So, as you read the title you can probably tell what I have in mind,

Basically what I'm thinking about is a 2spooky4u RP, Except with Warhammer 40k, because Warhammer 40k makes everything AWESOME

DISCUSS!

What do you mean by "2spooky4u"? Spec Ops: The Line-esque plot? Haunted mansion-type thingy? Please 'splain a wee bit.

I was thinking of a Spec Ops: the line plot, except with less violence and more investigating. and more Cthulhu

We will be human, yes? Perhaps something akin to the Dark Heresy tabletop game?

I was thinking that you could play as any Major race (huemanz, Greater good Tau's, Bloodthirsty Orks, Cliche Eldar elves, Depressed Teen Dark Eldar) Save the Tyranids due to there RAWR KILL EVRYTHINGish behavior and the necrons due to plot reasons

I was thinking of a plotline that would involve A tiny squad of different races Attempting to put away there differences and join together in order to survive against a attack of Edritch horror Tyranids,

that and I'm obsessed with the Tau.

The only problem with a plot like this is... Well, it's hard to be afraid of Cthulhu when you are a 10 foot tall asskicking machine.

Anyway, I'd like to play an Inquisitor, if you'd let me.

@mattmanganon 1 I'm gonna add a few rules against people who RP as Fearless-warriors-who-don't-fear-anything-even-Cthulhu, Even 10 Foot tall Asskicking Machines Piss there pants in fear now and then

2 Sure you can play as a Inquisitor

the Cthulhu-esc evil-stuff will be so scary that Even the Orks will piss there pants

bring a change of underwear.

umm... Space Marines can't piss their pants. They are physically incapable. Their bodies metabolism is so insane that they don't produce any waste whatsoever. Every last bit of energy and nutrients is absorbed into the body and used.

@mattmanganon That doesn't change the fact that the Marines are still and ultimately human, even if they're superhuman. They have personalities and a mind. Personalities that are super strong as well, yes, but even Marines can feel fear. That's what makes them fight all the more harder.

I'd love to play an Imperial Guardsman. See this regular hume amongst Marines, greenskins and other assorted xenos filth, and he's like the only one massively freaking out at what's going on unlike everyone else. XD

1 everyone is gunna be a human for now on, praise the emperah,

Also I'm gonna be a harsh Drill Sergeant Commissar who has a bad habit of whipping people and riding tanks while attempting to slice people in half with swords

okay I gathered up a idea for a RP like this,

A Mining Outpost on a freezing cold planet has gone dark, Imperial guardsman and a Other People (inqusitors) are sent to investigate whatever happened there, and stuff is found at the outpost and the pants pissing intestines

Well, I'd say more like an Inquisitor should already be on site at the outpost because things that happen because of the Warp are usually things people would notice. Once he confirms presence of Warp-based phenomenae he'd probably send a holo back to command, wherein they'd dispatch a proper Inquisition team to investigate and quell the problems.

Meanwhile it'd be left to the Imperial Guardsmen on the outpost staff to handle the problem until the proper Marines arrive. I don't think a commissar would be a sight you'd see on a mining outpost on a wintery fringe world. Yes, if it were a military outpost, but a mining colony would have, like, a barebones security team a la The Thing.

Also which of the Chaos gods will we be up against? Bloodthirsty Khorne? Disgusting Nurgle? Oh how about the beautiful Slaanesh? Or the devious Tzeentch?

And since this is a fringe world it must be pretty close to the Eye of Terror, a place no smart man would colonise. So there'd have to be a very strong motive for that particular colony to be that close to the Eye without having been consumed by the Warp.

Tzeentch or Slaanesh would be the best bet for Cthulian esch creatures but despite what GW would have us belive there is more than just the Chaos Gods out there like the C'tan since the Necrontyr did not get them all. As for a fringe world close to the Eye of Terror is not THAT crazy due to the fact that if you are close to the Eye you are also close to Cadia and could easily never see some Tactically Geniused BaneBlades and Warhound Titans pop up from that pebble right behind that Chaos Lord and his army Smoking crater.

I would like to join if I may. Love the Guard so wouldn't mind playing one of them, perhaps a Mordian Iron Guard Rough Rider or if there are to many Guardsmen right now I guess I could go Ork Freebooter since "Dey iz in it for da teef an da good fightin!" in short most likely to work with the group the most, that or a blood ax. My main team is DE and IG though so I could RP them better.

As a side note I am assuming we need to avoid teams that generally show no fear like Dark Angels or *My favorite* Death Korp of Krieg.

Oh yeah I forgot about the Wolves. *Annoyed grunt*

And yay we're attracting more 40K fans. I'm personally not an expert, just share the interest and whatnot so I'm delighted to roleplay with those better at this than me. XD

I'm a newb when it comes to Warhammer 40k, I just started Warhammering (lol) a couple weeks ago and my lore is pretty poop,

so to make sure no one RPs as a dude who knows no fear Lets not have any marines or spess wolves or generally anyone who would look at something scary and go. Meh. I seen something ten times worst

So. this is my idea

1 We're going to use Slaanesh @Razael
2 Instead of Imperials we're a batch of Inqusitors from all three of the Ordo Groups (Ordo Xenos, Ordo Malleus, Ordo Hereticus) but however, the group of Inqusitors are all Fresh-into-recruitment Acolytes which were sent to "prove there worth" instead of the more Experienced Throne Agents

this way it makes sense that there are inqusitors but also no one is a Dude who knows no fear

3 all of the People on the outpost are already dead Or Slaanesh cultists@DJAtomika

4 the Colony was put there because it was filled with enough resources to last the Imperium Millenniums, and Some secret weapons

So hears my Idea so far

A outpost on a freezing cold empty world but filled with Precious Minerals to last the Imperium Millenniums went dark and all communications were interrupted, a Batch of Inqusitor Acolytes were sent to find out what went wrong,

the Outpost was taken over by Slaanesh Cultists who were the former crew Captured all of the non-cultist crewmembers to use to summon Slaanesh,

So at this rate I think we're ready to start, any more questions or ideas?

I'm starting to regret being an ass in the comments. To be perfectly honest, I was kinda looking forward to their being Marines in this. Could have been fun. To make the argument for them, just because they know no fear, doesn't mean they can't be killed. Strictly speaking, Inquisitors are supposed to be able to look at the most fowl abominations that ever crawled out of Nurgles asshole and say "Meh, Imperial Archives say that there are worse things out there." Hell, a Commissar showing his fear is punishable by death.

Remember, Courage isn't having no fear, it's doing what needs to be done, regardless. There is no better example than Caiaphas Cain, who pretty much spent his entire military career wanting to curl up into the fetal position and order his men to fetch his mother, but, at the same time, was the most highly decorated war hero in the Officio Perfectus' history.

Long Story short: I think all of these people, even Space Marines, do have fear, they are just trained not to let it show.

Plus, I'm pretty sure that there are people wanting to play things that aren't Inquisition based.

Well there can still be Marines. An Inquisitorial force isn't, or hopefully shouldn't, be without some form of Astartes backup, right? Especially if its troubles from the Warp they're dealing with.

Mayhaps it isn't an entire chapter or a company, maybe a small section of men or even a small handful of, like, four or less. Inquisitors are strong, yes, but most are not as strong as the Astartes.

Either the Marines are player played or NPC, but whatever the case, these Marines are tough bitches that won't go down without a fight.
