Where the sun was shining, the shadow of a red-haired female could be seen underneath a tree with green and lush leaves. She was leaning against the tree itself, and her eyes were closed. Her arms were folded across her chest as if she was just relaxing for a bit. She took in a deep breath to which she exhaled a few seconds later, but slowly. She wanted to feel the calm and relaxing breeze as it would flow in and out of her body. Slowly, she would open her eyes, adjusting to the sunlight. Those green orbs looked around and she saw nothing but green meadows all around. She heard the wind make the leaves sway and she heard the water from the river off in the distance.

As she took in the scenery even more, the red-haired female remembered why she was even at this location. She remembered that she had been contacted by an anonymous source to partake in a fighting tournament where she was promised to get the fight of her life. Being the kind of woman that Alexis is, she couldn't pass this opportunity up. She couldn't miss the chance to fight some really strong opponents, especially if they were ones that could give her a run for her money. Just the thought of finding people stronger than her turned her on so much.

"Okay, let's get this shit on the road." She said as a smile came across her face. She pounded her fists and prepared for her opponent to arrive.

Grim and uptight, Vos entered the battleground, staying alert and starting to carefully take in his surroundings the second he arrived. His performance had to be perfect in every single detail, the fight being watched by his mentors: as a promising student, Vos was sent to this tournament to give his skill a final test, before he were assigned a higher rank - one with more privileges and better opportunities. If he built himself a good reputation now, passing the test with superb results, it would definitely help in the long run.

The island upon which he arrived looked fairly small, with a few patches of trees here and there, a river and some stone pillars in its center. Disappointed that it weren't a cityscape, in which he would fare somewhat better, Vos made sure there was no immediate danger, and upon doing so, began searching for whoever he was to fight. His opponent didn't seem to be hiding, so Vos spotted her fairly quickly. With a sigh of relief, the mageblade loosened up his posture and approached Alexis, drawing his sword with the right and plucking a dagger off his belt with the left hand. It seemed that he wouldn't have to deal with any sort of ambushes this round, which meant he could stay in control of the situation for now and avoid a sloppy start to their fight.

Stepping closer, he let a snide glint skip through his eyes as he took note of Alexis' light clothing, which made her whole body a target ripe for slashing. Vos himself had decided on something a bit more protective: a pair of thick denim jeans, sneakers and a leather coat worn over a grey hoodie. However, it probably wouldn't matter as much, his muscle being far tougher than that - and for what he knew, the woman could just as resilient. With a slight nod, Vos greeted her, and finding that there was no need for words, assumed his fighting stance, left foot leading, the dagger, in an icepick grip, brought up to the chest, and sword at hip level. With about 10 feet between them, he felt at ease.

With her stance of a boxer taken, Alexis looked at her opponent in front of her. He wore pretty lax clothing much like her, only more concealing than her tank and shorts. She noticed that he had some kind of sword in his hand and a dagger in the other. The distance that was put between them was roughly ten feet, perhaps a little more or less. She noticed the defensive poise he had and she smirked.

"Nice set up you got there," Alexis said, still smirking.

As she leaned forward, Alexis took off in a dash. Her speed was so incredible that she was able to cover the ten feet within one second. The momentum that followed allowed her to get in close to Vos. Using the initial momentum from her dash, Alexis took her fists and prepared for a series of jabs. Be it the weapons that Vos had in his hands or his body, he would feel the burning touch of fire as her hands had, in that moment, become engulfed in red and orange flame.

As Alexis dashed in, Vos payed close attention to her footwork. Seeing her assume a boxing stance, ready to use her fists as a means of throughly pummeling him, he expected her to compensate for the disadvantage in range with meticulous maneuvering and looked for the slightest shifts in direction her body would show.

However, Alexis continued onwards in a straight line and moved into punching range with a second step. There wasn't even a possibility of it being a feint - she had gained too much momentum to safely bait and pull back - so Vos predicted an attack instead and crouched, raising his left forearm over his head: Alexis had her torso leaning forwards and front leg only slightly bent, which meant she could only be throwing a high punch, from which he would now be protected. At the same time, he leaned forwards, and activating the Killer Ring spell, thrust his shortsword underneath her ribs.

The first jab thrown at him would be deflected by strike from his arm, only charring his leather coat, while the rest would be interrupted by Vos'stoorge's spell conjuring three more blades to bite into his opponent's flesh.

When she went in for the first punch, torso leaned forward, it was blocked by one of Vos' arms. In that same moment, Alexis felt the edge of his sword press against her ribcage. In the next moment, swords of energy were summoned and began to eat away at her skin. Alexis felt every little nibble. Each one rushed the pain throughout her body. Even though she had instinctively jumped away backwards, the tear that occurred from the many blades created a droplet trail of blood from where she was standing to her current position five feet back.

Alexis looked at Vos. Alexis flared up like the sun itself, her bare human body becoming consumed by the Flame Aura that she controlled so perfectly. The flames around her stuck to her person, and began to heal the cuts around her ribcage area. She could feel the skin being repaired. It, at first, was painful, but it was that kind of pain she could grow to love. The flames had a red-orange appearance and burned the ground beneath its master's feet.

Taking just one moment to allow the sounds around her to enter her body, Alexis closer her eyes for a few seconds and then she took to her attack, propelling her body above the ground and at Vos once more, but this time she knew better. She knew not to go without a plan. She took her left arm, holding it back just until she was right up in Vos' face. The power of the flame gathered around her entire left arm, and then she extended it, fire rushing from her fingers, and finding its home in Vos' face.

The swords poked through her skin, spouts of blood popping from the wounds inflicted - but just when Vos thought he'd be taking the lead and landing a solid strike with the Killer's Ring, Alexis slipped out of his bladed vise and dulled his hopes of quickly winning with a display of wicked speed. Vos left her the smallest fraction of a second to react, and when she escaped, it left him both surprised and mildly frustrated. Not that he wasn't expecting his opponent to be a challenge, but opting to reveal his trump card so early in the fight and having it fail right after was surely a vexing experience.

Despite those emotions prompting a hasty retreat, the mageblade decided against this course of action and went on to redeem himself, trying to capitalize on Alexis' recklessness for a second time. The Killer's Ring gave him one advantage, and he'd be a fool to waste it: the girl was now airborne, robbed of her mobility and thus, vulnerable. Vos sprung up into the air, cocking his right leg into position for a kick, and then thrust his foot into the girls abdomen, which would make her pivot around her center of mass and land face-first into the ground.

Her attack didn't even hit him. Vos had completely evaded it and went to the air, his right leg aiming for abdomens. Alexis cracked a smile. This was exactly what she wanted to happen. She anticipated that he would come at her directly, away from his fancy magic shit. He thought that her being in the air was making her unable to motion her body to evade or something of the like. However, that wasn't the case. Alexis was fully capable of doing as such and she did so with ease. He might have thought that she took the hit, but that wasn't the case.

When the foot supposedly connected, Alexis hooked his shin with her arms, smiling at him. "Got you now, sucker!" Alexis smiled -- grinned was more like it -- and with all of her might, she spun him around as his vision would see a spiral of the enviornment, the clouds soon appearing like a kaleidoscope, with mixtures of blue and white. After a minute of doing so, Alexis released her grip of his leg as she would point his body to the ground. She let the momentum she built up to shoot him down to the ground like a shooting star. However, she did not stop there. As Vos would undoubtedly be a meter or two away from impact, Alexis took to a downward, diagnoal flight as she was engulfed in flames. Several fire balls would shoot out of her palms directly to Vos as she would extend both arms in front of her.

There were a few things about the way his kick landed that felt wrong, incredibly wrong.

Just before it would connect, Alexis went in for a grab - which, frankly, wouldn't help at all had she been an ordinary human. It could prevent damage to her vitals, but ultimately, she would still end up on the ground without even the chance to gain an advantage from controlling her opponent's leg. A single strike from Vos'stoorge's sword would put her to rest in the first few seconds of the fight, granting him a flawless victory along with entry to the next round.

However, it seemed that fate had something different in mind for him. Alexis didn't even budge one bit, holding still in mid-air same as a brick wall holds on ground. By the virtue of some incredibly powerful force, the girl both defied gravity and staved off a mighty kick with nonchalant ease. Perhaps, she was using some sort of levitation magic; for Vos, knowing exactly what it was happened to be the least of his concerns, him being unprepared for this kind of situation. Taken by surprise, only a mix of pure instinct and combat acumen guided him, years of training surfacing that very moment. The decision came to him fairly quick: without any footing and nothing to grab onto, chances were he wouldn't be able to yank his leg out of her grasp, so there was only one course of action left to take: offense. He had to either pressure Alexis into releasing him, or end her here and now.

While the momentum of his kick would still be surging through her arms, straining the muscle, Vos would bend his leg, bringing himself closer to Alexis, and then hook his left shin around her thigh. While this would put him into a strange position, the right shin till perpendicular to her body, this also provided more muscle power for him to use, allowing Vos to pull himself upright, bringing his knee towards his opponent's chest with the strength of both of his legs and his hips. Only having to overpower her triceps and forearms to do so, the mageblade would manage to cover their gap in physical ability this way.

Thanks to doing so, he would be right up in her face, while Alexis would still have one hand wrapped around his ankle and the other trapped in the crook of his knee, the unnatural hardness of Vos'stoorge's muscle making it harder to escape than one would expect. He would lose no time - launching his kick, he brought the dagger arm back to his chest instead of keeping it overhead, and now it would be primed to strike. A quick jab towards her face - and even if she leaned out of the way, avoiding imminent death, he could still hook the dagger around her neck on its way backwards and simply activate the Pulse spell, sending the shockwave right into the base of her skull; an attack that could either knock her out cold or rip apart the spinal cord.

All of this, from the moment Vos would realize he was trapped, and up until he would thrust his dagger into his adversary's face, would take less than a single second, fused into a single, fluid and captivatingly deadly motion of the body.

Alexis Tomer, The Fire Fighter

Everything went wrong -- so very, very wrong. The plan was to send him flying down to the ground and launch her power of the flame down with his propelled body and hopefully nip the fight in the bud. That was the plan anyway. However, due to some unforeseen circumstances, everything changed. There Alexis was, ready to release her grip of his leg and send him down and Vos turned her own momentum against her. By not only bringing his left shin to wrap around her own, but also using the momentum to bring his knee into her chest, he had stopped any and all plans she might have made. The following action of bringing his body to an upright position was successful. While she still had been rotating her body(Vos too as it seemed), she noticed a glimmer on some shiny, metal surface in Vos’ hand.

As she looked down, it was indeed a dagger and she got a bad feeling. Just seconds before he would go in for a strike and the spell as well, Alexis yelled with all of her might. This sudden loud yell — a battle cry really — ignited her powers into overload. Her aura burning so red-hot and having the appearance of such wild-like flowing flames would not only surround her and Vos, but it also surrounded Alexis body too. Her skin itself began to turn a very faint color of red and orange. There was an aspect of fire melding with her own bare skin and as such, the properties of fire soon took form on said skin. With that being so, Alexis, through her desperation only, had sacrificed a portion of her body -- of her life -- to induce he very body with fire. This in turn would cause such a burning sensation for Vos as he was wrapped around. If the burning sensation didn’t prove to be too much for Vos, then the fact that he was within Alexis’ own burning aura that reached well over three-hundred degrees Fahrenheit , more than the temperature of boiling water.

By the time that came that Vos would attempt a strike, he would be risking a heat stroke due to the overheated aura that both of them were encased in. Alexis, with the movement of her free arm, brought that said arm up to her face, focusing the fire within at the point that the dagger of Vos' would strike it,covering the entire arm in a burning(to Alexis), solid brick-colored, shell-like aura. The full force of Vos' attack would meet with it. Which would prove to be more durable? Vos' dagger aided by his magic or Alexis' fire aura-covered arm?
