Pretty much any tech you can think of you can use, as long as it's not super OP.

I'm by no means a Co-GM or anything of the sorts. So don't take my word for it but:

AIs are being developted and somewhat used. SkyGuard has some high-grade tactical AIs. The TPT develop AIs if I recall correctly. And my faction will probably create a robot army of multiple AIs working together (think of Mass Effect's Geth or Battlestar Galactica's Cylons. My guess is that basic AIs are being used, but more advanced AIs are probably only found in SkyGuard (and i believe there is 1 rogue AI among one of the factions).

For the nanobots: I believe that the FBM had something called a nanite rifle that could eath away armor but not flesh. So my guess is that they're around for basic tasks (like eating away a tank armor or preventing blood clotting) but nothing more.

Again, I could be wrong about all this stuff.

^That. Also take it easy on space stuff as SKYGUARD has a monopoly on that. You will be the last faction to round out the roster unless someone drops.

Anyone going to step in at Elysium city? Otherwise I'm basically going to level it and send refugees out to other colonies/cities.

Obviously there will be the deaths of FBM fighters in Elysium, but most of those will be off set by refugees joining. The base in Elysium is hidden away like all the bases and isn't the biggest base.

I usually listen to music for inspiration, and found two particular songs that would fit into this rp as an intro.
So which one of these two would you guys choose?

CyberWorld-Xray Dog
Drums, Vocals, a militaristic undertone, then some classical bits.

Ice Planet-Two steps from hell
This feels like a techno/cyber version of a Command&Conquer game. Goes nicely with the scifi feel of FACTION.

I want to lean torwards Ice Planet, but then Cyberworld has that classical element I can't shake off. I personally can't choose between the two at the moment. Can you guys?

I... Eh, I don't really like either of those, not for this roleplay. The classical tone doesn't fit a Martian roleplay based in the red desert and such, and I don't really like Two Steps From Hell in general.

Really, I listen to specific soundtracks for specific scenes. For instance, when writing for La Parranda I find myself wanting to listen to some guitar with a Western / Space age feel to it. For instance, this piece from Borderlands 2 is perfect for my writing moods in La Parranda.

I've got other tracks lined up for battle scenes, such as basically the majority of Borderlands 2's soundtracks, but since I haven't been in a battle yet I haven't needed those. There's a few other games and artists out there that have the right sounds I look for in combat music and still fit the space theme. Bastion has a lot of good Space Western songs that work for battle. There are also tunes from Starcrawlers that work well for combat and non-combat purposes. Doc Sam's. Also, FTL and its expansion have some decent tracks.

For a theme that belongs to the whole roleplay, though...? I haven't really given that much thought. I'll have to chew on that one.

EDIT: Yes, I listen to lots of video game OSTs.

EDIT 2: And the theme would have to be gritty enough to feel like Mars while also having something that spits of Skyguard and the Corporations.

I personally love out of the box cyber/classical combos for this sportive thing, its just how I'm thinking with the theme of my corp.
Your music choices for your faction are good. Its hard to displease me though when it comes to music, I love almost all genres, but I love specific ones even more.

Imperial march is one of the several villain tracks that would go with them.
