"Well...yes and no." Tarentek answered, pausing briefly to figure out how to word his response. "I know how to make a lot of different clothing items from scavenged materials or animal hides. I know how to make belts, pouches, even articles thick enough to provide some protection. I know how to make the things I might need in the field, and have done so before, but, I don't really know how to make the kind of clothes you would wear every day. I don't know how to weave cloth or anything like that. I just purchased my clothes from a tailor." He explained.

"It's strange how different we are when the things we have in common are so basic." Onyx mumbled as she finished another line. "There, that's the last one for now, the rest I'll have to do later when there's more time. All that's left to do is put the hood and ties on, and to finish the design."

"Well, we do come from different backgrounds, different roles. I am a soldier, a specialized one, but still a soldier. A lot of my skills revolve around those duties." Tarentek commented as he observed Onyx's process for making the garment.

Seeing Onyx work reminded Tarentek of the equipment he was missing, though in his case, it was armor instead of clothing. "Now that I think about it, I need to gather up materials whenever I can. I wouldn't choose to wear a robe going into a fight. I had a set of armor, made from a few layers of leather with metal plates attached on top, something light enough to move in, but tough enough to provide some protection. It wouldn't protect against bullets, but it could stop a blade, and sometimes arrows. Unfortunately, the attack on Amman was so sudden, I didn't have time to get into my armor. It will take forever for me to get enough materials to make another set like it."

"Perhaps you could get some armor in Tel Nof?" Onyx asked as she put the materials away. "You say it is military-based, so they must have some you could use. Or," Onyx cut out for a second, wondering if she should say her idea. "Or we could go to Amman to get your stuff for you." She was sure they could do it, if they were careful enough.

"Go to Amman? Well, I don't know about that." Tarentek responded, shifting slightly in his chair. It was an idea that brought up a lot of conflicting emotions in his mind, though the most prominent was fear. Having seen what their enemy could do, he was not keen on returning to a place occupied by them, at least not without an army. 'I mean, my armor should still be there. It was in our family home at the time of the attack, and not the barracks, but we really don't know what kind of a state the city is in by this point. They did annex the city, so they do likely intend to open it up to trade at some point, but installing a new government takes time. They might be rejecting travelers. As for getting the materials in Tel Nof, that is possible, but it will be expensive. The leather won't be that bad, but good enough quality metal is an expensive commodity. It has to be forged into the right shapes. If I scavenged the metal, then reshaped it myself, it would be doable, but I would need access to an actual forge."

"It wouldn't hurt to ask around would it? You could probably use a forge in Tel Nof if you ask nicely." Onyx started. "But then I don't really know. You make it seem like your race doesn't get along with each other very well sometimes depending on status and city. As for Amman, it was just a thought. Even if it is closed off to travelers, it could be easy for you to sneak in if you were careful enough."

"Maybe, but I don't see it as worth the risk, at least not just for the purpose of retrieving my belongings. Perhaps if I am tasked with going to the city for espionage, then I will be able to retrieve it, but it doesn't seem worth it otherwise. For now, making a new set is probably the better idea. Unfortunately, materials are still a problem. I don't really have anything I can trade; all I have is what I was carrying with me when you found me. Hunting for leather is a viable option, but I would need to have the time to spare in order to do it. I suspect we are going to be rather busy for the foreseeable future." Tarentek responded.

Shrugging his shoulders, Tarentek decided to let go of the idea for the moment. "I guess it isn't too much of a concern for now anyway. I'm not planning on going into heavy combat just yet, and my robes are in reasonably good condition. I might need to patch them up soon, as they did get kind of scuffed up when I was wandering the desert, but they should work well enough."
