"You could have chosen anywhere in the world, RyuKyu, and you went with a place full of bones! Must definitely be you dog half!" Kei'Taro spoke quietly to his spirit animal, as both him and the Ryukyuan pup walked towards the cemetary. The Lion-Dog had been tasked with the objective of finding a suitable place to bed down in for the night. For two weeks they managed to find decent places, but Kei was also the one picking.

RyuKyu lopped lazily ahead and perched atop a grave, but before he could begin digging up a femur or collarbone, he dematerialized at the whim of Kei. "No need of both of us staying here, and this may be the best punishment for you!" The laugh came easy and a happy bark sounded in his mind.

After a brief moment of looking around the area, Kei shrugged off his sleeping bag and let it land with a soft thud on the ground. He knelt beside it and retrieved the strange musical device he was asked to hold for a previous opponent. He hadn't been able to return it, as the man simply vanished off the face off the earth. He learned plenty about the device namely that it was a MP3 player. He thumbed the device leisurely before slipping it back in his bag and finding a piece of dried meat in his bag. Last week ended his hunt for the Elephant Bestial Key, and with it the poaching days of a group of rich yankees on a safari. Admittedly, they knew well how to perserve meat, a pleasure he aimed to enjoy the benefits of in the present.

With a sigh, he leaned back against the headstone of a Geoffery Geovanni, who by his headstone was a loving artist, and placed the strip of meat in his mouth and began to chew. Hopefully the next Key; the Key of the Scorpion would be found next and preferably not in a place where the dead resided.

Ragen could have attempted stealth but he wasn't very good at it so he decided to just approach the man he knew he would be fighting. He was aware the man was eastern in descent and so probably came with some code of honour, as Ragen did himself in the northen mountains. The man seemed to be talking to himself but it could have been some sort of prayer, Ragen didn't really care. He rubbed his hands together and leaned on a gravestone about 15 feet away from the man squinting his eyes in the relatively dim torchlight in the night sky.

Excuse me sir, my name is Ragen Meverall, are you the beast master? I've spent a while looking for you now.

Ragen tapped his staff against the grave that he was now standing next to and the jewel upon the top of it lit up, illuminating a wide space around the summoner with a pale purple glow. Ragen's eyes were beginning to glow too, a subtle blue behind his natural grey eyes. He put his hood up and slowly and casually walked a little closer still keeping over 10 feet between them.

Ive been sent to test you, which sadly in this context will probably result in great injury or death, but there is no way around it I'm afraid. These are Orders from the Arkashe Elders and I cant ignore them, lest they take away more powers, so nothing personal.

Ragen grabbed his staff with both hands and assumed his stance, he didn't move at all, just focused his eyes on his now very visible target.

I am trained in Ark-At style staff combat, I'm not a master but I am competent, whenever you are ready sir, we can engage.

The cold wind of the cemetery settled into a cool breeze as if it was in anticipation of the upcoming clash.

Kei'taro chewed and swallowed the dried meat, his senses picking up the approaching figure. As the man neared, Kei'taro noticed the staff he carried with him. "Did he send you, then?" Kei'taro asked, indicating his father, who had been sending people after him for weeks now. It only served to increase the ire Kei'taro had for the Spirit Beast King, Rosuto.

Raising his hand in a 'wait' gesture, he rose from his seat against the grave and motioned at their environment. "Go back to your order, tell them you defeated me, you tested me, and I failed." His right hand swam to his sword and gripped the hilt. The RyuKyuan spirit animal growled heavily in his mind, warning Kei'taro about the mysterious purple energy that surrounded the man.

Kei'taro slid back a step, and noted the aura that flowed around the man. He didn't know what the abilities of the man were, but the expending of aura this early meant that the man wouldn't be walking away anytime soon. Kei'taro, ever the survivalist, studied the distance between him and the man approaching. His would be opponent maintained a steady ten or so feet away from him. That mattered very little as Kusanagi could extend ten times that amount in a second.

As he slipped into a more battle ready state, he slid a step to his opponents left, and prepared for the worst.

'I blame you, RyuKyu, I blame you.'

Ragen was aware of his opponents stance, noticing as he prepared to use his weapon. The Summoner held his stance but started to inch closer closing the gap at a steady pace. He was prepared for any sort of angled attack. His palms gripped his Arkashe wood staff tightly, his breath calm and measured his glowing eyes darting up and down the Beast Master.

You don't think I already thought of that? The order see and hear everything including your life force and mine, they will know for certain that I didn't engage you if I turn around now. I'm sorry I have no choice in the matter.

Ragen picked up the pace slightly, getting about 5 feet away from the opponent before stopping in his tracks and waiting for the wild man's next move.

Do you know of Arkashe? and the summoners that are raised there? Most ordinary humans never get to see one of us in person, take some solace in the fact that you are very lucky, about to witness things youver never seen before.

Kei'taro's would be opponent had began to speak, but it was obvious to Kei'taro that the man would not be accepting his proposal. It was never that easy, they never just walked away. He supposed that he couldn't blame them, afterall, he couldn't walk away from a animal in distress. When the man took his first step, Kei'taro backed away by a matching step.

He withdrew Kusangai and held it in a reverse grip, a grip normally not allowing for the renowned ability of the blade - Shoot to Kill, which allowed the blade to extend a distance of two thousand feet per second, a range his opponent was abysmally in. His trained eyes watched the man, hoping that the bait would be taken. If there were to be a test, then the man would need to be a spry proctor.

Undoubtably the man had began to move again, the sign that Kei'taro would have to fight for his escape. With startlingly agility, before the man's second step, Kei'taro flipped Kusanagi in to proper position, as he hissed, "Shoot to Kill," the sword flipped into position and he grasped it, "Kusanagi." He was unsure of the man's physical capabilities, but he would be hard pressed to see the man avoiding the speedy sword extension aiming for center mass. This could be all over in the blink of an eye, and Kei'taro hoped it would be

Ragen's mind was aware of the magical abilites of the man he was facing, but due to a lack of research he knew he couldnt prepare properly for everything. So he tried to just stick to the basics and engage in staff combat. Sadly he would never even get to swing his staff.
The energy of the blade was literally a flash to him, tearing through the air in less that a second, Ragen had just enough time to begin to scream before the energy of the blade tore through his unprotected body and sliced him clean in half.

The Elders of Arkashe Mountain, were now satisfied.
