[OOC] Arena Chat Thread

They have until the cutoff date to finish them. Which, I think is the 21st, which would allow a week for character entries, but it's up to you when you want to make the cutoff.

I work in a rehabilitation center for teenagers with substance abuse, suicidal ideation, and psychological problems. I work night shift, so I usually just hang around with a laptop and write, or read on my Kindle. Used to work 3-11, but needed a shift switch to fit my other goals.

I'm naturally a bit of a night owl, so it's not far out of my norm. I've also worked it for months, so I've adapted to it.

That aside, I spend most of my time at work writing or reading, so that tends to pass the time pretty well. When I do have my off days of sleepiness, a bit of caffeine helps grease the wheels and get me through.

Anyone else play league of legends? That's a new conversation starter. Unless nobody plays it, then there's nothing to talk about.

Work usually keeps me awake, what with the constant nature of it. Then my feet hurting keeps me up for an hour afterward. The morning usually consists of waking up, and passing back out, especially if my girl calls and I lay back down and talk to her.

Also, no League of Legends for this guy.

Never played LoL, though I have played a moba once for a bit.

@All On that topic, if you had to insert a character from the arena into a MOBA. What character would you pick and what special ability would they have?

For example, if Tordor was in an ARENA moba, I think his special ability would be a aura that slows opponents and debuffs their armor while allies in the aura would get a DPS boost until it expires.

All MOBAs are, by definition, Arenas. It's in the name, Massive Online Battle Arena. But I'd probably put in someone like Mik.

I have several peeps that I main for various reasons.

So, I was on my way to work yesterday, and there was this older guy who was trying to cross the street just as I got to the bus stop. There were 15 people, at least, on both sides of the road. None had stepped up to help him across. Turns out, he had a bum leg. That's why he couldn't cross the road.

I assumed that he had a stroke in the past, so his leg just didn't work anymore.

I got him across the road and suddenly he starts to lose his balance and have difficulty even holding onto my arm. Well, it turns out that he didn't have a stroke in the past. He was ACTIVELY having a stroke as I helped him across the road.

When we got to the other side, a police officer on patrol saw me helping him across and stopped to give a hand. The officer noticed and dialed for an ambulance, because both of my hands were occupied holding him up I couldn't call. The ambulance arrived, and I tried to sprint to the bus.

Missed the bus.

But, I think that I might have accidentally saved that guy's life. Because if I hadn't shown up to help him across, the officer wouldn't have stopped and called an ambulance, and the people at the bus stop would have just sat there and watched him have a fucking stroke in the middle of the street.

Man, fuck people now-a-days.

I do have the terrifying mental image of your forcing someone having a stroke across the road though, do you not have the incessant stroke identification adverts over there in 'Merica? I'm fairly certain I could spot someone having a stroke a mile away at this point.
