The day was just like any other at the cool village of Konohakagure. The market was open, kids played in the tall buildings and the grounds below laughing, and people socialized. Ninja went about their daily duties and fought for their right to exist. Menial and dangerous jobs alike it hardly mattered to anyone as long as you were on your path to be the fine shinobi you were destined to be. To live, experience, fight, and understand one's self was the best way to experience life. The dangers that came along with way of life, the life of the ninja, were things that would let everyone grow and become better people. It was through their devotion to their family, their village, their friends, and themselves that young men and women such as the one in the classroom. This was what it meant to live. To understand. To BECOME the best you could have possibly ever become. That was also a part of the Will of Fire. After all how many people could truly say they were happy with their lots in life without living life to it's fullest? However for the Konohakagure's newest ninja class this is what their teacher would always say, "The best life is one lived for yourself and your own beliefs knowing you did your best until you pass onto the next life." Nagato Sensei always encouraged them to do their absolute best and leave nothing back for those who hesitated failed. He was a bit stern and hard but he devoted himself fully to his students and hated if they failed viewing it as a failure himself. He'd personally help them and now he was seeing them off into the hands of different jounin throughout the village. The children raised in the academy were truly ready for what was to come. The world was a cruel harsh place and it was not to be trifled with but hey he can't do much now could he? The grey haired teacher smiled at his class sadly as he stood before them. "So everyone it's finally the day you graduate...I'm all so proud of you..." Nagato said loudly and proud.

===

It was a simple and typical morning for Kuro. Nothing fancy and nothing overall special. He had gotten up and eaten breakfast as usual and he had gone outside to train for a bit before heading off to school. It wasn't because he wasn't happy about today. No in fact he was glad that the day had finally come. He would actually become an official ninja and that was all there was too it. It took him a decent chunk of time to get to class as the road was blocked on the way there due to a fallen tree that had been knocked down by mistake in a construction project. Regardless he got there on time and that was all that mattered. He stank of sweat, he was a bit hungry to say the least after an extended walk, and he knew that Nagato Sensei wouldn't be pleased by the smell. But in the end it didn't matter. He took his place nearby the corner of the class room in the back row and simply sat there after saying hello to Nagato for the last time as a academy student.

Ignoring her mother's 'goodbye,' Mikone walked out of her apartment. Sunshine and the shadows of the clouds made the path toward the academy spotted with both shade and illumination. A morning like that was regular however. Still she appreciated nature, even made a game out of walking in the shade of the clouds instead of in direct sunlight.

Once reaching her classroom within the academy she joined the other kids her age. Then she remembered, this was graduation day. Just now recognizing the importance the young women looked around, getting an last glimpse of the walls, floor, and ceiling that she'd grow accustomed to over the years. Mikone wondered if she was feeling too attached to the school. After all the lives of ninja were no classroom, a failing grade could mean a loss of limbs or life.

"Good morning, Nagato Sensei" She said, wondering if it was the last time she'd say it. After that she took her place among her friends of the class. They looked ready as if time was going by too slowly, but she felt nervous almost panicked. Her palms were sweaty just from thinking about leaving the academy to become an actual shinobi.

Just by looking at her blank face, anyone could tell she was in deep though, ignoring most of her surroundings like her eager peers. No, I shouldn't feel worried. I just. I just need to think of the positives. Mom will have to respect me now, and so will my classmates. I'm going to become a genin then I can go on missions like dad.

Masatake soon woke up and he looked up at the ceiling of his room with the alarm clock going off next to him. Masatake sighed letting it go off for a few moments more before he finally got up and turned off the alarm clock. Since Masatake actual house was burned to the ground Masatake has been forced to live in one of the other elders houses knowing that they would be doing his work for the clan for the time being. Masatake trusted this man seeing as how his father did at one time but Masatake wasn't all to focused on being nice for the time being.

Masatake changed and grabbed his equipment making sure to take the summoning scroll that his father left him to summon their clan falcon who has served faithfully all this time. As he walked downstairs he gave a quick bow to both the elder and his wife before departing taking only a piece of bread with him as breakfast. Masatake put his straw hat on making sure to point it downward slightly so nobody would see his face clearly as he walked down the street towards the academy. Today would be the day he would graduate and would be put into a squad soon, no doubt Masatake would be the medical ninja in their little group but it would be good. No doubt it would feel like when he practiced with his father just the thought brought a small smile to his face as he walked into the academy giving a bow to Nagato sensei before taking a seat in the back row like he preferred not a social butterfly of course but who could blame him.

Masatake gently tilted his straw hat upwards so that his face was clearly visible so not to offend their sensei but Masatake never really took off his hat unless he was sleeping or showering. right now all that Masatake could think about was getting into a squad and someday finding the bastards that took his family and make them pay and make sure to bring his brother home with him...

"Wake up boy." Fukusho Mato's eyes slowly rose open as if he already awake waiting for a command.
"Is it already that time pop?" He complained as his father disappeared into seemingly thin air. The young boy knew from these constant drills that he was on a timer so he quickly threw on some shorts and a t-shirt before darting to his back yard. There his father stood waiting but he can tell that was not all. His father, Kai Mato's, skin glistened with sweat against the light of the moon and stars.
"Finally awake, huh." His father badgered his grinning child as they both too their starting positions. Both ninja and future ninja began to run sprints back and forth across the yard in rapid succession. This is what Fukusho had to endure every morning since he joined the ninja academy. Like every morning he knew there was no giving up until the first hint of sunlight.

An hour later after changing and getting ready Fukusho sat at his kitchen table. His father was fast but he thought by now he would notice him walk out the door by now. This was nothing new sine his father usually left for ninja duties far before Fukusho could even get to the kitchen in the morning. "I made you a special meal for your big day." His mother smiled as she gave him a plate. On that plate was a huge omelet. It was a treat because usually he only got a fried egg if he badgered his mother to cook for him. Fukusho usually ate oat meal and peanut butter.
"Thank you mother." The young future ninja said with pleasure in his face as he began to demolish the plate in front of him.

At the schoolhouse nothing important seemed to be going on just yet. Nagato-sensei seemed to take his usual place in the front of the room greeting everyone who showed up. Today was on record their last school day but they had no school work left to do. It was more of a graduation ceremony than anything else. Afterwards they were going to meet their sensei and start ninja missions in the near future. His parents always referred to it as his great beginning. Which meant he was going to be stuck doing joke tasks for a while. But that did not matter if he got in some new training from an awesome sensei. Fukusho took his usual standing spot at the back of the room after greet Nagato-sensei. It didn't seem like anyone he liked is here yet.

As Kuro looked at Nagato sensei he couldn't help but wonder what exactly this man had planned for the rest of the class after the previous two students dropped out late in the year presenting the unique problem of leaving an uneven number in the class. His uncle had told him genin had been assigned into three man squads. That meant that the one group that was placed with an extra member. It would mean a whole new team dynmatic and that meant a teacher may not be expecting this. He looked to his left and saw Kirito Takeba and down he saw the future heir to the Aburame Clan Daisuke. To the other corner of the room he saw Kisuke Kubo and Yin Uzumaki. With all of these talented young ninja in the room he couldn't help but wonder how their futures may end up eschewed by the weaker members of the class. Kids like Nagamasa Go and Kio Jin who had no skills in comparison to them. He had to wonder if he himself was about to be taken down an notch or two. "Remember class the worst way to go down the road is by doubting yourself. Doubt leads to pain which leads to failure which leads too you giving up. Giving up is the worst thing you could possibly do. And even worse it could lead to you hurting your team in the future. I taught you better than that! And even now even though you probably are viewing me as some sort of hard ass remember that these things are important! Without proper conduct and without proper etiquette you can't follow your own beliefs to the fullest. Now then remember kids that I may no longer be your permanent teacher but I am still here for you if you need someone to drill some knowledge into those heads of yours. I expect nothing but your best. Any less would be a disgrace to the leaf village and your families! Kirito remind the class what is the will of fire!?" Nagato demanded of poor Kirito who sighed and stood up. Nagato had drilled Kirito hard as he had little self confidence in himself as a ninja. "The strength to continue fighting against all odds, building willpower and strength of character. It is also symbolic of the hopes and dreams of the previous generation being passed to the next." Kirito said quietly before Nagato prompted him to say it louder. He did so and Nagato shouted that he was partially correct though the will of fire was different from person to person. "Good now unless everyone else has a problem or a question then please come on down and grab your village head bands. You all worked hard to get these. Don't lose them. Losing your headband is worse than losing your kunai. Losing your headband signifies your failure of commitment to your village!" Nagato said loudly as he waved his hand back towards a large desk in the front of the classroom. Kuro was uninterested in such babble but he found Nagato Sensei's points to be sound ones. Getting up he got into line in order to receive his headband next to Kirito.

Getting in line to wait her turn, Mikone smiled, letting herself believe those words. With that headband her father was passing down the will of fire to her. She'd keep it forever. and proudly wear it on her forehead. "I can't believe it's finally happening." She said, wondering how'd she even forgotten about graduation day. Mom will be happy too won't she? I mean... well... probably not. Maybe I should forget about a celebration at home. I didn't even bring it up that I passed the genin exam. Maybe I'll got celebrate with the other kids. I be- no wait. I'll go to the memorial and read over the names again.

When she touched the shiny metal and felt the cloth underneath the oil from her finger smudged the leaf symbol. In the smooth surface was her face. Not even realizing that she was holding up the line, Mikone put it on her forehead. Then she turned around to see Nagato Sensei's reaction. Proud like any teacher should be, even if he wasn't looking at any single student she knew he was happy for everyone.

Now I'm a genin. That means missions and more... but who though, who all are going to be in my tea,?

Masatake sighed softly as he got up from his seat and waited in line like everyone else. once he got his headband he opted against putting it on his forehead because nobody would see it so instead he wrapped it around his neck like a necklace. It wasn't that Masatake wasn't happy it was just that it seemed hollow without his family to enjoy the accomplishment with him. As he got his headband he walked back into a seat and just waited. Honestly Masatake didn't care much for the speech his sensei said not completely ignoring it just not caring about it, he understood about the importance of the headband and that was why he wrapped it around his neck so others would see and oddly enough the cloth wrapped around his neck almost felt like it belonged their, like he was destined to have the headband or something but Masatake was only focused on who would be on the team with him at the moment knowing it will be annoying trying to make these teammates into his new friends but he wanted or rather he needed to trust them and in turn they needed to trust him. Masatake waited for the others to get their headbands so that the sensei would call out who was on what team so that way Masatake can get everything going...

Kuro was up next and as he came in front of Nagato sensei they locked eyes. The man was expecting more out of Kuro then any of these other kids was he? Or was simply just eyeing down the Uchiha Clan's next ninja wondering if he would succeed where his forefathers and mothers did. Whatever the case may have been Kuro didn't particularly care. His young mind had more concerning things in mind. Like who would be teaching him. Whoever was going to teach him in the future held his progress in his hands. He wouldn't allow a weak teacher to hinder him. His goal was to become the strongest. After a tap on the shoulder by a female member of the class Kuro broke eyes with Nagato and picked up a white headband. He looked at the symbol and saw the village he had been born in, the village that had given him the chance to become who he was, and the village he'd kill for. Kuro grabbed the forehead protector and wrapped it gingerly around his head. As he felt the cloth brush against his head he turned back without a word to his seat but Kirito grabbed his shoulder, "Hey man...good job." the boy said as Kuro grunted. "Yeah...you too." the two had said to each other simply before Kuro walked past the remaining few and jogged up the stairs to his seat. He had no interest in talking to anyone.

While waiting for class to start Fukusho began to think of how his career as a ninja would go. He could not stop thinking about all of the enemy ninja he would be killing. When he was older he would be telling his kids the tales of all of his epic war stories before he is hailed as a great ninja. Before he noticed what was going on everyone else in the room had already gotten in line to receive their headbands. Fukusho stood at the back of the line continuing to think. It took him a couple minutes until he was standing in front of Nagato-sensei taking his headband. He could tell since he was the first ninja from the Mato clan in this academy that Nagato-sensei didn't have anything to compare him to for the future. (Since his father received a completely different set of training.) "Nagato-sensei, with this headband I'm going to be the greatest ninja who ever lived." The new Genin said out loud. With that Fukusho picked up a a Konoha Headband and removed his own band ad tied it around his head.

"Good...good. Fukusho You have a strong heart you can use it to become better. Better than many people. Work with your limitations and exceed them. Only by accepting yourself can you become better than your forefathers. Look towards the future and strive for a better one. It's been an honor teaching you kid." Nagato commented with a smile towards his student. "Remember no matter what happens you can still count on those around you in this class even me." Nagato continued as he pointed out how some of the other students were smiling and reminiscing about events that had occurred in class. "That's what makes us great. Our comrades."

Mikone overheard Nagato sensei. Oh well I guess he is extremely proud of a few certain people! But That just means they've come very far. I have too! Mikone kept the happiest expression on her face, too eager and too excited for her first mission. She could barely sit still, let alone contain her imagination.

Masatake simply shook his head at what sensei was talking about, comrades huh? well it was one thing to trust someone is was another to consider them a comrade. Masatake thinks hes pretty broken at this point in the trust department and he just hoped that whoever he would end up with would try to understand his situation and how it has effected him. Masatake wasn't looking for glory or fame or any of that all that Masatake wanted was his little brother back and revenge on who caused his nightmare after that Masatake will become the clan head and fulfill his duties as such making sure to perform surgery and procedures to those who need it and if Masatake can spread the name of his clan then that would make it that much better for him in the long run. However at this point Masatake was hoping that sensei would get on with who was on which team so they can get the bonding stuff out of the way and leave for their mission later on...

"Naturally, Nagato-sensei." Fukusho began with fire in his eye. "You and all of my other instructors taught us all. With those ninjutsu lessons come life lessons that will bring everyone one of us greatness." Fukusho replied to his teachers remark. In truth he did claim that he was going to be the greatest when he had no idea how he was going to beat every ninja in the world. Nagato-sensei was still stronger than him and a select few in this room could beat him. Then again if he trusted his own abilities and kept pushing then there was not a single ninja he could not beat. "I'm sure I'm going to become the greatest of friends with every comrade I fight along side with." The young ninja told himself.

"Indeed now go back to your seat young Fukusho. Unless you rather spend the day here with your old teacher and not your new one with your new...well relatively new squad. They are still your former classmates after all." Nagato said simply as he directed the boy back to their seats. After all the students had received their own headbands and had taken a moment to converse came the voice of Nagato once more. "It is good to see most of my class could take the hardships I threw at you. It was in the end to make you better ninja. But now that is up to your teachers now. Yes your teachers. They will be the ones who will show you the path forward. Some may hinder you, some may hurt you, and some may make you greater than anything before you. Think of it this way: If a man teaches you to have a flaw in your style that he or she could easily exploit later then makes you into a monstrous machine of death then what does that say about you when you are killed by the man who made you flawed? Of course your sensei that is being assigned to you probably won't have that ambition. However knowing the world we live in it is no too bizarre to think that you will be used. Be careful who is your friend and who is teaching you to be a better ninja. Everything has a string attached. And now without further ado...I will be assigning you your new squads. Likewise due to a change in the way things are being done you will be meeting your sensei immediately after class instead of a day or two afterward. Be it this catches on or not later is to be decided. Think of it this way: You don't need to wait until the end of the week before you find out who is teaching you how to punch someone really hard." Nagato said with a grin as he brought out a list from underneath his desk. Kuro simply looked at their teacher waiting and listening as he usually has throughout the year. He'd preferred if this had happened quicker but hey it was what it was. Patience had it's worth after all.

"Alright the first squad is Squad 10! Under Kenta Urahara! I give you my formal congratulations: Kirito, Daisuke, and Jiro!" Nagato called out as Kuro gave a small round of applause which was promptly stopped by the teacher as he then informed the class they should not clap after the announcements. "Now then...Squad 11 under Kano Uchiha will be Hiyami, Yin, and Kubo." Kano...he wasn't really familiar with Kano but he knew he was a strong ninja from stories told around the compound from time to time. Team 13 was being taught by a woman named Zhi of Clan Kohaku with a group of nobodies in the team.

"Alright now for Team 14. Under the tutorage of a man named Akihiko Nara...well it seems this will be the one with an extra member...We have Masatake Gorou, Fukusho Mato, Mikone, and finally Kuro Uchiha." Kuro frowned when he heard his name being called. What a pain in the behind. What kind of group was this? He supposed an Uchiha would level out the group especially as one as skilled as him but the rest of the group...what did they exactly bring to the table? Regardless there were two more squads who were called out before Nagato said that they should all meet somewhere on school grounds and before going to meet their sensei. He had a group of letters on his table on where they were to meet their sensei. Kuro figured if he wouldn't go for the letter no one else would so he got up and walked over to grab it after Nagato stopped talking.

Masatake heard the announcement of their squad and oddly enough he was put into a 4 man squad instead of a 3 man squad which wasn't unheard of but wasn't very common. when Masatake saw kuro uchiha go and grab the paper that was all the motivation that Masatake needed to get up and talk to him. Soon he got up and sighed a little lower his hat again as he walked down and gave a small bow to Kuro Masatake Gorou, good to know were on the same team. Im most likely to become the medical ninja in our little group and from what I know of the uchiha clan I can assume you will have the sharingan and be able to confuse the enemies. I hope we can work well together for our future missions Masatake said doing his best to be friendly but he wasn't exactly being overly friendly either as far as most could tell Masatake was speaking like he was talking to professional. Right now Masatake knew that Kuro would be their offensive fighter and if needed the tool for confusing the enemy with powerful genjustsu if Kuro had his sharingan get to that strength but while he had that Masatake was a medical professional or the closest most would get at his age and as such will be able to heal everyone and when in combat he uses needles to capture or kill an enemy with precision strikes to vital points thanks to his dark eyes

"The sharingan is a crutch Gorou. I prefer to let my taijutsu do the talking. And I'm not some big shot there's no need to bow to me like a dog in front of it's master. It's beneath someone who calls himself my teammate." Kuro commented bluntly without feeling as he looked at the boy. "My father told me your clan was mostly wiped out one day by an unknown assailant or group. For what it's worth and since we never talked much prior to this fateful event I give you my condolences for that event. And don't worry it's not especially common knowledge. My father is a rather high ranking ninja and he felt particularly disgusted by the event. But I'm sure you don't want to talk about that no more than I would about my sharingan. I'll drop the subject."

Thank you, I appreciate your discretion on the matter. at the moment the village elders are taking care of the clan until I finish my life's mission then ill simply go back and be the new clan head. I rather not open old wounds and I simply bowed because I taught to do so when meeting a member from a distinguished clan as your own. So for the time being lets do our best to get along for our future missions ill be a ninja as long as I have to you can become the greatest ninja in the world if you want. while im a ninja ill spread my clans name and hopefully bring it back from what happened before. Masatake told him not completely friendly to him as he was to Masatake but right now as long as they weren't at each others throats Masatake couldn't care less. do you know where we are supposed to meet our new sensei? Masatake said simply wanting to get this day done with

"I see regardless of that we need to fulfill the Leaf's mission first and that's to be the best ninja possible. Don't forget about that." Kuro commented as he looked down at the folded envelope. "I don't know just yet I'm waiting for the others to gather around before I open it. I'd rather not explain it more than once. If you want to open it and do that then go ahead and open it." Kuro said plainly as he offered Gorou the letter boldly and eyed him with indifference as if he were just another person asking him about what happened at a game the other day.

A squad with 4 members? Mikone gather with her squad, getting to see them face to face. Their talents were much different than hers. In many ways she felt out classes by them as well as intimidated from the Uchia, Taijutsu user, and Medical student. She offered just ninjutsu and not eve very good ninjutsu.

"Hello." She said, unsure of how the others were going to react to her. "I'm Mikone."

That was obvious.. uh
