I'm sorry, but I don't think I can do this any longer. I just find the situation... extremely unrealistic, to the point that it breaks my suspense of disbelief.
It's basically as if a normal person walking down the street, if suddenly approached by a stranger, punched five times in the face, and then extended a hand in the name of friendship and mutual non-aggression, is supposed to just take it.
And if "playing it safe" is basically equalled to arrogance by most other rp'ers here, I'm really worried about how much idealism will go into this rp going forward. I can imagine two scenarios, both very bad: we'd either end up with a zombie apocalypse like mentality of not really treating NPC's like people and slaughtering them/forgiving their slaughter like it's nothing while holding PC life as sacrosanct, or end up with a total pacifist like mentality where conflict is never the answer, in which case us training to be mercenaries doesn't hold much ground to begin with.
So... sorry, but I'm out.
