the question "Do other people think you are mature?"

@Captain Jordan Not specifically the mind, although addiction has something to do with it. The adolescent body is not equipped due to the fact that it's immune systems and lungs are not well-formed enough to deal with it. I should like to mention: RP isn't addictive, and smut is also not particularly addictive.

Anyway, I think that's a fairly weak argument for not smoking cigars as a twelve-year-old, and an even weaker argument when attempting to apply it to roleplaying at twelve years old.

4-5 years ago I RP-d on another site, of course using forum format and all.
It was a fantasy/superhero like contemporary setting.
I have many good memories from that time and a number of good players. There was a particular new player who was decent with her characterisation and IIRCwon the best RP-er title in the site's unofficial awards on the same year.
She later told she was 13.
So yeah, I have no reason to think youths cannot join RPs.

But that doesn't give you an excuse to feature them in a game which is strictly 18+.
Whether it'd expose him/her to something inappropriate or not.
It's the rule and above that, all the other players are assured that everybody is an adult.

Just stay out of the 1x1 roleplays and you wont see anything that wouldnt be in a Rated 12 movies
