The mountains were a treacherous place; freezing temperatures, high altitude, rock slides, sheer cliffs and wild animals to name a few of the dangers. The Blueteeth Mountain Range was one of the most dangerous tracks of land because it held all these things and one more. Rock Behemoths.
The monstrous creatures ranged anywhere from twelve feet in height to well over a hundred. A rudimentary but ruthless intellect combined with their territorial behavior made sure only the brave or foolish dared trespass on their lands. Still, the heart of a Rock Behemoth could be used by a skilled smith to forge incredible weapons and so there were always those willing to test their skill and bet their life.
This particular day the sun was high in the sky without a cloud in the sky. What would normally mean a warm day only meant that there was no cloud cover to hold in the sun’s heat this high above sea level where it was barely above freezing, and would surely get colder as the sun descended.
