Appearance:
Vaughn stands at five foot eleven. He's quite muscular and fit. He's not as tan as most because he limits his exposure to the sun and does a lot of his hunting at night. He has black eyes and hair (when he doesn't shave it off).
Clothing:
Name: Vaughn Davies
Age: 28
Nationality: American
Personality: Vaughn, surprisingly enough for all his macho attitude, is a nerd. He liked comics and anime before the world "Went To Hell In A Hand Basket". (Well, he still likes them but there is the understandable problem of never getting anything new) He is a pretty easy going guy. Never really worries about anything and doesn't really stress out. He enjoys a good time hanging out with friends. However if you do manage to make him angry he can hold a grudge that can put to shame any 'Mary-sue', Preppy, Valley girl.
Bio: Vaughn was the middle child. Or as his sisters called him: 'Last to be noticed'. Though whenever he did anything wrong his sisters were sure to tattle on him. His elder sister, Sarah, was three years older. His younger sister, Beth, was only one year behind. His mother was a single mother for most of Vaughn's younger years. She never spoke about his father. Vaughn learned early on that each of the children had a different father. Sarah was white, but had a Hispanic look to her. Beth, despite her mother being white, was completely black in appearance.
Despite his rather diverse background Vaughn's life was a happy one. His mother loved them and was able to provide for all of their needs, though not all of their wants. They never had high-end clothing or the newest toys. But they didn't need it. Vaughn cites his frugal mentality as stemming from his childhood. His friends used to tease him that he'd pinch a penny until it screamed. Or that he'd put Mr. Scrooge to shame.
Life was good until Beth got sick. Vaughn and Beth had remained far closer to each than to Sarah other even after they moved apart. After Beth got sick he moved her into his place so he could help take care of her. Even with medical care she passed away after a few months. It devastated Vaughn badly. So much so that it ended his long time relationship with Faith who wasn't graceful about it. Faith proclaimed he loved his sister more than her and took off. Vaughn still wonders about what would have happened with them if the end of the world hadn't come soon after.
Survival: When the Aliens came Vaughn at first couldn't believe what was happening. It wasn't until the nearest large town, about twenty minutes away, was attacked that it became real for him. Though in many ways it was too late. He couldn't get to his mother or his older sister, Sarah, because of the Husks. he ended up with a few of his friends hunkered down outside his rural town. The group put their zombie apocalypse skills to good use. Though they had no defenses except for running. Machetes and shot guns while good against humans, failed against the aliens and their tech.
After two months under siege their group was down to six people. Only three were from the original, including Vaughn. By the third month it was just Vaughn and two others. They had been forced deeper, way from the cities in an effort to remain unnoticed. When the Heroes arrived and ended the "war", Vaughn and his group didn't know about it until weeks after when people slowly started emerging once more.
Occupation: Vaughn was a mechanic. He mainly worked on Motorcycles. Though he did restore the occasional classic car. During the two years while his sister Beth was terminally ill he did pick up as many jobs as he could for extra income. Most were part-time.
Skills: Archery. Rudimentary Mechanical knowledge, frugality.
The Awakening: Vaughn's Awakening was quite 'normal' in the sense that more strange things really didn't happen to him. Mainly he felt the same sensation of being wet, though he describes it as drowning in frigid water. As for the period of unconsciousness, he can't say much happened. What stuck with him the most was when regain consciousness he felt relief as if he finally found something he had been searching for. Unlike other people he didn't feel much stronger or faster. But he noticed more than he ever did and in reverse, people seemed to notice him less.
Magic Affinity: Shadows. Basically he can blend in better.
