Bio: Not able to take the corrupt ways of the government any longer Blythe started a crew of strong men and woman and offered everyone in his village the chance to sail away to paradise. Only 43 of the 1,500 villagers agreed to go because the fear of dying from the hands of the dictator for traitorous acts overrided the captains charisma. After finding paradise the captain took charge into making sure everyone was happy. He's skilled with a sword and has decent physical strength.

Personality: A brave young lad who is up for anything. He acts tough even though he is only 5 feet tall. If you point out his size he will probably get angry at you. Although he acts tough his mannerisms are really cute.
Bio: Drake is the ships navigator. He helped the crew find paradise. He hated the dictator because he had bought his sister as a sex slave. He tried to get her back but he gave her away to someone on a different island when he was finished with her. Not wanting to live in the corrupt kingdom any longer he ran away with the pirates. He studied navigation at the age 13 because that was the day he decided he wanted to run away. He has a knife as a weapon but is a bit squeamish so he only uses it to cut things like ropes.

Personality: A just and fair queen who loves all merfolk. She rarely smiles and often just stares at people with a cold look.
Bio: She was once a slave to the humans but her kingdom does not know of this. That is what fuels her hatred for humans. She hasn't been queen for very long but she is doing an excellent job. once the pirates had stepped foot on her territory she declared war on them.

Personality: With mermen and mermaids he's a big cuddly teddy bare, with humans he's a viscous monster. He likes to play with humans and mess with them but if you somehow managed to get on his good side he might decide to go easy on you, but it's unlikely.
Bio: He's a knight under the queen of the merfolk. He's huge and has sharp teeth and will chomp up any humans who threaten the kingdom. When he's off duty he likes to play with merfolk. He serves as one of the biggest threats to the pirates.

Personality: Amphi is an easily startled, paranoid type of mermaid. She doesn't hate humans so much as she has nightmares about them, her only contact with humans being rumors of what some have done to other merfolk. Amphi can come off as childish, naive and tends to be spiteful and sarcastic when agitated. Amphi is also a glutton and will eat just about anything. She is gentle and rather submissive, and maybe just a bit socially awkward.
Bio: Amphi has always lived on this island and she has never thought to leave. She in fact has always loved the island and saw it as her sanctuary. She is often known to roam about it freely, tending to the fruit trees and other food sources. Amphi is rather impartial, seeing all merfolk as being equal. This also makes her not particularly close to anyone either. She would much rather spend her time on her own basking in the beauty of the island. Amphi has also always been a rather dainty mermaid, using this she also hides amongst the foliage to spy when shes curious.

Personality: Normally friendly and polite, but she's easily irritated and snaps/talks back a lot. She makes a lot of food that would be considered exotic (bushmeat, strange plants, insects, grubs) and hates it if anyone complains. In the event that there is a complaint...well, you're going to have to go out and forage, because she won't feed you unless she's forced to. When she is not cooking or directly planning meals, one can usually find her testing the plants on the island to determine whether they're poisonous. Finding natural salt deposits makes her practically swoon! Although she usually just gets it from distilling seawater. She likes cookbooks with strange recipes. Funny enough, her favorite food is fish (uh oh!). But she wouldn't be unfriendly to a mermaid; she might make a joke about calamari.

Bio: Luz grew up on the main continent, and she was a preteen when the dictator took over. Her mother, the only parent she had, after a year of this madness, told Luz of her plan: they would commit suicide together. Luz, too terrified to say no, agreed to the plan, but when it came to it she didn't have the courage to drink the poisoned water. Her mother, having already downed the whole glass, died slowly in front of her, so she just left.
She lived a few years on the street after that, carefully avoiding other people, and was very nearly recruited into sex trafficking at 16. Luckily, a few rebels picked a fight with the shady creep who'd found her sleeping under a bridge, and they got Luz out of there. Not wanting a useless new teenage crew member, they taught her multiple trades; the one she loved the most and was best at was cooking, and she's been getting better and better ever since.
She made sure to obtain plenty of books on nutrition, and steal a good number of citrus fruits, before setting sail with the Phoenix Pirates.

Personality: Outgoing and kind (a bit playfully mean) to friends. Cunning and ruthless to enemies. The kind of "thug" who would lay down his life for his friends but still know that playing hero is a stupid idea. He enjoys fighting, drinking, good company, women or a mix between any of the before mentioned.
Bio: Balon grew up in a well-off family. They were by no means rich, but they weren't struggling to survive either. His father was in the royal guard, and a master swordsman, so Balon always looked up to him and was taught many different ways of how to handle a sword over the years, until he himself joined the guard and took his father's place (who was now retired). His pride was however struck down when the dictator came to power. He refused to carry out the inhumane punishments ordered by the dictator upon the people, and left a desserter and branded a traitor. He joined the rebels and taught new recruits how to handle swords. During this time, he became more of a rogue than the royal guard that he used to be, but he kind of likes it.
Now, he has joined a crew as their weaponsmaster and "skilled fighter" as they like to call it, and set sail for a new land to call their own. A home. A paradise.

Personality: Sweet but snarky, Leo has a habit of making everything into a joke. She has her air headed moments and can be quite clumsy if shes not paying attention. She is a warrior though she is not taken very seriously by most, which drives her crazy. She refuses to show weakness, Leo doesn't event know if she knows how to be sad anymore, when her emotions seem to reach that point they shut down leaving her stoic. She has a cute complex a mile wide and will cut you if you dare mention her cherubic features. She is very loyal to the people she attaches herself to and loves them unconditionally. Her best friend is her darling spazzy Amphi.

Bio:Leo was orphaned at a young age, her original village was raided by humans. She was only five years old when it happened and she remembers very little about it. Though she does have flashes of memories; screaming, blood turning the water red, and hard unrelenting arms scooping her up and shoving her into a bag. She was put on a ship to be brought to the slave market, but that ship never made it to port. The ship was identified as a slave trader by the queens guard. ((Im improvising ill change this if you want)) A great Megadalon rescued her. Leo will never forget him gently tugging her from her bonds. He picked her up and cradled her, "I have a boy about your age." his deep voice rumbled as he brushed a tear from her cheek."Don't cry little fish. There's already enough salt in the ocean." That lopsided grin was something he passed down to his son. Leo hero worshiped that man and his family, forming a friendship with Dylan she went into guard academy with him, though she is not as naturally talented as Dylan she worked hard and eventually she was able to phase into the third form. But now that war is on her very door step Leo is having internal conflicts. She hates humans, but she cannot bring herself to kill them. Though she is not sure she will she have the luxury of choice for much longer...

Personality: Loud, rowdy, and generally dirty-mouthed, Gwen could be called well-known among the merfolk, due to the fact that every morning she goes round shouting, "Wake-it-up everyone! Come, it's morning!" Heh. Fact. You don't want to mess her up, because when her temper comes it is brutal.

Bio: Not a lot is known about Gwen. What is known, however, is that she came from a native island called Guajimara. People are learning that she is absolutely terrified of humans (from the capture), but it is unknown why.
