Shiranui soon got his party assembled and as he made his way to the stadium. At the stadium, there were a lot of media set up at various points to broadcast the battle around the world. "Welcome one and all to today's exhibition match between two trainers who have each defeated the Elite Four! In the red corner is a star of the silver screen. Here she is, our Champion Diantha!" came the commentary. Thunderous applause and cheers were heard as Diantha walked out to her spot on the battlefield. "In the green corner is a trainer that has won two Pokémon League tournaments including our own Kalos League! Here he is, the challenger Shiranui!" A lot of cheers were heard including those from Liam and his Goodra as Shiranui walked out with Yoto on his back. The big screen changed from live feeds of the trainers to their currently blank Pokémon line-ups.
"Diantha, Shiranui, this will be a full six-on-six single battle with no time limit," announced the ruling official, "Call out your opening battlers!"
"Go Hawlucha!"
"Yoto, en garde!" Diantha opened with her Hawlucha and Yoto unsheathed himself from Shiranui's back and floated to the field.

"Begin!" called the official, raising both flags.
"Hawlucha, Sky Drop!"
"Yoto, King's Shield!" Yoto used his shield to block and repel Hawlucha's attack. Hawlucha's Attack stat fell harshly from the recoil.
"Hawlucha, Sky Attack!"
"Yoto, Head Smash!" Hawlucha started glowing, charging its power for a Sky Attack. Yoto changed to his Blade Forme and shot out like an arrow at the wrestler. The Aegislash struck home and both battlers got damage from the hit, Hawlucha getting heavy damage and Yoto getting recoil damage.
"Yoto, King's Shield!" Changing back to his Shield Forme, Yoto was poised to block Hawlucha's attack again. Hawlucha struck the shield, but didn't suffer another loss to its Attack stat.
"Hawlucha, Roost!"
"Yoto, Shock Wave!" Hawlucha recovered some of the damage from the Head Smash before Yoto changed to his Blade Forme again and unleashed a wave of electricity. The hit was critical and Hawlucha was down for the count.
"Hawlucha is unable to battle, Aegislash wins!" ruled the official, holding his green flag up.
"Hawlucha, return; go Tyrantrum!"
"Yoto, return; Xeimei, I choose you!" Both trainers switched their Pokémon and in Shiranui's case, he switched to Xerneas

"Tyrantrum is unable to battle, Xerneas wins!"
"Tyrantrum, return; go Aurorus!"
"Xeimei, return; Yoto, en garde!" Both trainers switched again. Yoto unsheathed himself ready for another round.

"Yoto, Iron Head!" Yoto took the opportunity and after changing to his Blade Forme, shot out at Aurorus and delivered a slash that knocked the icy sauropod out in one hit.
"Aurorus is unable to battle, Aegislash wins!" ruled the official, "Since one trainer has lost three Pokémon, an intermission will be called."

After ten minutes have passed, the trainers returned to their spots on the battlefield and the battle was on again. "Go Gourgeist!" Diantha sent out an average-size Gourgeist and Shiranui scanned it.
"Gourgeist, the Pumpkin Pokémon. It enwraps its prey in its hairlike arms. It sings joyfully as it observes the suffering of its prey."
"Fushigi, I choose you!" Shiranui sent his Venusaur out.

"Begin!"
"Gourgeist, start with Trick-or-Treat!"
"Fushigi, Toxic!" Shiranui saw a bizarre sight as Gourgeist painted Fushigi's flower a lavender colour and hung various black baubles off the leaves, making Fushigi look like he had a deadly nightshade on his back. He heard from the commentary that his Venusaur now had Ghost as a third type. Playing along, Fushigi launched a gout of poison at Gourgeist that badly poisoned the ghost.
"Gourgeist, Phantom Force!"
"Fushigi, Substitute!" After Gourgeist phased out of view, Fushigi set up a decoy.
"Fushigi, Venoshock!" Gourgeist punched through and broke Fushigi's decoy and in response, Fushigi sprayed more toxins at Gourgeist, inundating the pumpkin-like ghost with toxic chemicals. The toxins reacted with the poison that Gourgeist was previously covered with and the corrosive reaction caused major damage. Gourgeist was looking worse for wear after the poison sapped more health away.
"Gourgeist, Pain Split!"
"Fushigi, Venoshock once more!" Gourgeist started singing joyfully as both battlers' HP were reduced and increased to their average amount. Fushigi sprayed more toxins and a foul-smelling reaction occurred, knocking Gourgeist out.
"Gourgeist is unable to battle, Venusaur wins!"
"Gourgeist, return; go Goodra!"
"Fushigi, return; Numeru, I choose you!" Both trainers switched to their respective Goodra.

"Goodra, Dragon Pulse!"
"Numeru, Outrage!" Diantha's Goodra fired a pulse of draconic energy and Numeru charged at Goodra, dodging the Dragon Pulse and striking her adversary for heavy damage.
"Goodra, Outrage right back!" Diantha's Goodra charged right back at Numeru. The two Goodra collided and an explosion issued forth, covering the field with dust. Everyone at the stadium waited with bated breath until the dust settled. Both Goodra were knocked out, in Numeru's case from a critical hit.
"Both Pokémon are unable to battle, this round is a draw!"
"Goodra, return; go Gardevoir!"
"Numeru, return; Yoto, en garde!" Both trainers switched their fallen Goodra and Diantha sent out her headliner while Shiranui's Aegislash unsheathed himself for a third round.

"Begin!"
"Yoto, Iron Head!" Shiranui was wondering why Diantha didn't make a call. All she did was activate a keystone on her necklace and give what was now her Mega Gardevoir a look. The Mega Gardevoir started flitting back and forth, forming several copies and Yoto—now in his Blade Forme—only made one of them vanish. Shiranui realised Yoto's opponent perceived non-verbal cues from her trainer. "Yoto, Aerial Ace!" Green shields appeared around the multiple Mega Gardevoir and Yoto was repelled off one of them. "Yoto, Shadow Claw!" Mega Gardevoir conjured an orb of shadow energy and threw it at Yoto. The Aegislash was hit and was looking worse for wear. Six shadowy blades sprouted from Yoto's body—making the Aegislash look like a seven-branched sword—before he shot out at Mega Gardevoir and struck the real one. "Now, Destiny Bond!" Another orb of shadow energy was thrown at Yoto and the Aegislash dodged it albeit barely. Yoto prepared himself to take Mega Gardevoir with him, but the Embrace Pokémon had none of it as she set up a Wish attack. "Iron Head!" Yoto shot out, but was repelled by another protection shield. The Wish triggered and Mega Gardevoir recovered some health. "Iron Head once more!" Mega Gardevoir threw another Shadow Ball and Yoto was hit and knocked out.
"Aegislash is unable to battle, Mega Gardevoir wins!" ruled the official, raising his red flag this time.
"Yoto, return; Xeimei, I choose you!" Shiranui recalled Yoto back into his Great Ball and sent Xeimei out.

"Begin!"
"Xeimei, Ingrain!" The Xerneas dug roots into the ground and because Shiranui gave it a Big Root to hold, the rate of recovery was dramatically increased. Mega Gardevoir used Grass Knot to knock Xeimei over for a lot of damage, most of which was recovered again. "Xeimei, Megahorn!" Xeimei charged at Mega Gardevoir with its head turned sideways and half its horns facing forwards. Mega Gardevoir fired a Moonblast and Xeimei got major damage, but pressed on with its attack. Mega Gardevoir felt Xeimei's horns and lost the health she recovered from her Wish. "Fire a Moonblast of your own!" Both battlers fired Moonblasts, but Mega Gardevoir's attack overpowered Xeimei's and the Xerneas got more damage. After Ingrain took effect again, Xeimei still had some damage. Mega Gardevoir set up another Wish. "Xeimei, use Flash Cannon!" The Xerneas' horns let off several flashes of bright light and Mega Gardevoir felt a critical hit knocking her out.
"Mega Gardevoir is unable to battle, the winner of this match is Shiranui Tsukiko!"
Cheers erupted from the stands as the screen changed to Shiranui's line-up with the word 'CONGRATULATIONS' in fancy cursive writing.
