I appreciate a decent backdrop to a fight, but I don't want it to influence the combat at more than a passive level.

There are some I would use more, but nor ones that are crazy for the sake of crazy. Like Tilted Tower, I think is a good "challenge" map, but in general the common forests and such are good.

Actually my favorite map was I think the map I fought job in Grassroots for third place. Story was the ship thing we were fighting on was crashing and.someone used their powers to manipulate sand to catch it and that sand turned to glass pillars that were everywhere. It was after my fight with the Skin Thief. I can probably find it.

I was wondering if there's enough active people to do a type of Order Ranking tourney/system? I don't know if this has been discussed yet, but I just wanted to get a general consensus about it.

Tag me in responses please. don't want to miss any.

@Altered Tundra It depends on what you mean. Currently, we are planning a ranking system based off points, where te more points you have the higher ranked you are. I've already sent Mahz more of less a lost of things we were hoping he could code in to help its te process, though we could simply do it ourselves.

I don't like the crazy stuff. I prefer simple battle grounds to spill blood. You guys can fight in those exotic places. I am old school, give me a good opponent and let the magic happen.

In more or less with Skally on that one.

Pft, you both like Eternal Battleground, admit it. :p

For the spaceship one, was it possible to fight in zero g as well? I have a battleground in mind where the artificial gravity can be turned off or even destroyed to eliminate it completely.

Any spaceship one, being the most likely to feature gravity related antics.

In GR I don't think so. We were usually carted off to different places to fight. Except twice in my case. One was in a simulated forest against @Green and the other was just outside the crashed ship on the glass pillars.

I'll submit my gravity based battlefield then once I get around to typing it up. Should be fun and unique.

As you wish.

Personally I don't think there should be much submitting, per se. As much as it just being posted and linked on the front page like the one from OldGuild.

Having to submit them sounds too much like they need to be reviewed first before they can be used.

I thought the battlefield thread has some approval thing going on.

I thank that's Dynamo's doing. Hahaha. I don't remember the Old Guild one having a approval thing. More or less a post and whoever was running it would link it. I can't remember who that was at the moment.

That's something of what I was meaning.

On another site I was on that, at the time, had a pretty thriving Roleplaying section(even the RPB section), there was this massive tournement held that was just simply called The Order Ranking Tournement. This would work by randomly pairing each person with another and there would be a randomly assigned judge of someone who was in the tournement. Depending on who would lose in which round, they would be assigned a number on the rankings list. Like, for example, the one who won the entire thing would be at #1 and the one would lose in the very first round would be set at whatever the last number on the list is. Like, probably would be 16 or 32 depending on how many people actually sign up for it. The way people would progress up the list(after the tourney is completed of course) is that they will post in the OOC thread and say that they're going to be challenging -enter person here- for -enter number here- and a judge will be assigned. From there, they will battle it out. If the person who set the challenge wins, he/she progresses up the list to whatever number the person they challenged had. Of course, the loser in this scenrio would be pushed down the list to the number that the challenger previously held.

So, I know that sounds a little complex and probably way too much to do, but I think, at least, it's something interesting to discuss as an alternative if Mahz doesn't get around to do the point ranking system.

Aside from the tournament that was one of the ideas we had. As far as challenging for ranks.

Our current plan is to move up or down via points.

Lol I approve damn near everything creatively, but I wount approve of a stage that is lacking in description or is too plain, because that defeats the idea of having a battlefield in the first place, you may as well just say: let fight in a large forest.

Remember the battlegrounds are entirely optional, but when you do choose to take one from the official thread It should be of a certain quality. But that's not to say you cant use non-approved battlefield for your own exhibition matches, Im just compiling a library of the sexiest ones, sue me.

EDIT: that being said I'm currently getting through that hyperlist link, got 5 done, will do the rest soon

Personally, I don't mind large forests, in just cases that's what a lot of battlegrounds will end up being. Maybe with one if two differences, or a slightly more descriptive telling if it. A large forest, a empty field, volcanic plains, so on.and so forth. I DO get what you're saying though, but I would limit it to essentially copies of each other.

cool. I'll see if @Heyseuss can sticky it for us. As well as this thread.

I don't need a battleground to make my fights enjoyable. Personally a bg should provide a degree of flavor text but not so intrusive it detracts from the fight. If you think a forest is boring you are not seeing the beauty of its simplicity.
