I haven't seen HIMYM, but Viking yokel sounds about right. If you've ever seen Fargo, then you've got it.

If Jonas talks like this then I'm pretty sure he's not getting killed any time soon, just because it amuses me.

In Other News

I have the next section pretty much planned out. This stage of the RP is kind of exposition heavy, for both you guys, establishing characters to one another (and me), and for me, establishing the plot and settings. It's no great spoiler to say that after the airfield, you're going to be heading to the Manor itself. There will be an opportunity to talk to one another on the way in a nice swanky car, or, if you want to skip that part, I can skip straight to the next part, but it's something you guys need to decide.

Advantages of chatting in the car: chances for earlier character exposition, not having a whacking great slab of exposition from me to deal with in one go if we skip it

Advantages of not chatting in the car: the aforementioned unguided group conversation of doom, this is an RP about me killing you mystery and suspense, not chatting in a car, there's actually about as much to do in the car as there is now, getting to meet the Wolfs earlier

I've already written the next section, so I don't mind anyway. I really enjoyed writing for the Wolfs.

Oh my goodness, that video....

I wouldn't mind maybe the smallest bit of character exposition (names, etc) but I know there'll be time to do that later as well. So I'm fine with either doing the car bit or skipping, I'll let everyone else decide.

My introductory post is complete!
And it rivals yours for length, Bliss. ._.
I think west btw. Kirah. Prolly west. But nowhere in particular?
Good god I'm useless...I don't know what all your accents are in murrica, or the UK ;;
Also, I think we should all have a go at a little lobby chatter before the car...since I assume they're probably a lot more talkative there than in the car, watching Germany go by...
And haha, I can't speak German, silly Jig. :')
That's more my boyfriend's department. My French however is adequate.
So thaaat's why it's in Germany...pfft. Should have known, Jigjog. Should have known.
Waiting on Cops now.

Ready to get Jiggy with it.

Well if from California Hella and Hecka could be said. If from Oregon or north those things aren't said. Also in the case of SoCal up talk is a thing? (<me being a smart ass. Up talk is where you emphasis the end of a sentence so it sounds like a question but you do it for EVERYTHING)

Hah, that's awesome, though since he's a dude it'd probably sound more like this, only slightly less hilarious. It's a little funny talking to people who haven't really heard the accent that much. Around here pretty much everyone can pull a Minnesotan accent out of their back pockets. Regional accents interest me, not sure why. I have no idea what my accent would sound like, probably more Canadian than anything.

I'm for a little character interaction, but not so much that it stops the plot in its tracks of course.

1) I speak French and German (and Dutch). There'll probably be throwaway snippets of German in there, which I'll translate if I do. Mostly I expect it will be "X & Y say something in German". It's a good way of having plot stuff in there without spoiling anything (#cheating) like that, because you can't Google Translate it. Apart from anything else, I'm not confident that I can write according to the region. When I met some Bavarians, and I was like "Oh, you're German" they basically took it as an insult. Bavaria considers itself very separate.

2) Thou shalt only get Jiggy with it on Jig's terms

3) I only have so much waiting for Cops in me. If I don't hear back fairly shortly, we're just going to carry on without him.

4) You can try flirting with Félix, I guess. ;)

5) At this point, it's a combination of waiting to hear back from Cops, and waiting till you're done with this section before we progress. After this section, the journey to the manor really will be more of the same unguided interaction, so don't be scared of saying you do/n't want it if you'd rather/not skip it.

6) I had completely forgotten that I included the party popper, but very glad you guys picked up on it.

7) Genuinely debating whether Lederhosen are a thing. They won't be a big thing, though, because ew.

8) When we reach the Manor, because I am a busy bee, I'm going to upload room informations as the rooms become available to your characters. If you want to access a room that doesn't have information yet, PM me, and I will upload it specially so you can access that environment.

I wish I could speak German, considering that my Dad's side of the family is German. Embarrassingly, the only real encounters I've had with the language was with Dad constantly playing PDQ Bach's Blaues Gras when I was a kid. Us being both musicians and complete dorks, it's hilarious to us. I can only imagine how 'what in the fuck' it sounds to anyone who actually understands German. Or anyone who doesn't for that matter. :x

The stylisation and general batshittery of it makes it largely incomprehensible to me, I'm afraid. I can pick out bits that I'm like, "I do understand it, yet it's still nonsense" while the rest of it is "I can't".

Aw darn. Good thing for me there's translations out there. Side note: now incorporating 'bat shittery' into my everyday vocabulary

My opinion for progression: We skip the car ride, it will devolve into speed posting and I'm good on that. I'd rather just get to the plot.

If I had a German transcript, I wouldn't have a problem reading it. It's partly the fact it's sung in a particular way that's distracting, with an accent that I find difficult. For example, the singer pronounces 'ich' (I) as 'ish', when I pronounce it in a way that I can't spell phonetically in English because we just don't have that sound: I kinda stick my tongue against the roof of my mouth so it's just touching my top teeth and hiss (kinda like a cat hisses, but at the front of the mouth rather than the back). Little things like that cause me to misunderstand words and lose meaning.

The worst is my Dutch. I learned off a Fleming (a Dutch-speaking Belgian), whose accent is very clean, precise and clear. When I hear actual Dutch people speak, it sounds like they're gargling lighter fuel rather than saying actual words.

Motion Carried

Car ride will henceforth be skipped. I'll give Call until I'm sick of waiting to get back to us, and then let me know when you want to move on. Beware, the following Expo-post will have a huuuuuuge amount of expo in it.
